About is the online home of a brand new local ride service called Wingz, which specifically is tailored to helping people arrange rides to the airport in advance for a flat, affordable fee.

How Does It Work?

This service is designed to be as convenient and as simple as possible for people who are trying to make travel arrangements. All you need to do is use the Wingz mobile app or the website to submit your travel information, including the airport you are traveling to, your pick-up address, the date and time of your pick-up, and any other options which must be taken into consideration.

You will be notified by both text and email when your request is accepted, as well as when your driver is physically on their way on the day of your pick-up. Currently this service is only available in the San Francisco Bay area, San Diego, Los Angeles, Denver, Chicago, Phoenix, Portland, and Seattle at this time.

For people who are interested in becoming a driver, you must be at least 21 years old and the owner of a car that is a model 2000 or newer in good working condition. All drivers must pass a screening process, background and DMV checks, and in-person training, and once you’ve been successfully accepted, you can choose to either work full time or on your own personal schedule, backed by the Wingz $1 million incident liability insurance.

Mobile Options

At this time, the Wingz mobile application is available for Android and iOS mobile devices. There is no information at this time about any plans to expand their mobile offerings.

Cost/Price Plans

The website does not post a chart of pre-arranged prices, likely because the prices will vary a little depending on what distance you are from the airport. However, the website is very clear that their rates are intended to be low and will be clearly posted before you ever schedule your ride, with absolutely no hidden fees or required gratuity.

Refund Policy

Unfortunately the website does not provide any information regarding any guarantees or refunds for unhappy customers. In fact, there is a note in their Terms and Conditions that because this service uses independent contractors for drivers, they actually cannot offer any guarantees to their customers regarding their actual driving experience, other than to promise that their drivers are pre-screened and have up to $1 million of coverage.

This service is still relatively new and is only available in a few markets at this time, which makes it a bit difficult to really find reviews of However, the reviews which can be found are fairly mixed in tone.

Some people have had positive experiences and are happy to have another affordable airport ride option available to them, but that is not true of everyone. In fact, there is one complaint that seems repeated more than others, and that is the failure of a Wingz driver to show up.

As anyone can imagine, having a driver fail to show up when you are attempting to make it to the airport on time can be a stressful experience. Fortunately, this does not seem to be an extremely common complaint, but because it has been a reported issues, it is something that people may want to keep in mind when making their arrangements.
