Freezing Issue
Our L Freeze Dryer stopped freezing. I believe the Condenser gave up the Ghost. Harvest Right did replace our Freeze Dryer {Good Thing}. They do need to work on their PR on Customers issues and keep them better informed. We are using our New Freeze Dryer Daily.

Well worth the cost!
Have run a couple loads through my medium sized freeze dryer this week. What a great investment! I have been buying freeze dried veggies and meats in bulk to use during our hiking trips for over 10 years. The problem was things were sometimes out of stock or we wanted something that just wasn't available on the market. Now we can make any vegetable or even better, spice up our meat before drying.
Most importantly I want to say that the customer service at Harvest Right is top notch! I had some specific questions and called them today. Deserae answered my call. She was chipper, knowledgeable, helpful and took care of all of my questions. It was really nice that the support team is here in America, making being understood and understanding her no issue at all.
I would recommend these home freeze driers to anyone who has a real need to preserve food this way. The super customer service I received today lets me know, if I ever have any questions or issues with my dryer they will be taken care of quickly.

My machine was fairly new when I got an "unable to achieve vacuum" type error message. I immediately contacted Harvest Right and they assigned me a technician named Maria. Maria was AMAZING. She was extremely responsive and she patiently walked me thru the entire process of testing various things that could be causing the error message until we isolated the problem as a leak going into the vacuum chamber. She sent me very detailed videos on how to fix the leak, and even reimbursed me for my costs of things needed to fix the problem. I LOVE my Harvest Right Freeze dryer and Maria was awesome.

Not impressed/happy
Saddens me to write this review because I had really high hopes for this freeze dryer. The first issue started right away with the bread test. It took 36 hours for the bread test before I decided to cancel the run and turn the machine off as there was no end in sight. I called harvest right and felt like I didn’t get much support with figuring out the issue. I was told the dryer wasn’t updated to the newest firmware which was very upsetting.
I paid a lot of $, why would I be sent a freeze dryer that didn’t have the latest firmware? I was told I needed to go buy a flash drive, download the firmware and then plug it up to the freeze dryer and it would update automatically. Well it did not. I called again and they didn’t have a technician available to help me for the next 5 days!!! That was very upsetting.
I decided to try a run of fruit while I waited for the five days for someone to help me update my freeze dryer. The fruit took about 28 hours to complete the cycle. When finished, the fruit looked horrible. It had exploded inside the freeze dryer. It left a mess behind. I had blueberries, plums, strawberries and grapes on the trays. The grapes came out very sticky and pruny like they were turning into raisins, they did not maintain their shape nor did the plums, the plums completely burst open and are now unusable so I’ve wasted my money on most of the fruit bought. The blueberries also burst open.
The only thing that did well were the strawberries. I’m very very disappointed, for such a high amount of cost I feel like I haven’t gotten much support in using the dryer and I’m not impressed with either of the first two runs. If I don’t get any real help and see better results I will be returning my freeze dryer unfortunately.
