About Yabla

Yabla, found online at Yabla.com, is a website that offers users the ability to learn new languages through the use of videos and other multimedia technology to give non-native speakers an effective immersion learning experience.

Yabla videos are not just for individuals who would like to learn new languages, they are also available through a subscription service for educators and schools that would like to implement their tools for students.

How Does It Work?

The videos that Yabla uses come from real providers of contemporary television, film, and music. These videos are made by real, native speakers and have been made for real, native speakers of your chosen language.

Because of this, the material is actually both engaging and entertaining, making it easier for language learners to actually become involved with their learning tools and to absorb the language as they would if they were actually able to immerse themselves in a foreign culture.

Cost/Price Plans

Individual users who would like to subscribe to Yabla's services can do so for $9.95 per month, $54.95 for 6 months of service, and $99.95 if you purchase a year long subscription up front.

Group subscriptions will be priced based on the number of students you will be teaching and the specific language you are hoping to teach them. The website will give you the tools you need to find your cost.

Refund Policy

Users who cancel their subscription services within 7 days of their original purchase can get a full refund of all fees they have paid. Customers who cancel after 7 days you will retain access to all the videos until the end of the subscription period that has been purchased but will receive any further charges at the end of that time.

Customer Service Contact Info

Customers looking to contact their Customer Service team can do so by phone at 212-625-3226, by traditional mail at 505 West 23rd St., 2nd Floor, New York, NY 10011, or by email at [email protected]

Reputation

Yabla does seem to have a decent reputation online, though certain reviewers have stated that they believe it's a more effective learning tool for later on in the language acquisition process. Instead a more traditional program may be better for learners who need to establish a base knowledge.

Competitors and Alternatives?

There are many different companies on the market right now which claim to help people learn a new language, like DuoLingo.com, Rosetta Stone, Anki Flashcards, the Pimsleur Approach, and more.
