The Fitnus Smartwatch is a brand of discount fitness tracker that aims to offer a low cost alternative to the bigger, more expensive brands dominating the industry.

How Does It Work?

While being a cheaper alternative, the company still claims to offer many of the same features that you’d find in a more expensive product.

Fitnus market their smartwatch directly to consumers through online ads and only sell their watches online,

As an 'online only' retailer, Fitnus cut out some of the middlemen involved in traditional retail outlets, which is one of the ways they state they're able to keep costs low.

Below we take a closer look at the Fitnus Smartwatch to see if it’s really a good alternative to trusted brands.

The Fitnus.com website claims that the watch has a lot of features to help users at any stage of their health journey by being able to keep track of vitals such as heart rate, blood oxygen level, and blood pressure.

The watch also functions as an activity tracker, keeping count of steps taken and walking distance, and also works with your smartphone to alert you to new texts, emails, and other smartphone notifications.

The Fitnus Smartwatch comes with a set of detailed instructions that explain how to charge the watch and assemble the straps.

In order to pair the watch with your smartphone you need to download the Runmifit App, which is available for Android and Apple devices.

Customer Reviews & Complaints

When you research this watch online you’ll come across many online customer reviews for Fitnus.

However, a large portion of the websites reviewing the Fitnus are affiliate sites set up to promote the product for a commission, and do not post any actual customer feedback.

This affiliate marketing strategy also works to crowd out actual feedback in the search results.

When we found genuine customer reviews for the Fitnus Smartwatch, we found that the majority of them were not positive.  There are many complaints about the watch itself, and even more complaints regarding the Runmifit app.

Reviews reported such issues as:

Incorrect Vitals  -  Users reported low temperature readings, inaccurately high BPMs, and a virtually useless sleep tracking function.

There were mixed reviews regarding the step count, with some customers saying that the watch was fairly accurate, albeit a touch too sensitive.

App Connectivity  -  The bulk of customer complaints focused on how unreliable the app is at interacting with their smartphone.  Many customers mentioned that the Fitnus frequently disconnected and, over time, stops pairing with the device altogether.

Data Loss  -  Customers also mentioned issues with data loss, which occurred with any updates or after the battery died.

Many also had issues with receiving notifications from their phone via the watch, expressing that notifications only worked when the app was open and running.  The Runmifit app has 2.4/5 rating in the Google play store.

On a positive note, the parent company for the Fitnus brand is accredited by the BBB with a B+ rating.  There are some customer complaints on the BBB website, but they have been addressed by customer service.

In general it seems that the Fitnus team replies to publicly posted negative reviews with attempts at resolving customer issues.

Customer Service

If you have any questions regarding the Fitnus, you can submit an inquiry via email at [email protected] or by phone at: 1-800-311-1794.

The company states they offer a 30 day money back guarantee on their smartwatches.  However, in their terms and conditions they Fitnus state that customers need to contact them within 7 days after receiving the product to initiate a refund.

You'll have to send back the watch in the condition and packaging that you received it in, and at your own expense.

If you submitted an order but no longer wish to receive the product, Fitnus state that you have 24 hours to cancel the order.  They will refund your order minus S&H fees.

The company address is:

Competitors and Alternatives

There are a lot of options and overlap when it comes to fitness trackers and smart watches.  Some are better than others for athletic tracking while others provide more of an all around experience.

If there’s a particular feature that’s your primary reason for investing in this type of tech then you may want to narrow your search for a tracker that specializes in that functionality.

Some of the best options on the market today are from Fitbit, Garmin, and Apple.

The Fitbit Charge 5 is a NY Times pick and best seller on Amazon.

It’s an advanced health tracker that measures a variety of movements with a built-in GPS.  It has a plethora of advanced features that let you track your sleep, heart rate, and includes a stress management tool.

It costs $120 on Amazon.

If you don’t need an overwhelming amount of features and are looking for a budget choice, the brand’s other option is the Fitbit Inspire 2.

