My hubby signed with Angi Leads to do furniture repair. Soon afterwards he developed severe joint problems and has been unable to stand and work for very long. He called and cancelled with Angi Leads. IMAGINE OUR SHOCK when on July 7, 2022 ANGI LEADS TOOK $1,155.00 out of our checking account WITHOUT AUTHORIZATION OR NOTIFICATION. We were told this was a penalty for cancelling the contract early.

One representative told us to get a doctor’s note. We did.

Whenever we call we get a different rep, who can't find our information in the system, although it's been provided to every single one we called. Letters to CEO Olsin Hanrahan, have not been answered. You’d think they’d realize that not only do we need OUR MONEY more than they do, but also realize that to withdraw money from someone’s account without notification is probably ILLEGAL.

This is not a company we trust, and we will be reporting this problem to more than social media and reviews. DON'T SIGN WITH ANGI LEADS. It's expensive, you won't get work, and you won't ever see your money if they take it.

I think I was Scammed !!!

I am to old to crawl under sinks or change out toilet so I called Angi’s list for help. After I explained my needs they charged me $383 and assured me this was for the plumbing service. I got a call from a local plumber indicating they will give me an estimate for the work after a fee is paid them for coming out.

Angi told me the work would cost $383 only so when the plumber said they would give me an estimate???

I THINK I WAS SCAMMED BY ANGI’S LIST

Horrible experience as a Pro on Angi.

Long story made short: charged initial $288 just to join, every lead was bogus after I stopped my leads, I was charged for "opportunity" leads that they said "someone in my organization clicked on, I AM THE ONLY ONE IN MY ORGANIZATION.

When I asked for credits I was told No because even though the customers had already completed the job, I was to try and "sell myself" BUT...if I would agree to keep getting leads that only then would they help me but if i wanted to cancel I was to receive no help.

I called every lead and emailed within one minute of getting them. I even asked if this would be a problem before I signed up and was told no by salesman and my concierge, which when I called him to ask questions he would immediately call back, when I left an email and voice message to tell him I was not happy......crickets.

Racked up over $700 leads, NOT ONE LEGIT! I use other lead companies and have never been this upset. They will not help you, greedy company, snakes in the grass!

PLEASE do not waist your money like I did. The reviews on here are absolutely right on. Such scammers! If there was anyway to get my money back I would!

A one star is too much for this company. I signed up online had a rep call and get all my info so I could get my washer fixed by a so-called PRO. That was a joke, he was far from a pro of anything let alone a washer repairman.

He told me he was a maintenance man for a rental location in our town. He did try to at least diagnose what was wrong with the washer. Which after 4hours he could not do. We had called Angi 2 during his visit told them he could not fix the machine.

They said well he has to lol. He told them he did not have tools or the parts to fix it nor did he know what was causing the problem. They told me I would be charged for the visit due to my booking online and once that happen to call back for a refund.

I did just that and I am still waiting to get a refund. They charged my credit card $280.31 for nothing. This guy did not even know what was wrong with my washer. I ended up calling the same repair man he called while he was at my house trying to figure out what was wrong with it. Now I will end up paying this guy 200 plus for his work and who knows if this Angi place will ever issue the refund.

I already notified my bank of everything that transpired. They have an open case against Angi services. PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS PLACE IT IS FRAUDULENT...No Pro, No Service, equals No Money in your bank account.

I try to get a leak on my roof fixed. So, I went online Angi list popped up. So I filled out a form and I thought I was done someone was coming to fix the leak in the roof. Not so fast. I have to give them more information, but they already say it would be $470 and he would be there 8 o'clock the 23th of September.

So, I try. But it just didn't take the info. So I end up calling Angi. They gave me the contractors phone number . I talked to him first he tells me he can't make it at 8. I ask him when you can make it, He said 10 am.

So, the day comes no show. I ended up cancelling and wasting the whole time. Never again. When they send out a work order. The contractor should call me to set the time he can come. They should not be telling him when he can be there.

Terrible company so disappointing. I need a packer to pack a kitchen and half a living room. They advertise Pros...Liars this young man had never packed up anything except his own move

He used bubble wrap on books and canned goods. Did not complete the job. They do not send pros. Pros do not need this company to get jobs. Then they wanted me to rate my cleaning service. So Disgusting

Customer service was worthless

RUN AWAY FROM ANGI! This company advertises "happiness guaranteed" which is totally false advertisement. Not all contractors they referred are vetted despite what Angi tells you.

They tell you they only referred contractors with 4 or 5 stars reviews, this is a huge lie. This was my first (and last) time working with contractors referred to me by Angi and these two contractors destroyed my house, never finished kitchen work, flooring.

