About SwingShot

SwingShot.com is the online home of the SwingShot, a new golf video camera which has been specially designed to quickly and accurate record players while they are in action on the course so they can better improve their swing.

How Does It Work?

According to their website, the reality is that all athletes suffer from issues with their game, small kinks or mechanical errors that crop up from time to time and get the better of your performance. Every athlete has the ability to develop bad habits, the problem is what happens when these habits are left unchecked. Often they can become deeply engrained, making them extremely difficult to correct.

To solve this, the website says that top coaches and instructors acknowledge that video analysis can be one of the most impactful innovations in training. Its one thing for a trainer to point out what you are doing wrong, but a completely other thing for you to see it and identify it for yourself, as well as have a clear way to envision and understand how to correct it.

Another issue, however, is when you are being videotaped. Many practice facilities offer recording equipment, but the unfortunate reality is that many athletes play differently in real, competitive circumstances than when they are in a practice session. Because of this, the SwingShot camera was designed to take with onto the course and record what you are doing in real time.

And because they respect play time, the creators of SwingShot made sure to make their product as easy and quick to use as possible, so it never interferes with your game or disrupts other players on the course.

Cost/Price Plans

Currently there are three different models of the Swingshot you can choose from. The first is their Cyclops model, priced at $199.99 and which has all the basic features you will find on all their models, including a color LCD viewfinder, wind resistant mic, stainless steel turf spike, four recording modes, and more than two hours of battery life.

There are a handful of golf websites and blogs that recommend this camera, some highly and some less so, but in general all of the third party reviews about this product appear to be mostly positive. There are some customer complaints about this product however, as some customers have mentioned that they are currently running advertisements for the SwingShot that promises features this camera doesn’t actually have yet, and will only be available on later models. Customers who purchased this product because of the ad were very disappointed that they felt this product was misrepresented.

Competitors and Alternatives?

Though it does not appear that there are many action cameras designed specifically for use on the golf course, some people have recommended that people interested in this product simply purchase a stable mount for their smartphone and ultimately use the video capability of their smartphone the way they would use this product. Ultimately the choice belongs to each individually consumer and is dependent on their needs and their budget.
