Customer support needs vast improvement. Been waiting over 1 month for answer on replacement part for 2015 HR.

Trouble update software

I have purchased a Harvest Right and used it for a few years and it has worked fantastic. We did not have any problems. The other day we ran a load and it worked just like always. We then however, decided to try a batch of candy and decided to upgrade our software to have a candy mode so that it would not take as long to process. We have worked through the phone with three different people and then finally was transferred to a service technician which cost $45.00 and have yet to resolve our issues with the update. We now are going to have to replace the mother board and screen at a cost of $150.00 to get our machine to work again. Here's hoping that works. I do love our machine when it is working properly.

My Harvest right tech David was the best! He knew right away after my verbal descriptions of the freeze dryer's symptoms. All my warrantied parts were at no cost to me and shipping was very quick with info on shipping e-mailed to me the day of shipping. His follow-ups were faster than anyone else I have dealt with in the service industry and if he couldn't get ahold of me he called more than once that same day until he got ahold of me. He was very patient and extremely knowledgeable. He also gave me information on how to run my freeze dryer more efficiently and to give the vacuum pump longer life. He went so far as to help me with information on new products even though he isn't a salesman. Not even one time did he pass me on to another department of put me on hold. He did everything he said he was going to and more.

Great Way to Preserve Food

I bought my freeze dryer about a month ago. In experimenting with different foods, I'm learning what turns out good and what doesn't. Overall, I think it is a good investment since the food will last many years when packaged and stored correctly. The one thing that I am having problems with is the premier pump. It leaks oil during every load ran. Oil is pooled under the pump and I have relayed a message to the manufacturer and have not had a reply as of yet.

I love my Harvest Right medium freeze dryer. I was a little frustrated when it suddenly had inadequate vacuum, but Elle with Customer Service was able to help me get it up and running in about a week. I have freeze dried so many fruits and vegetables from my garden and orchard that might have otherwise gone to waste. I hope to add a second freeze dryer one day. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of five is that even when the machine is under warranty, you have to do most repairs. But like I said, customer service was great.

I recently had a problem with my unit. Their software directed me toward specific videos that help me determine what the problem is. It’s pretty cool. If you need to speak with someone, their easy to get a hold of. In the end, a simple software update was the solution. Their service was excellent!

Ease To Use/Tasty Treats

Purchased our first HR Medium Pro in early September 2023 and quickly discovered the ease of freeze drying, leading to freeze drying an array of fresh fall harvests which results in wonderful healthy snacks.

Our experience led us to purchase a second HR Medium Pro to allow for increased capacity to make treats, but to also make freeze dried chicken, tuna, and sardine cat treats (which our 10 kitties LOVE, at a fraction of commercial costs).

Easy and more useful than expected

Our local library obtained a medium Harvest Right freeze dryer through a grant. They allow the library members to use the machine, on a rotating schedule basis. This has been a great way for people to try this out and decide if purchasing their own is worthwhile. Personally, I have been quite surprised how easy the machine is to use and how many ways you can use it. The excitement created by being able to try it out first has allowed my family to see that we'd use a freeze dryer often and so we eagerly look forward to the day our own Harvest Right machine arrives! We raise dairy goats and have had great results freeze drying their milk and other dairy products that we create from the milk.

Refurbished unit works flawlessly

So I ordered a refurbished medium size unit not the new pro. when it came delivered everything was there there were a few more bruises and scratches than anticipated However the unit did and does work. I do have to say though the unit came with food stuck all over the heating mats I would assume if you refurbish a unit that means you would clean it and test it I'm really not sure how it was tested as the door was way out of whack not even close to being able to be closed without causing undue stress on the door and hinges and with the food particles stuck all over the heating mats I just wonder how and if it was tested at all?

I do have to say though after having it for over a week now and running at least six loads through the machine it has worked flawlessly and I am very thankful for that as you know these things cost a pretty penny and saying this I look forward to many years of use Thank you Harvest right for making a quality product but please please get a handle on your department that refurbishes the units once again thank you

We had an issue with our freeze dryer not holding a vacuum so we submitted a problem ticket. We were called back very quickly; the problem was diagnosed and the replacement part (an upgraded one) was sent A.S.A.P. Even though we were out of warrantee, the employee that we worked with (Chet) pointed out the we had a store credit that we were unaware of and applied it to the part making it free of charge. Always excellent service from a knowledgeable and friendly staff.