They didn't show up one day because of personal problems and another day they left in the middle of the day because of more personal problems. My house was left a disaster and now after two weeks and filing a formal complaint, Angi advised me that "happiness is not guaranteed".

After sending Angi numerous detailed emails with pictures of terrible incomplete work, they do not want to put anything in writing. I have gotten two calls from specialist assigned to this case and he hasn't resolved anything in two weeks.

DO NOT HIRE ANYONE FROM ANGI if you want happiness in your life.

I wouldn't give it one star if I didn't have to. I prepaid $369 for painting my family room (a discount for joining), 16x26 with 9' ceiling. Time estimated was 6 hours as I did all the prep work. "Robert" put one coat of paint on the walls, trimmed the top of one wall and left at 6 hours.

He stayed busy but he was slow. Angi sent an odd jobs man who sometimes paints, not a pro, though they said he was. His old roller left bits and paint roller edges on the wall that I have to sand off and he got paint on the ceiling from the roller in many places.

They contacted me to see how the job went and I never heard from them again. I find it difficult to contact them. I should get a refund but I'm not holding my breath. I will never use them again.

This review is not about the work itself but about the customer service. I have a membership & was looking through their services for electrical repair, but when asked whether I was ready to make a commitment I checked that I was still at the “Planning & Budgeting” stage.

Nonetheless I got a phone call from one of their “pros” wanting to set up the job. I told him I had not made a commitment yet & there must be some mistake. He shouted at me saying, “Your mistake cost me $41!” and then he hung up when I tried to explain.

I wanted to know was whether it Is true that I cost him $41, so I wrote to the email given on their website (where it says “Someone will get back to you in 24 hours”) and asked that they please let me know.

That was the 22nd of August. Today is the 30th & I still have not heard back from them.

This morning, I called and was shunted from one person to the next who truly did not seem to understand what I was saying. (It probably wasn’t on the Call Script).

Anyway, I give up. I canceled my membership because they don’t seem to have the vaguest idea of what a “happiness guarantee” might entail. It was all very frustrating.

I was charged for services before the date of the service. I cancelled the service two days before the date of Service. I have sent an email to Anji and still haven’t heard back. This smells like a scam

Angi has to be the biggest farce since it was taken over. If you are thinking of using this service read these reviews. Angi has hundred of complaints with the Better Business Bureau and the Consumer Fraud Bureau. I will share my experience.

If you haven't seen their web site it indicates your credit card will not be charged until service is rendered and a 100% refund if the customer is not satisfied. The day I booked their handyman service my credit card was charged.(not what their web site indicates)

Their handyman showed up and was at my home for less than 5 minutes and said he could not do the job, it was too big for him. When I contacted Angi they gave me a very difficult time in reversing the charge on my credit card.

After I complained to the NYS Attorney Generals office I finally received the credit to my charge card and a email from Angi that said I could never use their service again, like I would want to.

I waited 28 minutes to speak to one of their representatives the first time and 18 minutes the second time, and 21 minutes the third time. I could not understand the foreign speaking customer service person and left frustrated.

It wasn't until I complained to the Attorney Generals office that I received satisfaction. Angi should be embarrassed for their unscrupulous business practices., It was a good service when it was Angi's List. Never, ever use this service, trust me its not worth the hassle and rude people you would deal with.

Buyer Beware!!! If you use Angi, you can not pay with cash, Angi requires a credit/debit card. I soon discovered why. I called Angi about having some work done and received a quote in my email.

The people Angi dispatched, looked at the project and quoted $1,000 over the original quote. I refused to have the work done. You can imagine my surprise when I received my credit card statement listing the original quote amount.

Angi ran the original quote amount without even waiting to see if the work was done. Talk about fraud. Billing said they would send through a credit (after being on hold for thirty minutes) in a few days.

When the credit was sent though, it wasn't for the full amount. Angi withdrew the $29.99 membership fee. At this point I'm not sure if I'm going to bother trying to get that membership fee back. It's not like I would ever use Angi, again. Nor, would I ever recommend these people for anything.

Hammond Services,

When I called in yesterday morning, I mentioned the $99 special I saw online. The ad said it included unclogging the drain line and scoping the line with a camera. I was in no hurry, just had a slow drain and would like for it to be cleared.

The woman that I was speaking with informed me that was just for residential (we are a small commercial building with two toilets, which is significantly less than 80% of the residential households in our area). She said that the service call would be $150, plus any work they had to do.

The service man came out and looked at the situation for about 10 minutes. Imagine my surprise when he proceeded to tell me the cost would be over $1100!! Over 10X the price shown online for the same work? For a slow drain that just needed an auger run through for likely less than 30'!!

I passed on the offer and sent this information to Angi's List, where Hammond has such a high rating. It makes me wonder about both Hammond and Angi's List...

