How Does it Work?
The company marketing Liver Renew, Nation Health MD, makes use of many modern sales techniques for selling health products online.
Their promotional video depicts a story about how Dr. Victor Dorodny MD has conducted years of research and discovered secret ancient ingredients used in traditional medicines to promote longevity and optimal health.
When viewing the video you can not fast forward or skip the video to see the product, something purposefully done to keep you hooked until the end when you’re presented with the "Buy now, supplies are limited" sales pitch.
The video presentation cites scientific evidence and many research studies for each of the ingredients in Liver Renew, and their role in supporting liver function.
Below we take a closer look at the Liver Renew Formula to see if it’s legitimate or another generic overpriced supplement.
Who Is Dr. Victor Dorodny?
The bio section on LiverRenew.com states that Dr. Dorodny was the former Chief Medical Officer of the Malibu Medical Reserve Corpse (MMRC), as well as a practicing physician for 30+ years.
On various MD databases he comes up as a family medicine specialist practicing out of Malibu, CA.
His education is listed as graduating Odessa Medical Institute in 1975. On several doctor review websites his practice has limited but positive feedback from customers.
Dr. Victor Dorodny Claims
In the video Dr. Dorodny explains that our modern lives are placing an incredible demand on our livers, causing them to become overworked.
This added strain comes form of our exposure to a variety of environmental toxins such as:
- pesticides
- herbicides
- skin care products
- alcohol
- refined sugars
- high fructose corn syrup
He goes on to say that an overworked liver will have trouble handling one of its main priorities, which is the metabolism of fat for energy. Instead your body will store the fat as deposits around your midsection.
He believes that liver health ultimately rests on these 4 pillars:
- Detox
- Age related inflammation
- Digestive problems
- Lack of bile production
Each of these areas needs to be addressed for optimal liver function, which Dorodny claims Liver Renew Formula was specifically designed to do.
Ingredients
The key ingredients in Liver Renew
Turmeric - This common spice has been used for centuries in traditional medicine. It is known to help with bile production and is a potent antioxidant that can reduce inflammation.
There is some limited research to show Turmeric’s positive effects on people with fatty liver disease. [1]
It has also been shown to prevent or reduce inflammation, and its anti-inflammatory benefits can help with other disorders. [2]
Some health websites note that while Turmeric may be beneficial it should not be used in place of medical treatments and lifestyle changes for liver disease.
Beet Root - This vegetable is also regarded for its antioxidative and anti-inflammatory properties. [3] Non-human studies have found that it can also help increase detoxification enzymes. [4]
In traditional medicine it has been used to activate liver enzymes and increase bile production, but more human studies are needed.
Dandelion Extract - In traditional herbal medicine Dandelion root has been used as a form of liver detox. According to one study conducted on mice it can reduce stress on the liver and can also help with bile production. [5]
There is also some research that suggests dandelion extract can help with gallbladder function. There are a lot of animal studies showing its various benefits, however more clinical studies on humans are needed. [6], [7]
Milk Thistle (Silybum marianum) - Another potent herb that has a long history of use in traditional healing, where it has been used as treatments for various complications of the liver, kidney and gallbladder.
As Dr. Dorodny mentioned in the video, Silymarin, a flavonoid in Milk Thistle, has been used to protect and regenerate the liver.
This herb has also been used in treatments of alcoholic hepatitis and alcoholic cirrhosis, however more research is needed. [8]
Artichoke Extract - Artichoke is another type of thistle and also has long standing use in traditional medicine to help lower blood sugar, improve digestion, and promote liver health.
Additional scientific research is coming out in support of its medicinal uses, with studies finding,
“Specifically, antioxidant, choleretic, hepatoprotective, bile-enhancing and lipid-lowering effects have been demonstrated, which corresponded with its historical use.” [9]
Further, there is some research to support Dorodny's claims that the antioxidants Cynarin and Silymarin are responsible for many of these benefits. [10]
In the video Dr. Dorodny also cites a study conducted on 90 people with fatty liver disease that took artichoke extract daily. This intervention resulted in improved liver function. [11]
However, the participants were given 600mg of artichoke extract while the dose in Liver Renew Formula is only 50mg.
Glycine - This amino acid is produced in the body, obtained from food, and also available as a supplement.
It plays a critical role in the creation of glutathione, an antioxidant shown to protect cells from oxidative damage from free radicals. [12]
Side Effects
If you are on medications or have any serious conditions you should check with your doctor before starting a new supplement regimen.
Some of the ingredients in Liver Renew Formula may cause minor GI symptoms, irritation ,nausea, dizziness, diarrhea, or upset stomach.
Milk Thistle may cause allergic reactions in some people. If you have any concerns you should check with your primary care provider first.

