We bought item for $100.00 Seller closed account right away after it took the money and we never receive the item and Mercari using excuse the item was bought out of platforms and is a LIE WE USE MERCARI PHONE APPLICATION and using a debit card. There is no protection for buyer letting seller SCAM hard working people.

I have purchased a few items on this website. The sellers cancel and relist at a higher price. Sellers are not held to their end of the deal like on eBay. It is a waste of time!

I used to love Mercari I sold many things on there and bought many things also. But recently I have ran into a problem what many many others have also experienced. So I sold a playstation on the platform and then tried to buy another console and the same minute that I bought another console with the money I earned from selling stuff on their app they canceled my orders, revoked my privileges and suspended my account.

When contacting customer support to see what was wrong and I received an automated response with the extremely vague explanation "Unusual payment activity". The money in my account has no way of getting out and they are just gonna take that once they delete my account. I hope this despicable app gets shut down.

My account was suspended and I still have $400 balance , I can't log in anymore!! I try to send the message to them, and every time just copy and paste. Customer service is so bad, hard to contact and reply your questions they are like robots, and Mercari could suspend your account with ANY reason!

no protection for both seller and buyer, I saw on the site, couple Japanese guys made and run this app, a lot of fake stuff selling in this app, feel like they just want to make quick money, and don't care about user's satisfaction, not really recommended, and be careful to use it, they might close your account and keep your money!

I bought a pair of red Timberland boots and haven't received them. I talked with Sxpreme Sells (the seller) for quite some time before they lowered the price of the boots to $100. I used two coupons this purchase; one that lowered the price by 10% and another that reduced the price by three dollars which gave me the grand total of $87 to pay. The seller uploaded the tracking number on the same day I paid (October 8th, 2017). Ever since then, the information I received from the USPS using the tracking number said, "Shipping Label Created, USPS Awaiting Item".

The tracking number of the item is 92055902004365000005982013. It was after a week that I asked the seller what sort of shipping option they chose because I was aware of how different shipping options affect how long it takes for someone to receive a package. I didn't get a reply from Supreme Sells. Just as I was about to request a refund, my account was permanently banned because I was suspected of "suspicious activity".

And this was my first transaction with them! Now, I can't get my money back and there's pretty much nothing I could do about it. Mercari itself is a scam and it's full with a bunch of scammers as well.

Do not use mercari to sell/buy your items! This was the worst trade/selling/buying app I've ever used. Not only did I get scammed multiple times (yes, I was dumb enough to keep trying), but the customer service is terrible, rude, and so unhelpful. I 'sold' items and when I sent them they 'got lost in the mail' and I lost my money and the item:(. When I purchased an item, they were so damaged and not as described in the listing. I am honestly so disappointed with this app. I'm sure that most of the reviews on here were written by mercari staff or people paid to leave a review. Trust me, I am trying to save you!

Any lawyers out there that can verify whether this site is legal?

They stalk your conversations, delete them out and decide what words you are allowed to say and what words you are not allowed to say. then in the middle of my sale they cancelled me before receiving payment AFTER I shipped the product.

Someone needs to shut them down!

I got suspended by this site, twice, without successfully selling or buying a single item.

1st suspension took place after I registered an account and bought an item, great, an email arrived and asked me for proof of identity and bank statement.

I gave them what they asked, 3 days later, they asked about a transaction that is between my own bank accounts, which I transferred a lump sum from one of my other bank accounts as my balance is running low. Fine, I gave them another bank statement to proof that the other account is owned by myself as well, and they went ahead and reactivated my account.

I then decided to take another look at the app and bought a few items, and I sold an item in the meanwhile as well. Suddenly, it is giving me the same suspension message and asking me for proof of identity again.

Now I am stuck because I have sent the item that I sold and it seems that my account is deleted as I am not even able to login to the app. So I will probably lose out at the very end, both the item and postage.

I recommend everyone staying away from these cowboys as they have no idea what they are doing and their customer service has not been helpful at all.

This company is BS! They don't protect buyers at all! Horrible service and communication! They take fees but do nothing! They should change their rules because sellers are people too!

Had 466 good transactions ! Got blocked tried to email got generic reply . Faithful seller and buyer . They kept my money and won't explain. Read this is happening to a lot of people scam. Thief. Liers.

I keep reading how bad Mercari's customer Servjce is and I don't get it, it's like I am using a different app to everyone else because I think they are the best out there. I have been selling online for over 15 years, the majority was on EBay, their Customer Service is nowhere near the Service I have received at Mercari.

They respond within a few hours and have gone above and beyond to help me out of some "jams", I found myself in. When you have a problem on EBay it takes hours on Hold and before you know it your day is shot. Mercari usually can fix everything with one email. I have been using the site for about 9 months, have sold several items and I am very happy with the service so unless I find otherwise I will continue to give them a five star rating.

They deleted my account and accused me of fraud and maintaining multiple accounts. I had only one account and had made 2 small purchases under $6 in 6 months. I never sold on the site. After 5 emails and the continued response from them in form letter, I have no answers. They keep saying that I had received multiple warnings. I did not. They will not provide copies of the warnings nor will they give me dates of the warnings. They will not tell me what part of my personal info is duplicated on another account. I am concerned THEY may be a front for fraud and identity theft.

