Harvest Right Freeze Dryer Reviews

I have only had the freeze dryer for a few days, but at this point I will say that the vendor, Posey County Coop in Mt. Vernon Indiana was very helpful and even had samples for us to try. The samples were what really convinced my husband that this would be a good thing. He tried a rehydrated strawberry.

I had difficulty registering the freeze dryer for the warranty online, but when I called Harvest Right they quickly assisted me with that.

I’ve had my freeze dryer for about a year and a half and we do love using it. We have a garden and I’ve freeze dried fruit from our trees (apples, pears, grapes) I’ve also freeze dried ground beef, yogurt, kefir, ice cream, onions, garlic and ginger. Everything freeze dried great and is so easy to enjoy the many things from my garden throughout the year. I would also recommend a freeze dryer if you are trying to stock up on different foods for long term storage as well. Harvest right is always very helpful and when I had to contact them with a question they were able to help me. It’s quite easy to use and I don’t think people will have a problem with using it. We are very happy to have one for our family!

My husband and I bought a Large Harvest Right Freeze Dryer and got it installed last month. We have been running it nonstop. Our kiddos love freeze dried fruits, yogurt bites, ice-cream sandwiches and pre made meals. It has been especially helpful because our son has a severe dairy allergy and we are able to make him lots of dairy free snacks and pre made meals that are not available commercially. I recently had some questions about an order and how to set up my machine for running candy. The representative was so helpful, he was able to provide us links to the questions I had. We love our machine and can’t wait for what the future holds in our freeze drying adventures.

Everything you may have heard about freeze dryers is true. What they don't tell you is that freeze dryers can be complicated machines that may have problems right out of the box or a few loads in. We came across such problems. Our dryer has been out of commission for the last week because we've been trouble shooting a vacuum pump error. There is a huge checklist of things that can go wrong each time. Do your research thoroughly before buying one. Good customer service though to help you.

Just received my medium HarvestRight FreezeDryer. So far, absolutely amazing. Simple to use, easy to set up and most importantly, digital menus are easy to understand and interact with. As soon as you insert the food/candy the machine prompts you along and displays next steps. I took several head injuries overseas and struggle with information retention and memory recall patterns. The HarvestRight freeze dryer is so user friendly that I have already misplaced the user guide as you really don't need it!

This is our first freeze dryer and we love it. We had some minor set backs/issues in the beginning but harvest right has been super on top of helping get it sorted out. They are not only quick to respond but they have fantastic videos to help explain what to do. Off to freeze dry some more colostrum for our farm! I definitely recommend them.

I love My Harvest Right ! We have had The regular large machine for the past three years and I have kept it going at least 4 days a week. This week we had our relay board go out. Harvest Right customer service was wonderful and even tried to tell us a trick to get us going faster for no money. even though the advice would not work, they have been helpful to get us a new relay board asap. They are a wonderful group of people.

I have been preserving food from the garden harvest and hunting for many years via canning and freezing. with the harvest right I have been able to put up a long lasting product that taste great easily. I am currently saving for the new Larger model. I can't wait. LOVE my Harvest Right!

Overall, after doing two years of research, and two years of saving for the right freeze dryer. We landed on the harvest, right medium freeze dryer with five drawers. We’re very happy with our purchase, and thrilled with the customer service that came along with this product. we’ve invested two years into researching the quality behind all harvest right products. Definitely five stars, and definitely worth making harvest right right for your family, because it was right for our.

We’re on our second machine as 1st machine couldn’t keep up with us and everything were wanting to freeze dry. Didn’t know freeze drying candy was a thing until our grandkids put in each child’s suggestions for Halloween candy. Totally happy with our customer service experience when we were learning the difference between candy and regular drying. Harvest Right is a set it and forget machine even the technically challenged can master with ease.

My husband and I are on a fixed income but we grow a huge garden for our family I dislike wasting food and now having a freeze dryer is going to make preserving that food to make it last a long time so much easier thank you so much for the wonderful customer service that helped us pick out the right freeze dryer for our family fast easy delivery it all went so smoothly thank you harvest right

We raise a large garden and always have more produce than we can eat, give away or can for our personal and family use. I had also bought some emergency food supplies. Now that I have the Harvest Right Freeze Dryer, we freeze dry all of our excess produce, harvested meats, and left overs that would be wasted into foods that can be stored long term as needed or stored for emergency food supplies. By my calculations on meat we are saving better than 70% processing it our self rather than buying it from emergency food services. I also know how my meat, produce and foods, are raised processed, and stored.

The Harvest Right freeze dryer is very easy to use with plenty of videos, forums and a great customer service if you have any questions or concerns. Side benefits for children, grandchildren and a multitude of friends children is freeze dried candies and ice cream that can cost over $2 an ounce on amazon and at the farmers market for just pennies on the dollars. Highly recommend!

As far as the freeze dryer itself we like it so far. However customer service has been absolutely terrible. We purchased the medium size harvest right from Tractor supply well apparently it didn't have the latest software on it but no where in the Manuel does it say anything about this.

So initially are freeze dryer was stuck in drying mode and would never finish a cycle. We wasted 2 batches before I stumbled upon a forum that said people had similar issues and found out they needed to do a software update. Tried getting a credit for some accessories for the inconvenience and they said no.

