Angi quotes the time you will be paid for by the number of tasks that the client wants done. Which by the way, is impossible to do. To add insult , they won't pay you a damn thing for the hours that you stayed longer than the time they quoted for completing tasks asked of client. Then after that, if you want to get paid the same day you did the job......They charge you for it! They have a section telling you the kinds of fees you could incur. $10 fee just for being a few minutes late! Here comes the worst part.....Client gets charged $140 for your services.........Angi only gives you $47 of that.

Angi is a major scam that specifically preys on seniors who need help taking care of their property. We paid in advance for leaf removal and booked an appointment. Two trifling individuals showed up late with no truck and no equipment. They didn’t do the work, left after telling us they were going “to get a U-Haul” and never came back.

Angi is a waste of time and a bigger waste of money. I signed up to find a plumber, and a plumbing company contacted me through Angi. I booked the plumber using Angi's website, and it turns out the plumber was a scam.

I contacted Angi to tell them to remove the plumber from their website. I was not asking for a refund, just that they remove the plumber so that no one else gets scammed. I even supported all the necessary documentation, project number, etc.

None of the Angi customer service representatives acknowledged what I said, instead they passed me through 4 different customer service agents, all giving me automated copy-pasted response. 16 emails later and they still are sending me generic responses that have nothing to do with my issue. They clearly do not care to help their customers.

Just as another reviewer put, Angi never fails to disappoint.

Review for Bassett Home Heating, Inc.: In early February of 2022, John Bassett of Bassett Home Heating, Inc., the representative of the family-owned and operated heating and cooling company, responded when I asked for an estimate to remove an old gas furnace and install a new gas furnace and an air-conditioner in its place. John showed up on time and discussed the project in detail. In addition to the fact that Bassett featured American Standard products, I was impressed by the 3-year maintenance agreement (A/C and furnace) I could purchase wherein a company representative would stop by each winter and each summer to maintain our new furnace and air-conditioner. I requested that the furnace and A/C be installed before June and they were installed on May 23 by John’s son, David Bassett. David showed up with a 3-man crew and the installation was completed in less than a day. I was impressed by the competence and professionalism of the installation. Bassett was able to use my existing programmable thermostat (which was fairly new), and David took the time to explain how to operate it for the furnace (heat) and the air-conditioner (cool). The air-conditioner and the furnace have both operated exceptionally well throughout the summer, fall, and upcoming winter. I would rate the total experience as 4 out of 5 stars. Although the products and installation were top notch, communication with the office was inconsistent. I paid the revised balance of my bill shortly after installation (which was less because a new thermostat was not needed). I was told that there were computer problems when I called, emailed or left voicemails requesting a copy of the revised invoice as proof of payment that I could supply to Puget Sound Energy for an energy rebate. Five weeks after installation, I received a revised second invoice and updated paperwork in the mail.

On 11/28/22 I Paid $29..99 to join Angi Service to have my ducts cleaned. I had a appointment set up on 12/2, 12/3, 12/6 12/9 all canceled, when I went in to check my bank account on 12/01/22 $207.18 and $25.00 were taken out of my account.

I asked them why when I was told nothing would be taken out until work was done No work was done so the said they would refund me $207.18 and they only refunded me $177.19 which is $29.99 short and also asked them why they charged me $25.00, they said it was a cancellation fee, I never canceled anything.

So they finally refunded me the $25.00 then, still owe me $29.99 from the $207.18 charge, now I'm mad, I told them I want my $29.99 back that I paid to join, they did refund me this, but still waiting for $29.99 from the 1st charge, I email them everyday, call them everyday and all I do is get the run around, I just don't want anyone else to go through what I have had to do. Needed a bathroom remodel. Was taken in by the tv ads. Signed up with Angie to send someone out for estimate. Small bathroom had already had demolition done and cabinets installed by myself before I was injured. I needed toilet and mirrors and a shower to replace the tub. They sent someone out who claimed to have 25 years experience. That was a complete lie. A job that he claimed would take 3wks went past 3 months b4 he stopped showing up. Called Angie to file a claim and from there all I got was a complete runaround !! There is much more I could report but I’d be typing forever! Angi is a complete scam and a waste of your good money!!

35% of the balance to cancel an online service? I do not recommend you spend your money with Angi Ads. Our experience was horrible. We received many leads but only got to talk to a couple (They claim that we weren't following up correctly which is not the case) and many of those were upset that we called them. I was told by my account rep that many of the leads were coming from Home Advisor their affiliate company. All I know is that I wasted a large portion of our advertising budget on Angi's and now have to pay a penalty to cancel. Fortunately it only cost me $10k to learn this lesson. I almost signed up for much more.

What's on my mind? "Angie's List", which after civil suits metamorphosed into plain old "Angie, Inc." to protect from future failure to do what you promise suits (2014 $2.8 million and 2016 $1.4 million for double talking and charging credit cards like thieves in the night).. .. then the firm sold itself & renamed: "ANGI Homeservices Inc."

.... I mention that because of the sting of embarrassment at accepting the oft repeated television and radio advertisements promise of Angi / Homeservices having recruited and vetted licensed honorable contractors to do any and all construction around a home.