That I can count on customer service to answer any of my questions.

This has been the best customer service call I've ever had. The representative was knowledgeable, patient and kind. I was unable to select what kind of pump I was using because it wouldn't give me the option on the screen. He instructed me to touch the center of the screen and voila ,there it was ,already preprogrammed. He then instructed me to continue with my batch burn in period. I appreciate your superb service.

We initially had a problem with our machine, which turned out to be a bad set of wires. From the very first time we contacted Harves Right, we have had amazing customer service, to include step-by-step troubleshooting. When we got to the point of needing parts, we were provided the replacement parts fairly quickly and we were walked through fixing the issue. Since we have had the fix, we have run multiple batches and had no issues since!

I purchased a medium Harvest Right Freeze Dryer in May 2023 and began using it in August. I have had good success with elderberries, fresh figs, apples, pressure cooked pinto beans, corn, scrambled eggs and more. I found an oil leak and contacted Harvest Right and a replacement part was sent out free of charge. After replacing the part the unit no longer leaks and I have used it several times. I am glad to have this freeze dryer.

Worth every dime for storing our own food!

I have owned my large Harvest Right freeze dryer for about 10 months now. Just recently the computer board in the machine kept sending vacuum error codes. I contacted Harvest Right and they sent a certified technician out to replace the part. Quick side note- I registered my freeze dryer as soon as we got it for the warranty and I’m glad we did!! Daren, the technician, was very informative and even stayed long enough to help me run a candy batch to make sure the unit was working properly. We have been able to store two seasons worth of gardening now and learned so much. We are now thinking of purchasing a second freeze dryer to increase our capacity for storing our own food. If you are in a position to purchase a Harvest Right freeze dryer don’t hesitate!

I've had my freeze dryer for about 4 months , and it was a really smart purchase. Within 5 minutes, I was freeze drying. They've really dumbed the whole process down, which has been so nice. The machine is very loud, which, of course, is expected, so I would definitely just put it someplace with a door :-) The customer service at Harvest right is amazing, and I really appreciate the hours they stay open. My only regret is not buying a bigger unit to start with. So if you can afford it, definitely go with as big as you can afford. It'll be worth it in the long run

Buy from a supplier that knows what they are doing - preferably one that offers classes. We did that and it helped alot.

Harvest Right Freeze Dryers stores food with 97% of original nutrition, color & taste. Thats a lot better than canning or other storage methods. And if you store it with a proper oxygen absorber in a 5 to 7 ml mylar sealed bag it lasts a long time - They say up to 25 years. We've used the large model for 3 years with minimal difficulty and prefer it over other canning methods. The main disadvantage to its use is - it takes a long time to dry a batch - however we feel the value received is worth it. We had lots of "high fives" from family when we took it on a back pack trip and fed everybody breakfast with our freeze dried food. "I feel like I just dined at Dennys!" one of them said.

I would look elsewhere!

Sent a mis wired tray rack. Fried my dryer. 2 months later still has not made it right and still no dryer.

Looking at the other freeze dryer company in the future!

First medium harvest right was delivered and damaged during shipment. Received the replacement quickly and got it set up and have been using it 24/7 for the past 2 months, no issues. Bought a second medium also nonstop usage. Highly recommended..

I love my Harvest Right freeze dryer. It has allowed for me to save food for future use. Instead of giving food away or having it go bad, I am able to keep it stored for future use. I had one small problem with the seal on my door but customer service was amazing. They contacted me immediately after I reported the issue, diagnosed the problem, quickly sent me a new seal which solved my issue. They followed up several times to make sure everything was resolved.

Double check yourself. Take an extra minute to review any mistakes that might have been made.

I had a problem with getting started with my harvest Right freeze dryer, I called the # provided in my manual, the staff was very prompt in helping me get started talking with someone to help walking through my problem, he was very patient and seemed determined to help me, he was successful in fixing my issue and it turned out, the machine was fine, I didn't have power sorce plugged in right. I feel comfortable moving forward with my HR. Knowing I have a great staff of people I can count on when problems may arise.
