I was so excited to get my new Harvest Right Freeze Dryer. I can honestly say there was a learning curve as I worried if products were completely dry, etc. There are so many sites online and I watched videos and relied on my friends who had used theirs for years to feel competent in what I was doing. It's actually easy, but I didn't want to make any mistakes!

Then I had an issue with my screen and had to contact Harvest Right. It happened during the holidays and I was pleased when the technician handled my issue as quickly as possible and even though it was an intermittent problem, they were able to get me back up and running.

I have total confidence in the help that is available should a problem arise again.

I have had this machine for over a year. I was panicked when I first bought it trying to figure out recipes and times. Mostly the machine does things itself and senses how much time it needs. I have had a few times I have had to add extra time. It is a big investment if it simply for food preservation. We have the large capacity one and it doesn't hold that much in comparison to what you can or dehydrate. We also have a large capacity dehydrator and that is much more efficient for things like apples. With those reservations I have enjoyed playing with the freeze dryer and the foods that have come out of it. More technical issues then I have wished. Mostly with the touch screen. Know that when you are outside of your warranty to talk with a trained technician cost 49$.

We finally purchased a large capacity freeze dryer from Harvest Right.

These units are very professional. The pumps are quiet and the system is easy to operate.

Harvey’s right actually just released a brand new unit that does double what my large capacity freeze dryer can do. And the cost of that unit isn’t much more then the large one we have. It’s a great buy.

We are considering one for our next purchase to boost our emergency food supply even faster.

Harvest right has a candy freeze drying feature also. The kids love the candy, as well as the fresh freeze dried foods that we freeze dry. The fruits can be easily rehydrated for use in cooking, chilled and out in any recipes it’s called for, rehydrated and baked in pies… whatever you can think of creating; you freeze dried veggies and fruits can be used just as easily. Or they can simply be eaten straight from their package!

There is absolutely no way that anyone can have the huge supply of emergency food that someone can produce personally with the Harvest Right freeze dryers, personally, at home, away a lower cost of production.

Harvest Right has all of the necessary supplies and equipment someone needs to safely and efficiently package freeze dried foods, that lasts up to twenty five years. That’s a shelf life of twenty five years!

Imagine roasting a nice roast, with all of your favorite seasonings and your own special favorite gravy

We received our Medium Harvest Right a few weeks ago. It was delivered on a pallet (~250 lbs.) without damage. All items were in the shipment; nothing was missing. I initially had a couple of questions which were quickly and professionally answered by knowledgeable representatives. I have run several loads for a "get to know" the unit. I found youtube videos that were also quite informative. I feel like the unit will be just what we need for the summer greenhouse produce.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Got a HarvestRight Freeze Dryer for Christmas. Not a “prepper” but we are concerned about possible food shortages in the future. My husband is a diabetic and we need to insure he has the food he can eat to stay healthy. We have a vacuum sealer, but there are advantages to the FD.

However, got to say, there’s a learning curve with the FD if you’re new to the food storage game. Had some initial problems. Found out we initially had the wrong version of the software when we couldn’t successfully run the functional test. We thought it was a vacuuming leak, so we spent some time trying to solve it, but then called HR customer service and Milos identified our problem as the old sotfware version and sent us what we needed. Problem solved!

Then, our impluse sealer wouldn’t seal. Again, contacted customer service, and after providing Chaz the information needed, immedicately got a replacement. Very satisfied with the customer service provided by HarvestRight. And, while we’re still learning the ins and outs of freeze drying, we’re very happy with the dryer and the support behind the product.

This should be a rating of zero as this has been a horrible and extremely frustrating experience. Purchased a large dryer and it didn’t make it out of the bread run. A consumer should not have to make fixes to a machine that is brand new. Harvest Right expects the consumer to become the service tech.

For the cost of this machine, all these “fixes” should have been done at the factory. I’m surprised there are so many 5 star ratings as all you need to do is join a couple Facebook groups and you will quickly see that Harvest Right has issues. I wish I would have joined them prior to my purchase. So disappointed!!

Hands down this is the best way to preserve food for the future. We’d give it 5 stars, but we had an “inadequate vacuum” issue at first. Harvest Right technical support guided us to fix the problem, and we are waiting for compensation for the trouble we underwent.

Aside from the initial vacuum issue and the initial cost of the freeze dryer, it works great! We think it’ll be worth the investment in the future!