Not sure how you sell a $3000 machine that isn't up to date to run and not mention it anywhere in the manual that you need to look into this before using your unit. Worst customer service I've ever dealt with for a company.

If you are buying a freeze dryer, you are one of the few looking at some form of self reliance and accountability for your own emergency or long term preparedness. I'm an outdoorsman and there is nothing better than bringing all our home cooked comfort meals into the field on a long trek. It's a great tool if you take the steps to use it regularly, it will pay back exponentially.

After 60ish loads with no issues, I had a load of chopped onions in my freeze dryer. The onions had went thru the freezing process and had started the drying process when I got the alert that the machine could not achieve a vacuum. Ok now I had to save the onions, no problem cooked down and canned as French onion soup base. Had great help with the customer support and did the suggested steps to find the problem. Only thing I could find was the valve had corroded due to the high acid foods I used. Bought new bronze valve and replaced but still no vacuum. At my request a service tech was sent to my home and he found my problem which I hate to say was my fault. I had used white Teflon tape instead of the yellow tape used for gas lines under high pressure. Fixed and held 341Mtorr for over hour before he left. I have only the highest regards for this company. Highly recommend

The Harvest Right freeze drier sits in our small office humming [very] quietly while it freeze dries our homemade soup. We now own the small size freeze drier. Although we got off to a bit of a rocky start with our new purchase, we cannot say enough about the professional and courteous help and prompt responses we received from Harvest Right Customer Service. Scott Cesen, our Customer Service Representative, never failed to respond to our calls for help or even reassurance.

We are Seniors and, consequently, now live on a fixed income, so we needed the ability to take advantage of our land and the various crops we produce. The Harvest Right freeze drier not only preserves our produce but allows us to eliminate one very large 'electricity-hogging' freezer in the basement.

We had a need to check systems and worked with Techical Support Rep Ben Campbell who was so patient and understanding of Seniors who aren't exactly technically advanced. Ben was able to direct us over the phone to do some troubleshooting to determine the difficulty. When it became obvious we were not able to perform some of the more intricate maneuvers, he promptly connected us with Customer Service Rep Scott Cesen and from there we were treated like very important customers; something that sometimes seems like a lost art nowadays. Scott walked us through a process of exchange and directed us to the shipping department where we viewed amazingly clear videos for packaging, labeling and shipping arrangements. Nathan Cheney provided us with our delivery order and tracking reference number. Jessica Kay provided the transfer order clearly printed so that we would know what to expect. They work as a well-oiled, efficient team.

Scott Cesen is an extraordinary Customer Service Representative who met our needs and answered our questions even before we knew we had questions.

We are in awe of Harvest Right freeze driers , and especially the Company itself that knows how to "do it right". From an exceptional product that is so easy to operate to the extraordinary customer service reps on down to the amazing number of suggestions and information about freeze driers, processing tips, and videos, Harvest Right has it all.

OVERALL USE:

As of this message, We've (My Wife and I) have had our medium freeze dryer for just over a year and it's been great. Saved us money, some food we would have had to throw out, was saved. We've made many batches of candy, now I'm using it for preparing food for an entire hike of the Appalachian Trail which is a massive money saver.

CUSTOMER SERVICE:

Had small differences with customer service, but otherwise the customer service has been on point and decent.

SMALL ISSUE:

One thing that irritates me is the smell. Deodorizing the Freeze Dryer has proven really difficult. Even the suggestions on the Harvest Right website don't really work that great. The smell comes back after a while. After some research I've finally found a way to semi-deodorize it, which has diminished the smell significantly.

IN CLOSING:

I would, and I already have recommend this company and their products to many people.

I've watched this product for years, and finally got one when it went on sale at my local Bomgaars store. I bought the large model the pans are a little longer than a half sheet pan and maybe half the width. I've been looking for ways to store more food and make meals that I'll enjoy verses the noodle heavy meals that are common on the market. the trick is knowing when the food is really dry. it shouldn't be cold and breaks kind of like foam.

I've enjoyed having fruit in the drawer for smoothies. give it a try if your looking for a great way to have shelf stable food.

I got my unit today The shipping was through FedEx I normally don’t like FedEx but the driver with my freeze dryer was awesome so great about making sure we were happy. When I opened the box I was extremely pleased at the quality of the dryer. The company is very helpful and willing to work with you. I can wait to make my first batch. Thank you

I got this freeze dryer a couple weeks ago, and I don’t think I will ever turn it off. I am in LOVE LOVE LOVE and I don’t know why I didn’t buy one sooner. I have freeze dried Indian chicken curry, Penang curry with pork, a huge batch of bananas, and tonight chicken stew is on the menu. So far everything reconstitutes beautifully. The sealer is easy to use with the bags, and honestly everything is easy to use. I was intimidated in the beginning, but I am already over it. Just do it!!!

I am new to freeze drying but I have been watching videos for years but I am not new to preserving food.

I have the Large freeze dryer with 6 tray, I just finished my first batch of 3 #10 cans of vegetables, without pre-freezing , the whole process took me, 42 hours. The vegetable trays came out perfect, I am very pleased, but to cut down on time, I will be pre-freezing In the future.