It does not have built-in GPS so you’ll need to connect it to your phone for that feature.  It offers all the basic options like activity tracking, heart rate monitoring, and sleep quality tracking and analysis.

It’s also water resistant to 50 meters and even offers guided on-wrist breathing sessions.  It has a 4.5/5 rating from 52,000+ reviews on Amazon.

It retails for $65 and includes a free 1-Year Fitbit Premium Trial subscription.

The Bottom Line

We find that the Fitnus Smartwatch raises some serious red flags.

There are a number of discount smartwatches being aggressively marketed online, all using the same software and app, but sold under different brand names.  These smartwatches all have similar negative reviews and usually the sellers don’t stick around longer than a year.

Another red flag is that advertisements for the Fitnus Smartwatch specifically advertise the watch as a product for seniors.  We find this suspicious because elderly customers are less likely to be able to differentiate between a quality and a subpar electronic device.

While it’s promising that Fitnus is accredited with the BBB, the negative online reviews and the brand’s history of releasing other subpar products, such as the SignalTech and Airjoi, make it difficult to recommend this device.

We think it's best to go with a trusted brand that, while perhaps costing more, will deliver more accurate results and have the customer support infrastructure in place if you have issues with the product.

If you have any experience with the Fitnus Smartwatch, please leave your reviews below.

Not the least bit accurate
January 30, 2024
Doesn't work. My husband wore it for a few days and everything was great until he checked it against the doctor's BP machine. It was off by more than 40 points. If you depend on this watch for vital information, you take your life in your hands.

Good at First, then the Bad happened.

I loved the product, was able to read stats on my android phone, kept charge for almost 2 weeks, but good things came to an end when it no longer appeared on my phone, I try to login, but it says my password not valid...tried all kinds of things. Going to toss it cause time is not paired with my cell....Bad.

Don't waste your money.

Watch won't pair with app. There are other cheaper fitness watches that actually work. Not worth it at half the price. I fell for the hype and bought two. They are fitness trackers but since they won't pair with app a lot of things they are supposed to do they won't. One of the most basic things, they won't keep time because they get time from phone and since they won't pair, no time displayed.

Have to make a correction to my review. I tried pairing phone with app one more time. I restarted phone first. Phone paired this time. Now I have to wear it for awhile to be able to judge. I bought this mainly for blood pressure but I should know better. None of the watches I've had are accurate on blood pressure. I have a wrist blood pressure checker and It's not accurate either. An arm monitor is most accurate for me.

NOT CHARGING
October 14, 2023

I liked the watch. It was not accurate on any of the vitals. It no longer will charge. I contacted Fitnus. but no response. I would not recommend this watch at all.

IT IS JUNK
October 6, 2023

Absolute piece of crap, have to charge battery daily, very inaccurate readings, buckle on band fell apart-had to fix, band broke & cannot find a replacement. Take the cost in cash and burn it, you will be better off. Can't review with 0 stars...

Do not buy this product
August 10, 2023
I bought this watch and was so disappointed I returned it within 30 days. I couldn’t see the face outside at all, and couldn’t get it to do things it was supposed to do. It wasn’t reliable with its readings either as I checked it against a blood pressure cuff I already had. I contacted the company 3 times and it took several days for someone to contact me. No one tried to help me figure out why it wasn’t working properly. You have to pay shipping to return it and they only refund the cost of the watch, not original shipping fee, which I do understand. I wish I had read reviews first, the description sounded perfect.

Worked as well as the fitbit I owned
July 11, 2023
My fitnus tracker works great! It was an easy set up and reliable product. Worked as well as the fitbit I previously owned.

My Fitnus lost 10 minutes the second time I charged it. After charging it multiple times, it is 11 minutes behind. Have tried to re-pair it with my iPhone with no results. I still wear it for steps. It may not be counting all my steps, but I have difficulty walking and I’m trying to reach 5000 steps a day. Haven’t got there yet.