Our business, Yellowstone Radon, signed up for Angie Leads in Sept. 2021, since then Angie Leads has withdrawn approximately $1,572.02 from our business account— with the majority of that amount being withdrawn without our authorization.

When we got the call from a customer representative to sign us up for your service we were told that “We would not pay a dime unless we pursued, or clicked on, a lead”. We, in good faith, trusted that Angie Leads was taking out the correct amount of money from our business account when a lead was occasionally pursued.

However, upon close inspection of our account, we have found fraud by Angi Leads on an unprecedented level. Money was taken from our account even though the service was not used. There are months where we have been charged hundreds of dollars for not using Angie Leads services.

We’ve got every lead we have taken and compared it to the charges by your company and it does not add up. It seems that we were charged per lead sent to us not whether we pursued a lead… We would have never signed up for a service of that nature as it is not a good business model.

We have tried to cancel our service and report this issue through the customer service phone line and have got nothing but the run-around. No one seems to be able to can solve this issue and the integrity platform returned an email but will not release the recorded phone call in which we were lied too.

They claim that we signed up for a service that charges us twice, when we get the lead and when we agree to pursue it. Any recorded phone conversation will prove that we never agreed to those terms. EVEN AFTER CANCELLING OUR ACCOUNT WE WE CHARGED AGAIN FOR $32.33. Do not use these services.

I am a small contractor starting a small handyman business.

On it's face Angi charges ME a fee to connect me with you to execute a handyman job. Cool right?!

What's not cool.

- They give your name to 4-6 contractors who then have to fight to get you.

- They charge us 20-60% of the gross job, immediately. Even before we talk to you. Even if we loose, we are charged.

The result

- you get pestered to death by us because we are already charged and running to win/complete jobs just to cover the costs.

- we have to raise rates to you, increasing your costs. That 40$ simple blocked drain is now 100$. It does not result in us lowering costs.

- We are encouraged to upsell to cover the sales lead cost. ask any business man. Sales should not be 40% of gross income.

I scheduled Angi to come out 6/29. No one ever showed up. I called and wrote, etc.... then they went ahead and charged my card even though no service was ever provided!

IT GETS BETTER ..... they re-scheduled service for guy to come out 7/4 (JULY 4th!!) without my knowledge or consent - I was out of town for holiday!

OMG this company is screwed up! I am trying to get my money back and also cancel my membership. Then they sent me an email with phone number to contact -- it was wrong number lol - like how messed up can you be??

Their Happiness Guarantee means nothing. I hired Angi to have a handyman sent out to repair my closet shelf/rack that was coming off the wall. The person they sent out the next day came in, looked at the job and asked for wood screws.

The handyman that came out did not have supplies (basic wood screws) with him. When I explained I did not have any he left for Home Depot and returned with two packages of woodscrews. He then proceeded to work on the closet.

About a half hour later he told me he used the screws to support the shelf/rack but that it was not secure enough for use and that the whole system would need to be removed and replaced. JOB NOT COMPLETE.

When I called Angi to let them know I was not happy with the service I am requesting my money back through the Happiness Guarantee I was told I would be refunded.

Two days later I notice charges on my card for the work and they were $30 more than agreed. After 7 phone calls, I still do not have a resolution to the charges.

I booked a move-out cleaning through Home Service, which is apparently also Angi.com. Scheduled two weeks ahead of time and was assigned a "pro" to complete the job. I was supposed to be able to communicate with the "pro" through the Angi app, but went back and forth with tech support a half dozen times before I was even able to log in to view my pending project.

On the day of the job, the "pro" still had not shown up 30 minutes after the job was supposed to start. He had not called or texted and was not answering text message sent through the app. The "Call Me" link sent me to Angi customer service.

The Angi CSR said this job was through Home Advisor and transferred me to their customer service line, which immediately hung up on me. I called Angi back and was told they needed 48 hours to reschedule with another "pro". Since I did not have 48 hours before the move-out deadline, I had to cancel the job entirely and book with another service that costs twice as much since it is now on extremely short notice.

Terrible customer service. Worst company I have ever dealt with. They don't do the work, take your money, and you can't even reach a person to complain. DO NOT USE THEM. You WILL regret it if you do.

I was not surprised as I read these reviews...

I used Angi to find a painter. I was given 3 options to get a quote (one of which was Angi) and only requested a quote from one company, Bravo painting.

The next morning, even before Bravo had a chance to contact me, Angi called, trying to get the project for themselves, using a project manager who would hire the company THEY wanted to.

I said I would wait for the quote I requested. When Bravo came to quote the work, I told Joe what had transpired. He thanked me, as he had been feeling for some time that Angi wasn't worth the money.

They were charged for the "lead" when I asked for the quote, and then they tried to steal the business! I will NEVER use Angi again and am telling all my friends and family not to as well.
