Come this April I will have had my Harvestright FD for one year. My first impression was how well it was packaged and the quality of the workmanship. I will be completely honest over the 9 months or so that I've owned it I have had two issues. Both were resolved by working with there Customer Service Reps and Technical support over the phone and honestly, now I really know and understand my machine. So all in all Great Company and Great Support. I would recommend this to anyone considering a Freeze Dryer or anyone worried about where our economy is headed.

Our Harvest Right freeze dryer is one of the best investments we have ever made. The only problem we have had is the pump started leaking, but we called John at customer service and he took great care of me and got a new pump shipped out.

I would definitely recommend.

Harvest Right has great customer support. We had to silicone the epoxy of our 4 month old machine. The instruction video that Harvest Right sent was easy to follow. I feel like I know my machine better. It is working without a hitch now.

You already water bath or pressure can this method is so much healthier. I have nothing but positive to say so far. In fact I'm saving for another to preserve meats.

The Harvest Right Freeze Drier is a game changer for me. I have pressure canned and dehydrated for years hands down the freeze-dried beats pressure canning or dehydrating in nutrients, over all appearance of the food and rehydrating.

Love that you can do raw or cooked meat, raw hamburger for me is better once rehydrated is same as if you picked up a pack of burger at the store. Learning tricks will make the experience much easier. Freeze the trays of food before putting into machine will cut the time down by almost half in most cases. The plastic covers are worth getting, you can use the plastic wrap, but it will cost you more than the tray covers in the long run.

Do not get cheap mylar bags! Cheap mylar bags have pin holes in them, check with a flashlight in a dark room shine in the bag and see. I chose only Harvest Right as my choice for mylar bags. Go through all that work and put into cheap Mylar bags will cost you more when you need it most. I defrost the machine myself with a 7 inch fan up against the open door soon as the ice starts to come off the sides, I remove by hand this will extend the machine as the water is acidic that melts off and eats the parts over time and will have to be replaced and it helps with the electrical bill by doing the defrost yourself and doesn't take as much time.

I have done so much with this machine and even fun food like marshmallows and watermelon. You can do whole meals or separate ingredients, up to you that you will use and have purpose for. Stay away from oily foods, remove as much fat and possible before freeze drying. If you get a freeze dryer have fun with it!

I am so impressed with my Harvest Right Freeze Drier. The food comes out amazing and even more delightful to eat in some cases, than the fresh stuff. Love the CRUNCH and find I am eating more veggies because I like the crunchy snack. This is not a hobby it is a necessity to preserve food for long term and buy when it is on sale. Added Bonus.... LOVE the Harvest Right company as well. A small American company with old fashion customer service . Amazing!!!

I just love my harvest right freeze dryer. I have been able to freeze dry homemade meals and send to my mission in the mission field so he has some of home with him while serving to help with his home sickness. I love what it has to offer and you won't regret buying one.

We have had our Harvest Right freeze dryer for about six months, and I have to say that it runs so smoothly now, it is a joy to use. For a few days, it wasn’t going through the cycle properly; en error message would be on the screen regarding the vacuum pump so always assumed that this was where the problem was. All components checked out good according to the checklist.

Lastly, we made an adjustment to the door hinge, which had been a little loose, and the error messages stopped, and it has been running just perfect. Customer service has been excellent, and the accessories that I have ordered are always shipped out quickly. I am so glad to have purchased this item from Harvest Right!

We had just received our Freeze Dryer and were SO excited to get going!!! I think it was user error, although Schyler was very sweet to explain that didn't put us to shame :-) We LOVE our new freeze dryer and Schyler was so quick to respond to our support ticket and worked with us over a couple days. We couldn't ask for more!!! The freeze dryer is incredible! and so far, so is the customer support!!

Freeze dried pineapple is a must to try in your lifetime! Arrived ahead of schedule and I have been using it constantly. I have saved so much food that would have gone to waste or taken up precious freezer space that is now occupied with more venison.

We just purchased this freeze dryer and have had great success (& fun) in using the freeze. Our product outcome has been great and the customer support has been excellent in answering questions and assisting us with trouble shooting. I would highly recommend this company.

Now that I have a functional unit I'm enjoying it. However I did not enjoy the 2 months of many phone calls, over 70 messages back and forth, a 2nd unit being sent and having to package up the 1st to go back (also, why would you not include a pallet to send it back on if that's how you want it?!) Instead asking me to go scrounge around dumpsters for one to strap a $3000 machine to?! In the end it was a faulty pump. Now trying to make sure the warranty is for the right period.

This product is awesome. I have had every question answered with the utmost courtesy and professionalism. The company has an unmatched dedication to the customers experience and needs, backed up by superlative customer support if any perceived difficulty appears they solve it.

This freeze dryer is awesome! We are new to food prepping, so we decided to purchase a Harvest Right freeze dryer unit a few months ago and I am really enjoying it. Thinking I would only use it occasionally, I find myself using it all the time. Drying time varies – usually between 18-36 hours. It’s fun and easy to use. So far, I have successfully dried fruits, veggies, meats, yogurt and eggs. I find grocery shopping more fun as I am always looking for new things to try. If food prepping is something you’re interested in, I recommend the Harvest Right freeze dryer.

My unit came with a vacum leak. Be prepared to service your unit for free for them. After 10 days we have found the leak and now I am waiting for parts.

Pretty simple operation. Push a couple buttons and presto instant camp food.

Okay it takes 35+ hours, the machine is heavy, bulky, hot, noisy.

All that said it's pretty cool that you can freeze dry meats, fruit and vegetables that store for years and that don't create freezer issues.

If you have the resources , it's not cheap, it certainly can pay for itself in stores foods.

We bought our large freeze dryer this past summer and we absolutely love it! We live on an Organic farm and grow most of our own food. The Freeze Dryer has been a huge asset in our adventures of storing and preserving the food that we grow. Every time we take out a batch we marvel at the end product and how the food tastes so good and the fact that it has so much of the nutrition still.

Excellent machine! There’s almost nothing you can’t freeze dry. Scrambled eggs, all vegetables, fruits, full meals (thanksgiving dinner including pumpkin pie!) Egg nog! You name it. Rehydrated food tastes great and maintains 95+ % nutrition. It’s all automatic and very intuitive. Tons of YouTube videos for ideas. Utah based customer service was excellent. Prompt, courteous, responsive with follow up! Big outlay but well worth it.

The harvest right freeze dryer is a good system as long as you follow the instructions precisely. Don’t skip oil changes or else you’ll ruin the pump. Adjust the door accordingly for correct pressure. Call customer service for any help you need, they’re quick to answer usually and nice!

I purchased the midsized freeze dryer. It worked fine for the first two batches and then I got a ‘mid batch heater failure’ warning. For the next TWO MONTHS, I went back and forth with the company, waiting on return calls, waiting for a phone appointment, waiting for parts several times, being my own technician in taking the machine apart and installing new parts… it was a nightmare! After all of that, they still wanted to continue trying different things but, I finally said enough is any, send me a new machine. They did so and the new machine has worked perfectly. I have been through about 20 batches now, so far so good. I would like to recommend this company/product but, I cannot unless they greatly improve their customer service model and also put technicians in the field. After spending all that money, and then waiting months to get my machine, and then having to waste 2 more months on repairs that didn’t work before finally getting a working machine… think before you invest. Crossing my fingers that this one holds up!
