About Wine Down Box

The Wine Down Box, found online at WineDownBox.com, is a new monthly membership service which provides customers with curated wine and food pairings delivered right to your door.  

How Does It Work?

According to their website, each month customers will receive a curated pairing of the best small production wine, cheese, and charcuterie available, and each box will include enough to be comfortably enjoyed by two people.

Their delivery boxes are insulated and packed with freezer bricks to maintain the quality and freshness of their products, and cheese and salami should be promptly refrigerated once they are received. 

The website also says that while they do their best to select products that everyone can eat and drink, they do work with different producers each month, meaning that new and different ingredients will be used each month. If you have an allergy concern, they do ask that you contact their Customer Service team for more assistance. 

Unfortunately, due to the fact that their box includes wine, they are currently unable to deliver their boxes to Alaska, Alabama, Arkansas, Delaware, Hawaii, Kentucky, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Dakota, and Utah. But their website does say that the laws regarding wine shipments are constantly changing, and they will expand their service whenever these laws permit.   

Cost/Price Plans

Customers who choose the month-to-month plan will pay $49 each month, while those who choose the three month plan will pay $144.00 per quarter, and those who choose the six month plan will pay $282.00 twice a year. Finally, customers can also choose to pay for a full year's subscription in advance for just $540.00, which is $45 per month during the length of the subscription. 

Refund Policy

This website does not appear to have a standard Refund Policy, instead saying that customers who are dissatisfied with their delivery for any reason should contact their Customer Service team immediately so they can do their best to resolve your concerns. If they do arrange a return of your products, they ask that you please allow them between 7 and 10 days for the refund to process.

Reputation

It seems clear that customers who enjoy wine, cheese, and charcuterie pairings are very happy with this service, and with the quality and the value of the products that come together in this box. This company also provides their customers with flexibility regarding their payment schedule, and those who don’t want to commit long term can choose the month-to-month option and cancel whenever they need.  

Competitors and Alternatives?

There are many different monthly subscriptions which focus on both wine and gourmet food products, so customers who feel that this box does not meet their needs for any specific reason should likely be able to find a more suitable alternative.

One of the best!

I’m very pleased with the presentation of this box. The crackers are to die for, they compliment the cheese so well. I can see that they do take their time to deliver a really great product. The time of delivery was a bit delayed, but ended up noticing that the weather wasn’t on their side when I placed the order as well as when it was supposed to be deliveried. So, I can’t really dock them stars for Mother Natures doing. I would recommend this to friends and family, I already have!

I have the same problem. No shipment or responses to my emails. Here is a link to report them. Its the FBI internet fraud division. I’ ll be reporting them.

SCAM



November26, 2018

Complete scam. We ordered a 3 month subscription in May of 2018 and were told that due to temperature restrictions our order would not ship until October of 2018. It is now the end of November of 2018 and we have yet to receive even the first order or hear any update whatsoever. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY AND FAIL TO DELIVER ANYTHING OR OFFER A REFUND.

This is a SCAM!!!

Bought the 12 month subscription for my close friend for her birthday in July. She has yet to receive her first box. My account was charged and I have tried several times to contact them by email with NO response. There is NO phone number to call with inquiries. DO NOT SUBSCRIBE FROM THEM!

Have you been able to resolve this issue? We are filing a complaint with the BBB but want to know if you had any success getting a refund or if we will need to hire a legal professional.