CAN'T CONTACT
June 17, 2023
I have not received my product yet. I ordered 2 watches. They've already charged my credit card. I've been trying for days to contact them asking why I haven't received any info (tracking #, etc), for 3 days. (Yes, I have checked my SPAM folder.) I emailed 3 days ago and today tried to call. I can't get any response, despite their website stating they would respond within 24 hours. Should I contact my credit card company now? Or wait a few more days before disputing the charge?

Not Worth It
May 29, 2023
First one quit working after a few weeks. It was replaced with one which worked for a couple of months. Both just died. The numbers on the watch were rather dim and it was impossible to see the numbers on the watch when outside in the sun. I would not buy this watch again.

No GOOD
May 11, 2023
Bought a watch for Christmas 2022 and it did not work properly. It took them 2 months to send a replacement, and that one did the same as the first as neither of them would calculate the steps properly. The company did process a refund, and the customer service reps were helpful, that is about the only thing going for this company as of now. NO phone tech support did not help either, nor will they pay to have defective watches returned to investigate the problem.

don't recommend to buy

Good but not my choice
March 28, 2023
Not very bad, but it could be better. What else to expect for this price? Still, in the end, I made the choice of hours more expensive.

Needs calibration
March 25, 2023

My fitnus smart watch reads the same for heart at 81 every time and blood pressure reads way low always when compared to our power arm blood pressure checker. Is there a way to calibrate this Fitnus smart watch? Does anyone else have this problem?

Bad product!!
March 19, 2023
Don't buy this cheap watch. while the electronics work, both of the ones I bought (one for my wife and one for myself) have broken where the strap connects to the watch body in less than a year of service. It is advertised for seniors, this might hold true if they are in bed all the time. Any active senior needs to find another product.

VERY inaccurate and intermittent
March 2, 2023

The watch and App seem to disconnect often and I have to reboot my phone to get it to sync. I have found that the steps are inaccurate, when compared to friends I walk with and a phone App that I downloaded.

Sometimes it will track biking as steps, and other times it will not. And the sleep tracking is WAY off, showing times I went to sleep far different that I actually did, as well as some dead spots on the sleep chart. I am not happy with this watch.

Fitnus does not live up to its reviews.
February 20, 2023
I bought the Fitnus smartwatch recently but soon discovered it does not live up to its reviews. It does not accurately keep count of the steps or monitor the blood pressure correctly.

Audio Problems
February 16, 2023

This is STRICTLY my PERSONAL experience and OPINION while using a new Samsung phone. YOUR results may differ.

Saw the commercial, bought the watch, returning the watch.

Once I attached the watch to the Bluetooth on my phone all the audio on my phone stopped, except just the phone. The watch would vibrate, but not ring. The health readings were spot on, but my phone already does that and I had video.

The app the watch uses is elementary at best with the sleep option impossible to use.

Save your money and the unnecessary hassle.

Satisfied so far
February 9, 2023
I received mine 4 days ago and so far so good. I read other reviews about it not working after a month and I hope this doesn’t happen with mine. My review right now is good but who knows in the future.

Not worth the money
February 4, 2023
Absolutely a disappointment. Second day totally stopped working. Total waste of money, time and effort. There has to be better products on the market.

Difficult
January 16, 2023
Purchased this for my wife as a Christmas gift. She's not happy. Difficult to program and numbers were not true, heart rate, steps and time. Tried to sync multiple times but with no luck. The app for the phone had an adverse effect on the normal operation on the phone, Wrist band is also way too large. Looked into returning but looks like the company makes it very difficult. Might have to caulk this up as a bad experience.

RobertAlexander January 20, 2023

I purchased one of the smartwatches and am having some trouble, but to top all of this I had an order for one more of same watch plus three packages of wrist bands and I did not order this extra watch nor the wrist bands. I tried to get them to take but I'm still trying.

Once I do get credit for them, I never use them again plus all I have seen on them is complaints. I have seen better smart watches for just about same price in different designs and they work.
