Woot, found at Woot.com, is an online retailer founded in 2004 and acquired by Amazon in 2010, which describes themselves as “the original daily deals site” and promises users some of the lowest prices available on today’s market.

How Does It Work?

According to their website, Woot.com originally began by just offering their customers a single product per day until that item was sold out or until it was replaced with the new item for sale at midnight Central Time.

As they have grown and expanded, however, they now offer their customers multiple daily deals across 11 different categories.

Their main deal of the day will be prominently featured on their home page, and is described as “the best deal Woot has to offer” and is generally the lowest price you will find anywhere on the internet.

Woot Plus offers a curated collection of deals related by brand, product category, or theme, and each event will last a few days.

Customers who are interested in shopping through their current inventory can do so by category, including Home & Kitchen, Electronics, Computers, Tools & Garden, Sports & Outdoors, Fashion, Kids & Toys, Shirt, Wine, Sellout, and Flash Deals.

Cost & Price Plans

This company offers such a wide selection and option of products at this time that there is no way to quote a single or static price range for the products you will find here, especially considering the new inventory they will add throughout the year.

That being said, as a daily deals website, they assure their customers that the prices you find for your products on Woot will be some of the lowest, if not the absolute lowest, that will be available on the market.

Refund Policy

This company is very clear that they only accept returns for damaged and defective items.

If you did receive a damaged or defective product from this company, you will need to contact their Customer Service team within 21 days of the date of purchase to receive your return instructions.

If the company receives your returned product and it is found to not be defective or damaged, their website says that they reserve the right to charge a 15% restocking fee and to not refund your original shipping charges.

If you do not identify the defect or damage until after 21 days have past, they recommend that you contact the manufacturer or whomever provides the warranty of your product to see if some other resolution is possible.

Customer Service Contact Info

Customers who would like to contact Customer Service with any questions, concerns, or complaints can do so by submitting them directly to their website through their Contact Us link once you have signed into your Woot account.

Reputation

Unfortunately this company has generally mixed reviews right now, and it is somewhat difficult to determine how many of those customers are genuinely unhappy with the service as it functions now and how many people are simply upset with the format and function changes made to this website after it was purchased by Amazon.com in 2010.

Regardless, there does appear to be at least one common thread in some of the customer complaints, and that is an issue with this company being unable to fill an order as it was placed and then not informing the customer that their order has effectively been cancelled.

In fact, a significant number of customers complained that the company actually kept their money until they called to complain that their order had never been delivered. It was only then that they were told their order had been cancelled and that the process of refunding their money was started.

This is important for prospective customers to understand, because it means that customers will need to be very diligent in following their orders and speaking to Customer Service if they believe there is a problem.

Competitors and Alternatives?

Daily deals and daily deal websites have been popular for quite awhile now and there are many other choices and alternatives for customers who are interested in shopping this way.

That being said, most of these websites have non-existent Refund Policies, so it is important for you to find a website with a positive review to do business with.

Poor Quality Control

Bought an Iphone 10 grade A refurb from Woot about 6 months ago. It looks new with minimal imperfection and I paid over $300 for it, now it's dead! I brought the phone to the Apple store, and they said it is the logic board problem. I contact Woot through email and they said it is over ninety days warranty and they can't do anything about it.. Well, I guess I now own an expensive paperweight. You have been warned: DO NOT BUY REFURB items from them.

It's a scam. No customer service responses or phone number and amazon itself won't help you.

Thank you. I got an invoice for a TV and Mac laptop I never bought and to be delivered somewhere in Ohio. I am in Philadelphia. Since they don't have my credit card info, I'm hoping I'm safe.

Ordered laptop from an Amazon and it was delivered 10 days later than promised. Not the computer advertised, had no DVD player, was 240 ghz not the 360 ghz advertised and when I sent it back they never sent me another one after 3 weeks. Finally Amazon made it right and refunded money.