Leading to a expensive relationship with Angie. Military type son-in-law just bought his first house (Elizabeth City, N.C.). They have dogs, did not have a fence. House warming gift of a fence would be grand! Who to call? Angie must be good, she tells all about how she and those she refers can be trusted ..."Her" website states as if fact that "Background Checks" are done on every business principal which includes a third party professional checking criminal records ("a National Criminal Database"), civil records, business licensing and filings, as well as "ratings from homeowners". ( I later learned Angi's 'go to' source of contractors is Home Depot's standing list, nothing more. )

Angi Homeservices provided referrals of two contractors. Former Floridian Marcus Wayne Quintana representing Black Diamond Home Services LLC showed up quickly, talked fast, contracted to install the fence, took a couple of grand "for materials" to appear at the job site in days.

.... No surprise now, .. no materials. Neither (expletive) Quintana nor his girlfriend / company owner Cassandra Leah Fischer returned phone calls much less built a fence.

.... Simple, after the fact back checking on Angi Homeservices at Wikipedia, securities and exchange commission (it is a 'public company', 'listed' on wall street), and plain old Yelp. Try "Angie's List + Fraud" to understand why filing complaints / demands ' to 'be made whole' were a waste of time.

.... And local law enforcement has been on the trail to get a warrant for contractor fraud for weeks without anything resembling a hint of when Quintana can expect to see a judge.

Bottom Line ... ANGIE'S LIST / ANGI HOMESERVICES is an outfit that is not honorable. Black Diamond Home Services is but one more unlicensed thief in the night.

Don't get referrals from ANGI HOMESERVICES .. .Tell your aged neighbors to check the Putnam County used to have a list of licensed contractors but I couldn't find it tonight. Demand to see licenses and proof of insurance ... and reference who is happy before becoming another victim. Call Codes Enforcement and ask. ... Anything except ANGI's LIST HOMESERVICES!

Horrible operation -- AVOID this company at all costs. READ THE REVIEWS. They claimed to have come by my house and "waited 30 minutes". They did NOT come by, but were very quick to charge my credit card nearly $200 (which I will vigorously dispute). DO NOT engage this operation or you will almost certainly sorry.

Absolutely Professional and know their business. Twice they saved us when two other plumbing companies failed! They will be the ONLY plumbers I call now!

Try thumbtack instead this is an Absolute scam. I wish I could post videos of the fake phone numbers they sent me. Customer service is not helpful and refuses to take my videos and make it right. I canceled my account and deleted the app and they continued to send me leads until I paid my over due balance. So they just kept running up a tab until they called me saying they are sending my information to a 3rd party collections company. Absolutely horrendous experience.

This company, power washed my basement/cement block walls, removed old ceiling tile, and painted the walls, they did an excellent job. My basement looks and smells cleaner.

The same leads are given to multiple contractors. I know I was 1 of 5 in Boise Id given the same lead at $80. HAD ANOTHER FOR $135 NO CONTACT, STILL CHARGED, NO CREDIT.

Good for Angi bad for contractors.

Scam. 100%, no questions asked Scam. Charged me to join the service, 29.99, charged me 262.99 for a job that cost 212.00. Sent someone to my home to do the work, that charged the 212.00 then Angi charged 262.99 to my card and when I complained planned to charge me 25.00 for cancelling. After a long while on the phone they agreed to "as a one time courtesy" not charge me yet while I was on the phone with them proceeded to charge me. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!

My Fix it and Home Repair did an Awesome job hanging our interior doors. They were timely, and professional - and nice! Would recommend to anyone.

Booked a locksmith service. They no showed and I rebooked for two months later. On 55 minutes notice they canceled claiming someone had called out. Even if true it is unlikely they called out at 3 pm. They charged my credit card the day of the no show service and refused to refund me since I had agreed to rebook meaning I paid for a service I never received two months ago!

My senior mother received this message today. This is a text message with the phone number from an Angi employee. I thought your clients would like to read this and to be aware. I DO NOT RECOMMEND!

Last week I called Angis customer service and explained that we no longer want to have lawn service until next spring. Well, I received a text stating our grass will be cut this Saturday, 10/08/2022. I called their customer service from Asia and tried to explain that I did call and chose not to have our grass cut until next spring. I was told since I am cancelling, I will be charged a fee. I was charged $76.00 plus $25.00. Well After calling three times to speak with someone who could understand why I was calling; I finally did speak with Teresa who was helpful and did refund my money. Still not sure why I was being charged for $76.00? Evidentially when I called last week that person did not make notes on my account! I am very disappointed in Angis service.

Biggest scam ever. I have received about 30 leads from them which multiply that by $125 and yeh, they suck. Most will never even pick up the phone, ever. When they do pick up they don't know why I'm calling. Got zero sales from this, really only had 1 legit app't with someone who was from left field.

House was ok, person living in it wasn't haha. And they call you at 7am to tell you about the lead which is so stupid. Call your phone at 7am and then you check it out and it's all crap. There should be a class action suit against them, don't ever buy their leads
