True Classic Tees Reviews

True Classic Tees is an online clothing brand and retailer that states they donate a portion of their profits to an organization developing tiny homes for military veterans.

Founders Ryan Bartlett, Nick Ventura, and Matthew Winnick got into the t-shirt business when they found the current market lacking in quality options.

Tired of constantly purchasing tees that would stretch out too quickly, shrink, or just not fit right they created their brand to fit everyone including dad bods and beer bellies.

Coming from military backgrounds, they wanted to create a business that would not just help those looking for quality shirts but would also serve an ethical purpose.

Products

The company claims that their shirts work for men of all sizes, and they even have shirts for fat guys and big guys, aka big and tall.

One of the unique features about True Classic Tees are their humorous commercials highlighting the differences in the shirts they produce versus the competition’s products.

True Classic Tees sells a variety of shirt options, including:

  • Crew Neck
  • Polos
  • Henley
  • Long Sleeve
  • V Neck
  • Pocket
  • Raglan
  • Long Body
  • Tank Top
  • Sweatshirts

The company also offers hats, shorts, underwear, socks, comfort sets, and joggers for sale.

After trying out many different tees to find the best material blend, the company decided that having a 60/40 combination of cotton and polyester had the best fit for various body types.

With this blend, they developed a variety of shirts, including those listed above.

To honor the founders’ military background, they chose to donate a percentage of profits to benefit veterans. They decided to work with the Tiny House Project in Savannah, Georgia, to provide homes for veterans that are currently homeless.

How To Wash True Classic Tees?

The washing instructions for True Classic Tees are similar to most regular t-shirts.

The company recommends washing the shirts with like colors in cold water. Following that, they instruct customers to lay shirts flat to dry, or use a low temperature dryer setting.

It is worth noting that drying your tee may result in about 5% shrinkage. The company also does not accept returns of washed products.

Online Customer Reviews & Complaints

True Classic Tees does not have a Better Business Bureau (BBB) profile, but does have positive third-party feedback.

Many customers provide honest reviews of the products, including the quality of the materials and the positive customer service.

While there are some instances of delayed response from the support center, many have had quick and reliable communication from the company.

Several consumers have written positive Henley reviews that described how comfortable the clothing was.

Additionally, while there is a negative long sleeve review or two, the overwhelming majority are positive.  The company also has high hoodie reviews.

Overall based on the online reviews it appears that complaints fall into one of two main categories, either sizing or shipping.

It does seem that the company has a very active and responsive custom service team that reaches out to users with issues in an attempt to resolve issues.

Competitors & Alternatives

In addition to True Classic Tees, there are other similar options available, including:

True Classic Tees vs. Fresh Clean Tees - Fresh Clean Tees offers many of the same styles and products as True Classic Tees. However, the material make up is not the same and profits don’t support an important cause.

True Classic Tees vs. Uniqlo - Uniqlo is based in Japan and offers clothing options for men, women, and children. The available clothing is much larger in variety than True Classic Tees.

True Classic Tees vs. Next Level - While Next Level offers a variety of tees, they also have a focus on women, men, and children. They also incorporate beach wear into their lineup.

The Bottom Line

In many cases, you get what you pay for when it comes to clothing.  Typically, the higher cost brands come with more durable materials and a better fit. However, those options are not easily affordable to everyone.

Having an option that is made with quality materials that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg is beneficial. When the clothing also has high ratings and supports an ethical cause, that is even better.

True Classic Tees offers well reviewed apparel at a reasonable price. Additionally, they donate a portion of their profits to homeless veterans.

Purchasing similar clothing in a store will often run you a higher price and without the satisfaction of helping those in need.

Keep in mind that while there are many positive reviews, there are also some customers who have faced challenges with company communication.

Additionally, some consumers have purchased the size dictated by the “Find My Fit” calculator and have found it to be the wrong size.

However, with the overall high reviews and the refund policy that the company offers, we feel comfortable recommending this brand.
