About Tuft and Needle

Tuft and Needle, found online at TuftAndNeedle.com, is a new company that says their goal is to make high quality mattresses at reasonable prices to better serve their customers and not just their profit margin.

How Does It Work?

According to their website, buying a mattress has become worse than buying a car. Customers have to deal with pushy salespeople up selling them on "top of the line features" they don't actually need, and if they are unhappy with this product that has cost them thousands of dollars, the return policies are terrible.

To fix this process, they have decided to create the Tuft and Needle mattress. Completely made in the US, with US made materials, according to best practices for mattresses. Their competitors' mattresses alternate layers of foam and glue which reduces air flow and can create hot sleeping conditions.

They cut down on the layers and the glue to ensure the best quality sleeping, with "no snake oil, jargon, or convoluted product names."

Cost/Price Plans

While the average mattress costs $300 to create and sells for around $3000, Tuft and Needle mattresses begin at $250 for their smallest mattress, a Twin sized mattress at only 5" deep, and go up to $750 for their largest mattress, a California King that is 10" deep.

Refund Policy

Their sales page says that they offer their customers a 30 day trial period, during which time if they decide they are unhappy with what they have received, they can return the mattress for a refund.

Reputation

This company seems to have very positive reviews, both for their mattresses and for the quality of their customer service whenever customers had an issue that needed to be resolved.

Competitors and Alternatives?

There are many companies that sell mattresses, but many of these companies are the opposite of Tuft and Needle - specialty companies that offer expensive mattresses with many different upgraded features, like Tempurpedic, Sleep Number, the Reverie Sleep System, and many others.