I had been buying and selling a lot on here. Then when they started the 10% fee they started sending warnings about any little thing. They revoked my account today and I have tried repeatedly to contact them but am only getting auto-generated responses. Someone needs to shut them down or make them start following general business practice rules

I have used Mercari for over a year and it is by far the worst I have had to deal with among all the buying & selling platforms I've used. The first serious incident, I filed a complaint with the BBB because they refused to refund my money and tried to defend a seller who was completely in the wrong even when I sent photographed proof (sent me an item in horrible condition--falling apart and stained). It is clear that Mercari does not care about buyers' safety in this case. The most recent issue I've dealt with is once again concerning their EXTREMELY POOR customer service. As a buyer, I have been wronged DIRECTLY BY MERCARI, not just by another seller. I was experiencing problems with adding my card as payment, receiving an error code that it was already registered by another user. If this was a matter of IDENTITY THEFT, Mercari certainly did not care. All they told me was to use a different payment method... After messaging them with no responses for three days, I gave up. I am going to look into it and take legal action against the company if it is at all possible and I encourage everyone that has been wronged to bring attention to their issue. MERCARI IS A HORRIBLE APP. At least the American one, not sure about the Japanese one... STAY. AWAY. FROM. THIS. APP.

Mercari suspended my account for no good reason, They were demanding my social security number and my drivers license number. They said they want to make sure that I am not funding TERRORISM...I am a grandmother and I sold some jewelry from my mothers estate, she recently passed. Mercari is not allowing me to direct deposit my money into my bank account from my sales. They are stealing $198.00 from me. I just keep getting a message from them stating that they want all of my personal information. I will be calling channel 12 news. Do not sell on this site, you will regret it. There is no way to speak to anyone. All I keep getting are messages that sound robotic.......

I cancel the order because had not not shipped within date and seller was not responding. 2 days later seller responded and confirmed the cancelation. However later that same day I received a tracking number. I contacted Mercari explained that the item had been cancelled, the policy was not abided by and I was waiting my refund. In addition the tracking number was invalid ALSO a violation of their rules. Their response....I see that you and the seller are working things out, let us know if we can be of help" WHAT!!!

I messaged them again WHAT are you talking about, I have cx the order seller is not communicating and is in violation of 3 policies. Thier response " Heend is you confirmed tracking information, glad we could be of help." OH, THE SARCASM. I filed a paypal claim, seller immediately cx the shipment and reported to me that the site never contact her about the complaint. I again wrote the site and was told the item has already been shipped!! ...My last attempt to respond and YUP I'M BLOCKED

I love the fact that mercari take 0% comission. I had some issues about counterfeit items and stock photos. I do not even sell fakes and all my items are 100% authentic guaranteed. I took the photo against a nice white background with good lighting and they mistook it as a stock photo. They freeze up my account for couple times for several days, but soon unfreeze it. However, recently mercari took some of my balance away out of no where. It was not a big amount of money ($14), but it is still my money and i want to have some kind of explanation of the deduction. On the balance history only states $14 deduction from mercari and there is not further detail. I contacted customer service the next day and got a computarized answer that didn't even answer my question. They said within 48hours someone will help me. However, it never happen obviously. I contact them again several times and there is no respond from the customer service AT ALL. $14 may seem small but i need it. I am just so mad that there is no reply what soever from mercari expect that one computarized answer they always give.

I have been getting emails that i have sold products in my name and i am not even signed up. They bombard you with emails and then tell you you package has been shipped.

I have tried to contact the company to let them know that someone is usually my email or an account set up by email,, and no one has replied.. it is hard to even find a number to contact or email to contact them, which make me even more suspicious of them. so until this company cleans up it's act stay away.

A greedy Mercari scammer is offering $5 on Craiglist if you use his/her referral link and send screenshots but they get the referral rewards but don't send the $5. The ad said if its still up the ad is still good. They ignored emails and then later pulled the add. It should be hard for Mercari to find the user through their referral code RTKAWU which I reported. This is not the way I want to try a new website by being tricked and scammed so I won't use Mercari and boycott it until they fix this matter. This user shouldn't get referral rewards by scamming potential new customers that should be against TOS and get them banned. Lets see if Mercari cares about the info I sent them by email.

I have sold a lot of items on this app although i just started to use it. My first direct deposit of $17 went smoothly into my checking account. It basically cleared the next day & i already received the money.

Then i made more sales & been transferring money to my the same checking account & now I've waited for almost 2 weeks but i still haven't received any of those direct deposit that i made. I literally just received the very first one & the rest, they're disappear! I of course have contacted the cs by the email they provide but they keep replying me using the same script they have on their FAQ! Oh that helped alot!! Are you f'kin kidding me??! My parrot could repeat that... If I didn't get my money by this Friday this week, I will proceed with a legal action! They should provide a phone no for the users to call at least for important stuff like this so that they wont get too many bad reviews but i guess they don't care so I'm very happy to help them close down their business so that nobody will be losing items & money anymore!