The company's Facebook page does have some complaints regarding a billing and order issue.

Nation Health Website is Difficult
Similar comment as J Stewart comments. Site is not user friendly but luck was with me. My credit card fraud department immediately caught the transaction and called me to confirm / validate / remove the transaction. I got out of the transaction with no charges on my account.
I am still interested in the product (cognilux) but the Nation Health, MD site is time consuming, difficult and a pain to use.
We are being ripped off.
This is a scam, no answer on their phone and do not have E-mail anymore. The only way to stop this is the bank.
Love my Liver Renew
Liver renew seems to be a total scam
It took 2 months for my order to arrive and I was so fed up, it was returned to sender unopened. I was charged $499.96 and was only refunded $350.00 and can't get any service or explanation. Now the support email is no longer accepting email. Get you product from a reputable dealer or get ripped off like I did.
Bought 6 bottles haven't noticed any benefits, signed up for the auto renew to get cheaper, got a fraud alert from AMEX while asleep, had them stop the charge, AMEX is great like that. I wouldn't buy again, no obvious benefits.
Your review makes no sense. You say you ordered 6 bottles, got a fraud alert, had them stop the charges. Yet then you say you got "no obvious benefits" on 6 bottles you never received? Wouldn't buy again, when you never completed the purchase? WHO are U? If it were my product, I'd find out and sue you for lying.

Yes, bottles that I actually received and opened. WHO would take the time to leave a review on a product they never used? Do U get paid to leave bad reviews of the competition?
BEWARE OF MULTIPLE CHARGES YOU CAN'T UNDO!!!
After watching the video on this product, I decided to purchase it. I only wanted to purchase 1 bottle of Liver Renew just to try it, $44. after entering all my credit card information, the next page pops up telling me my order is not complete and another offer pops up to buy another bottle of tummy fat burning for $35.
next thing I know another offer pops up to purchase another bottle of something else I decline NO THANKS! It pops up again, and again NO THANKS!
As I get to the final purchase page my total went from $44. - $ 350.!!! With no way to remove it, in a fine print I read if I use back button that could result in multiple purchases!!! I manage to see a number to call I'm calling hopefully it works to cancel everything.
I CAN'T STAND DISHONEST ADS THAT DO THAT MAKE IT IMPOSSIBLE TO GO BACK AND CORRECT YOUR ORDERS. I did an autofill which typed in my cell number, it was asking for my cell number again, I didn't want to enter it. I DON'T TRUST THIS COMPANY!!!
So, I just closed the window but now they have all my valuable information. Here is the number if anyone else finds they too got scammed 1-828-367-6369. If this company is legit then there shouldn't be any problem contacting them to correct this, I'm calling now.
The Phone Number Didn't Work!!!
I imagine the doctor doesn't even know about how they are using his face. Either way, thanks for the review, most of the new products hitting the market are using the same technique to trap people. But I have to say if I am able to get a functioning phone number , I get my money back. I have not tried this product. I also think it is dishonest way to sell stuff. If their product works, people will spend all their money on their product. Remember what I said , "If their product works, people will spend all their money on their product."

Did some research too. It's on Amazon for half the price. Reviews are much the same as here. FRAUD! Not the same ingredients as advertised, and no returns.
You have the information, put it together yourself!
I checked the labels of the ones sold in Amazon. The ingredients are not the same and label is different and distributed by another company. So, I’m assuming it is a knock-off. Lots of scams out there. So far so good for me. I ordered. Had no problem with ordering or receiving product promptly, however, it was annoying to wade through all the other offers. I’ve been on it now for 7 days with the only side effect is my dreams are a bit weird, but I had that with taking turmeric before. I’ll see how it goes.
yes Susan, that's probably the problem. Knock off scams. That's how I ended up here. I got some 6 months ago for myself, liked it, so I was gonna recommend it to family members, and did a search for it, and found others with the same name, but NOT the same ingredients, missing Dandelion Root, in particular.
