There are so many CD’s, DVD's and games that people no longer want and no longer use. They do not know where to bring them or what to do with them. Zumu has the answer to help you get rid of your old media products.
The Zumu platform enables you to get cash for your items or donate that cash to a charity. The requirements for what they will accept include DVD’s, full length CD’s, and games for Xbox, Wii, Nintendo DS and PlayStation. All of the items must be in great condition, meaning they can’t have any scratches on it. The original casing with the original barcode on it must also be intact. The original artwork must be in the case and must not have any rips or marks on them. The discs cannot be pirated or copied versions.
To start your item submission, you must enter the barcode from the items you want to sell. If any of the barcodes do not process through their system, you may have to call them for further directions so you make cash for it. There is a minimum of 10 items per transaction; there is not a maximum item limit.
Dollar values of the items change daily, so once you receive the quote and prepaid shipping label, you must send them right away to ensure they arrive within 10 days of the transaction. If any of your items are rejected because Zumu does not feel they meet the quality standards, they will not pay you for those items, and those items will be recycled. Payment is made by check and is typically mailed out to you within two weeks of the date they receive your package.
Zumu has taken this business plan as an opportunity to bring about an overall positive experience for everyone involved including the community at large. First, they have created an easy way for individuals to make quick cash for their old media items. Other people who may not have been able to afford that media product can finally buy them at a low price.
Second, Zumu has taken an environmental stand to help reduce waste in the landfills. They believe that “going green” is important and their site enables everyone to assist with their efforts. Media products are either sold or they are recycled.
Helping others has also been incorporated into their payment system. Charities are always in need of funding. Promoting charities and making it easy for sellers to donate the money they make from their media instead of receiving a personal check. You are able to direct your payment to the charity of your choice based on those listed on their site.
They also make it easy for fundraisers to generate money for their cause. If you are involved in a fundraiser, you may submit a request for it to be listed on their site as an option for sellers to donate their money to.
Zumu has shown that it is possible to make a difference in the world. By making one small step, they have created a path to bring out the goodness in people and hopefully are setting an example for other businesses to follow.

I have been waiting almost 5 months for my payment from Zumu. I have filed complaints with the Michigan Attorney General and the BBB in Michigan. All I receive from Zumu customer service is messages about delays, first it was an e-mail stating that due to processing problems I would have to wait 3 months for my payment. Ok, unfair but I accepted it. After waiting three months and being told my check would be cut on 9-20-13 I never received my payment. I contacted customer service and was told that due to processing problems they now have no idea when my payment will be made. This is absurd. I will never use Zumu's service again and I will discourage everyone I know from using this scam of a service. If I do not receive my payment soon I will be taking further legal action. Get it together. I upheld my end of the deal, It is time to uphold yours.
I submitted my items in February, was told that 23 were eligible, received a check in October for 80 cents. Are you kidding me? Terrible, terrible...would not waste my time nor recommend. Stay Away!
I sent them one box a year ago and got the payment fairly quickly, though there was some mixup where they said they hadn't received my shipment a few weeks after saying they had. Box #2 took three months and they said that the box was short a few discs. Still, I got a decent check and it beat having this stuff rot in my closet. Now, box #3 is entering month #3 and the recent reviews aren't encouraging.
I'd like to think that they're just overwhelmed and naive rather than scam artists, but it's obvious that the current system isn't working for them. Maybe they can make it right somehow.
So, three stars based solely on the fact that it was nice to get $200+ for CD's I hadn't listened to in years. They had a lot of potential but it seems like they're in over their heads.
If you send Zumu anything you might as well say goodbye to your stuff as well as your money. They do not return calls or emails. Not reputable at all. Do yourself a favor and find something else to do with your "pre-loved" items...
I sold/sent Zumu a bunch of DVDs back in April of 2013. They received the items and everything seemed okay. After about a month and no check for the items or date given when to expect payment, I inquired with their customer service when I'd be paid since payment was overdue according to their site/advertisments. They responded in 3 months (late July 2013)! This was 2 months worse than they advertise and at no point did anyone inform me, I had to find this out myself.
Well that date in July came and went and no check came. I again received no notification that payment would be late, I had to find out myself. They told me the date would now be early August. Well guess what? That date passed, and again no check and no notification.
I then asked that my items be returned to me as it had now been over three months and clearly I wasn't getting paid. Here's is there exact reply cut and paste from and email:
Okay... "withoutfurther delays". I guess I can accept that. Even though they pushed it out another month and a half. Well guess what happened next? Still no pyament. Still no heads up that payment wasn't sent. I emailed them again. NO response.
So now they aren't just not paying for the items I sent that they agreed to pay for, but they aren't even responding to my inquiries via customer service. This is CLEARLY a scam. I bet if they did pay I wouldn't even get the full amount they said they would pay.
I used Zumu the first time about a year ago and everything went very smoothly including getting a payment from them. I decided a few months back to do it again. Received an email a few weeks later saying they received my stuff and that payment would be issued asap. A few weeks after that I inquired about payment and I received the same email apparently everyone is now receiving about their new payment system. I was told that my payment was scheduled to be issued on 9/27. I'll keep my fingers crossed a few more days to see what happens and than I too will be writing to my local attorney general.
3 months now I'm waiting for payment.. I've sent many emails, they only respond to some of them. Very frustrated with this company and the fact that you can't call is very suspect..
I sent my CDs into Zumu in June. Heard nothing for months, then they sent me an email telling me they had some sort of billing issue but I was in line for payment. I've emailed them twice now asking when I'll be paid, and nothing. These people are crooks and they deserve to be sued out of existence. I encourage everyone who's been scammed by these guys to contact their state's Attorney General's office, the BBB and the UK Office of Fair Trading (http://oft.gov.uk/). Hit them where it hurts.
