SunSetter Retractable Awnings Reviews
About SunSetter Retractable Awnings
SunSetter Retractable Awnings, found online at SunSetter.com, says they are America’s largest manufacturer of deck and patio awnings, which can improve the look of your home and help reduce energy costs.
According to their website, a study conducted by the American Society of Heating and Air Conditioning Engineers says that solar radiation through glass – sunlight which makes its way into your home – is responsible for around 20% of the load on the air conditioner.
This study goes on to say that outside shade products can reduce this solar radiation and the strain on the air conditioner up to 70% depending on where you place the awning on your house.
SunSetter makes retractable awnings, both manual and motorized, in a variety of fabrics, colors, and sizes which you can choose based on the space, home, and personal preference.
The website provides helpful guidelines if you need help measuring your space, as well as a feature that allows you to upload a photo of your actual home and then adjust it to include a SunSetter awning so you can find the best colors.
SunSetter awnings are assembled in America and delivered directly to you. You can install them yourself or you can have a free in home consultation with a dealer in order to price installation.
Depending on whether the awning you choose is manual or motorized, the size, and the fabric, the price of your awning will range from $499 for a basic model to $2,549 for the highest quality SunSetter Motorized Awning.
These are the promotional prices you are eligible for just by providing SunSetter.com with your basic contact information. You can also order a free Idea Kit and DVD and receive a $200 Savings Certificate.
Once your awning is ordered and installed, if you have any issues or complaints you can contact their Customer Service for assistance. They claim to be committed to high quality customer service and ensuring all their customers are happy with their purchase.

1 ‘SunSetter Retractable Awnings’ Review
i called Sunsetter and agreed to pay over 1000 for an 8 foot retractable (non-motorized) awning. The were exceptionally nice when taking my order.. but that was where it ENDED. I had to wait 2 weeks before UPS called to schedule a delivery. They insisted it I had to be there to sign and they would deliver any time between 1-6pm (even cable doesn't do this to you)… I sat around waiting all day and NO DELIVERY. When I called UPS.. just platitudes and no answer as to WHEN it would actually be delivered. Then I called SunSetter…they said it wasn’t their responsibility after product left their facility. They were no help and for my inconvenience.. sitting around for 6 hours waiting for a delivery that never came… when I needed to be elsewhere..they wanted to send me some cover for free. I told them that my time was worth much more and that IT WAS their responsibility, I was paying them 1000 for an awning…and resented them telling me there was nothing they could do nor that is wasn’t their problem. I was so incensed by the time they refused to do anything to support a customer (who by the way had bought other product) that i told them to just Cancel the order and I’d go somewhere else. OF COURSE that’s when all of a sudden they cared. (again think of cable) Bottom line here is: A) this company’s products are over priced compared to competitors, B) they don’t provide a quality service and support. I will never buy from them again (and I own a number of small rental properties and put awnings up from time to time)… and I would HIGHLY CAUTION anyone from EVER buying from this company. I hope they see this… there is nothing they can say to make this any better at this point.
