Harvest Right Freeze Dryer Reviews

We have purchased several harvest right freeze dryers and will continue to add more to our “collection.” The company are excellent at trouble shooting problems while under warranty, and are even there to support your purchase after that period. Customer service is well organized, and you can expect help from them on a schedule, so you’re not waiting around all day for a call.

As for the machines, we save vs purchasing ready made meals, and know the exact ingredients.

We love our harvest right freeze dryer! It has made preserving the produce from our farm super easy. From fruit and vegetables, to eggs and meat, and even fun treats like candy and ice cream. After the initial learning curve getting to know the machine it's really fun to experiment with new ideas. We use ours for practical purposes like short and long term food storage for emergencies and we make all kinds of treats for everyday use. I am really looking forward to this year's gardening season to make sure none of the produce goes to waste and have that food available all year long.

I have the small 3 tray version. I chose this unit as it needed to fit in the 8x20ft solar trailer I built. With inverter and batteries I can freeze dry for free (off grid) and store food without refrigeration in the trailer. So far I have done steaks, raw milk, and strawberries in the first week. Takes typically about 24 hours for milk and less for foods.

I'm extremely happy with my harvest right machine. It allows me to take leftover dinner and save it for the next 20 years! I've made dozens of different recipes and amass quite a stockpile of shelf stable food. Also, great for healthy sweet treats fort the kiddos, they always love some freeze-dried strawberries! I've ran over 100 cycles without issue. then when there finally was an issue HR was quick to get my problem fixed.

I love it. It is very easy to use. It is GREAT for travel. We eat a low carb diet, and eating out on trips has been difficult. Now we can save money and time by bringing the foods we want to eat. Traveling to Europe we were able to bring our own low carb versions of pizza, chili, sloppy joes, taco meat, black beans, cheddar cheese, milk, eggs, fruit, yogurt, and more. The food is so light too, which also makes it good for travel and camping.

Love my harvest right freeze dryer! It has performed flawlessly so far, and the few questions I have had as a new owner have been addressed by customer service quickly and thoroughly. I would recommend harvest right to my friends and family without hesitation.

We love our Harvest Right freeze dryer! Now we can save money on food that would otherwise be wasted. We save more money by buying in bulk and using our freeze dryer to safely store extras. Makes great easy to carry camping & backpacking meals. So many ways to save time & money.

Our family has decided to work on emergency preparedness and after much thinking, research and even a call to HarvestRight to ask additional questions, we decided to make the purchase.

We are amazed at how easy it was to setup and how easy is to operate. More importantly, the final product did not disappoint!! Food is tasty, flavor is same as fresh! Our biggest problem is that once a batch finishes we can’t pack food fast enough before our kids come and start snacking on the freeze dried food.

We have had the freeze dryer for a couple of years- been great -no problem till now. It can be quite loud so Suggest having in a room where you can close the door. Plus the batch can finish at any time- day or night; difficult to time. Just recently started having technical issues but customer service has been very diligent in helping us resolve the problem and get the machine working again. We were offered company credit to submit a review but the word content is my own.

I’ve had my medium harvest right Freeze…

I’ve had my medium harvest right Freeze dryer a year in a half. I completed 58 batches of meats, vegetables, and fruits. I garden and plan to use it for my harvest this Fall. Right now, I’m having some issues with it and am working with Shai, who is really kind and patient. I’m sure it will be resolved the soonest and I’ll be ready for my Fall harvest

We purchased our Medium HarvestRight freeze dryer March 20, 2023. Its ran every other day for 3 weeks now and we love it! So far we have done eggs, berries, celery, onion, red and green peppers, ground hamburger and hamburger patties! Setup was very straightforward and the instruction manual is very easy to follow. The kit that comes with it is quality. The impulse sealer (amazing tool), oxygen absorbers, and mylar bags. Everything you need to get started. We are very happy customers!

I am a country girl and have always wanted a freeze dryer. I’ve canned all my life and gardened. This has been the best added product for our life style. I’ve had a few hiccups along the way, but patients persevered. With harvest rights technical support we have been able to fix all problems the biggest being a vacuum era. I am more comfortable with my machine now due to all the work they had me do to locate the vacuum leak. I feel confident now, and going forward if I would have another breakdown I can fix or trace the problem myself. Looking forward to this summer’s harvest and all the snacks I can make along the way the grandkids nieces and nephews love their snacks.

We ordered our first freeze dryer and it took it a bit to come in due to high demand! We understood, it came and the delivery was kind and helpful! We unloaded the machine set it up and did our first bread run and have had no issues. We absolutely love our harvest right. So much to the point we have now purchased a second one. Thank you harvest right ! The second one came within two weeks! We love our machines and the products that came with it such as trays and our sealers.

Yes it expensive but well worth it. I have saved so much money by not throwing food away. We purchased the medium at the end of gardening season (September) so I am super excited to have it for the entire season this year.

We bought our freeze dryer in Oct '21 and it has been a work horse!

Our machine worked great right out of the box and we were able to freeze dry LOTS of foods and treats!

It's great to save extra food we get on sale by freeze drying and saving for later.

We have run about 140 loads and have had absolutely no issues until all of a sudden, our demister started allowing a lot of oil mist into the air.

We are working with Harvest Right to resolve the problem and look forward to MANY more loads!

I purchased a second hand freeze dryer which works as expected. I got the large one and had to wait for an electrical to put in a dedicated 110 plug. works like a charm now. I even called customer service to get the updated driver for the candy mode and he emailed me the correct one. It was a bit confusing on the website so I was happy they helped me figure it out and that I can't use any larger than a 16 MB thumb drive. good to know! Thanks Harvest Right!

I’ve had my freeze dryer for a few years and I love it. I can buy in bulk and freeze dry what I will not use right away. When there’s a sale on apples, I will buy 25 pounds of apples to freeze dry. I will make large quantities of chili, and freeze dry that. We have also done custard(for those of you that do not know custard it’s like ice cream). I have also done lasagna, spaghetti, beef, stew, skittles, cheese, pizza, corn, asparagus, broccoli, basil, oregano, and the list goes on. I have also done peeps like the kind you put an Easter baskets and the kids just love those. Harvest Right has also been very helpful when I’ve had issues with my machine. Any parts that I have needed have been shipped out to me within a few days. I own the large machine with the oil less pump. Customer service has been awesome anytime I’ve called. Thank you, Harvest Right.

We recently bought a harvest right freeze dryer. Our first run was unsuccessful but we had amazing help from the people at harvest right and quickly and efficiently got the problem resolved and are up and running. So far our freeze dryer is wonderful and the customer service has been great! Will recommend to anyone!

We purchased our freeze dryer and up to this date have completed 64 cycles. Our dryer is the medium size one and the support from Harvest Right is outstanding. We had a couple of issues but they were successfully and expediently resolved by the support team. Harvest Right dryers are such a valuable way to store food for years. We have recommended the units to all of our friends and currently seven have purchased their own dryers.

I bought the medium Harvest Right Freeze Dryer, and it is hands down one of the best investments I've made. It was very simple to set up and get started. That being said, you need to understand it is not a turnkey device. You have to maintain the vacuum pump (which means filtering the oil after every few batches). This is not hard, but it is necessary to maintain the pump and keep the freeze dryer working properly. I was very surprised at how quiet the machine runs. Sure it is not silent, but I expected it to be much louder. Freeze dryers also generates a lot of heat, so I keep a small fan blowing in the room when I use the freeze dryer. This keeps the heat down as well as improves the drying time. Finally, when it comes to freeze drying, practice makes perfect. I am very happy I made this purchase, and look forward to the many benefits expect to enjoy for years to come.
