You’ve heard the same advice over & over again: Find something you love doing and it won’t feel like work! But where do you find such a job? What if you never hear back after sending out thousands of applications? And what if you keep getting cut out by recruiters before you even make it to the first step in the interview process?

Enter This online platform connects candidates with job opportunities within the technology, finance, & sales fields without recruiters, headhunters, or laundry lists of job requirements. That’s right; this service allows you to connect directly with hiring managers.

But is it right for you? Here’s what you need to know.

How Does It Work?

All you need to do is submit a quick online application and the company will do the rest! Your application will be under review while they use a special algorithm to determine if you are a good fit for their platform. You will then be paired with a Candidate Experience Team Member who will help you navigate the process.

Employers will be able to see your skill set, job preferences, and ideal work locations. They even work with employers who have remote jobs available.

If a company signifies interest in your candidacy, a request will be delivered straight to your inbox. You are then empowered to take ownership over your job hunt by deciding whether the role is a good fit for you.

On the employer side of things, they offer the benefits of a fast, transparent alternative to traditional recruiting firms. Their unique technology creates models to match qualified candidates with your jobs.

They have a very helpful FAQ pages for both job-seekers & employers if you are curious about the platform.

Cost and Price Plans

Using Vettery is free if you are a job-seeker! In fact, if you accept a job offer through them, they will give you a $300 signing bonus.

Vettery’s business model works by making job hunting free for candidates, while employers are offered several options in terms of pricing plans.

The Starter Plan only charges you if you successfully hire a candidate. You will be charged 15% of the candidate’s annual base salary and receive a complete refund if the candidate does not work out within 90 days of being hired.

The Premium Plan charges an access fee, which they claim is small. Unfortunately, there is no information freely available about exactly what that fee is. One of the benefits of this plan is that you only pay a 10% hiring fee as opposed to the 15% in the starter plan. Another bonus is that you have a dedicated Customer Support Manager to help resolve any issues you may encounter.

Finally, you have the option of purchasing the Unlimited Plan for a fixed annual rate (again, you would need to reach out directly to the company to obtain rate information). This plan allows you to pay absolutely zero in hiring fees and you get the support of not only a Customer Support Manager, but also an Account Manager.

Competitors and Alternatives

There are a few alternatives to Vettery for you to consider.

For example, ZipRecruiter is a platform with solid online reviews. It is free to use for candidates and if you have a need to delete account or delete profile once you’ve gotten the perfect job, Zip Recruiter makes it easy.

One way that ZipRecruiter differs from Vettery is that they do not limit their industries. They have a variety of job opportunities in different industries. Additionally, while Vettery has candidates sign up & then wait for interview requests to roll in, Zip Recruiter allows candidates to search, view & apply to job postings.

On the employer side of things, Zip Recruiter has companies create job postings which are then sent out to hundreds of the top job search sites. They also invite qualified candidates to apply to certain job postings so that they are maximizing your chances of getting the best candidate.

Another alternative to Vettery is Hired. They also boast great online reviews. Hired is specifically designed for hiring within the technology field. Their platform allows job seekers to create a free profile and makes your job hunt easier because employers apply to interview you. Like Vettery, they offer candidate support through their Talent Success Managers.

Additionally, candidates have the option of completing technology assessments and adding badges to certify that they are proficient in different skill sets. On the employer side of things, Hired offers different pricing plans depending on your needs.

Finally, you may opt to go with Indeed for your job matching needs. Indeed has a more typical job board model. Indeed allows candidates to search & apply for jobs at no cost. Their jobs encompass a variety of opportunities in different industries.

For employers, they offer their Indeed Hire program, which is a pay-per-hire recruiting service similar to Vettery’s starter plan. They also only charge 10% of the new hire’s base salary as compared to the Vettery’s 15%.

Online Customer Reviews/Complaints

Customer reviews of Vettery are mixed. On their own website, the reviews are unsurprisingly positive. They say great things such as: “Contrary to other platforms, the companies that reached out to me were a great fit for both my interests and skills.”

However, websites like TrustPilot and TrustRadius include comments asserting that Vettery was: “absolute rubbish,” or “Vettery has somehow sourced my name and e-mail without my consent,” which has led to a lot of spam e-mail. It is important to note, however, that some of the reviews on external sites are positive, claiming that Vettery was “our favorite platform for hiring technology talent,” and that Vettery was “a helpful tool for a growing organization.”

Customer Service

There is no phone number listed on the website, but you can always reach out via e-mail at [email protected] Employers are able to fill out a form on the website for assistance.

Based on the information listed on their website, any job seeker who is working with them should have access to a Candidate Experience team member. Additionally, employers working with Vettery should be able to contact Account Managers or Customer Support Managers.

Where to Buy?

You can purchase or sign up as a candidate through their website.

Is It Worth It?

Is Vettery legit? There are pros and cons to consider. If you are a job seeker searching for work within technology, finance, or sales, it probably is worth creating a free profile to see where it leads. However, if you are an employer, there may be other platforms that would be less risky. It probably is at least worth connecting with a representative from the company and seeing what they can offer you!
