About StoneTether

The StoneTether, available at, describes itself as "a new and unique wireless tracking device" that works with your smartphone to make sure that you do not lose track of or forget important items.

How Does It Work?

StoneTether is a small, tile shaped device which is designed to be attached to anything you would like to keep track of. Using the small hole in the upper corner it can be put on a key ring, or using basic adhesive strips it can be attached to a computer, a remote control, or anything else you choose.

You can set up your mobile application to alert you if the item moves too far away from you or if you move too far away from it. You can also set it up to make noises which will help you find a lost set of keys or remote control.

The StoneTether will work up to 1450 feet unobstructed, and up to 500 feet obstructed, and even up to 30 ft under water if that is applicable.

Mobile Options

When the StoneTether product launches, its mobile application will be available for both iOS and Android devices.

Cost/Price Plans

The StoneTether is currently in pre-production and will not be available for sale on the general market until 2015, but their current Kickstarter campaign will allow early donators to receive a single StoneTether device for an $18 donation, which is like much cheaper than it will retail for when it officially goes on the market. The mobile application is free to download.

Serial Scammers -STAY AWAY!

July24, 2016

Do back these scammers, they have no intention of making this product, they just took the money and ran.

Unless you like to throw away money, do not send these people money.

Kickstarter allowed these scammers to rip people off.

Looks like a scam

March3, 2016

This is money I'll never see again. There have been promises and excuses and reschedules but let's be honest, we're never going to see the product. I backed StoneTether on Kickstarter on December 15th of last year with a shipment date of April. Every month or so there has been an update email along the lines of “due to unexpected [insert excuse], the shipment date has been moved back to [insert date at least a month later than previously expected], but it's coming”.

Where they used to respond to questions about shipment, there's now no response and all comments about it on their Facebook page are almost immediately deleted.

There has been no proof that the product actually exists and I'm giving up hope that I'll ever see the two tethers I ordered and paid for.

Smells Like a Scam

August13, 2015

All you have to do is read the backers' comments on the Kickstarter page to see that this is really looking like a scam.

They haven't shipped, in fact they don't even have a date for when they will be ready. Their last update had more excuses for delays and no real time frame.

They are deleting comments from their Facebook page and banning their backers from their Facebook page.

One backer has filed a complaint with the DA.

There is the Facebook page StoneTether Kickstarter Fraud Victims
