About Smith Home Remodel App

Smith Home Remodel App is a new mobile application designed for people who have home improvement projects which says that they will provide them with access to top rated contractors.

How Does It Work?

Homeowners can go to their website and submit three basic pieces of information in order to get started: the type of project they need an estimate, your residential area zip code, and an email address you can be reached at. You will then be asked to provide a detail description of your project, so that available contractors in your area can better provide you with an estimated quote for your job.

You will then receive the best three estimates for your project. Estimates will vary depending on the type of job it is. Some jobs are straight forward and will have an easy, set pricing structure, while other estimates may provide an average price with the ways in which that price could fluctuate up and down – a set price will only be given after you meet with the contractor and are able to provide them with a full set of details.

Unfortunately, the price of some jobs can vary so widely that the contractor has no choice but to bid $0, and wait until reviewing your specific needs before they can quote a price.

Smith Home Remodel App does promise that all their contractors go through a “rigorous process of researching and vetting” so you can trust any contractor you are connected with through their application.

Mobile Options

At this time, this mobile application is available for both iOS and Android mobile devices.

Cost/Price Plans

For home owners looking for contractors, there is absolutely no cost associated with their service. In order for their mobile app to function well, they need a large audience of customers for their contractors.

For contractors, though, there are some fees associated with their services. Becoming a member of the Smith Home Remodel App is free, as is evaluating potential projects and submitting your bids for them. Whenever a client accepts your bid, however, you will be required to pay an “appointment credit” to meet with the client and move forward with the project – this credit costs $8.

Refund Policy

As this application does not charge any membership fees to either homeowners or contractors, there is no standard Refund Policy offered at this time. However, the website does say that if a contractor pays for an appointment credit to move forward with a project, and the homeowner doesn’t show or cancels the project, the appointment credit will be refunded to the contractor.

Customer Service Contact Info

Customers who would like to contact Customer Service with any questions, concerns, or complaints can do so by phone at 855-878-7850, by email at [email protected], or by submitting them directly to their website using the Contact Us link.

Reputation

Unfortunately there are not very many reviews available for this company, especially reviews written by customers who have used a contractor recommended by this app, which makes it more difficult for potential customers to decide whether or not this app will truly be helpful for their home remodel needs.

However, the reviews that do exist for this app are very favorable. People say the app is easy to use and has a simple interface, and home improvement websites frequently list this app as a good option for homeowners who are looking for help with home remodel projects.

Competitors and Alternatives?

There are many other websites and mobile applications designed to help people find high quality professional workers for their home projects, including AngiesList.com, HomeAdvisor.com, Billy.com, ServiceMagic.com, Houzz.com, and many more.

If you have any experience with this company or their products, please leave your Smith Home Remodel App reviews below.

DONT GET RIPPED OFF!!

April8, 2019

These guys sent two separate leads to me . The first was a customer who misrepresented what they wanted as far as work done and since I called to asked the customer about the project I was charged.... I get that part. I was later sent an additional lead whom I contacted and the customer said that they did not even request services. If you buy credits with this company you will not have any money returned to you for the credit purchases even if the work does not suit you or is out of you work area

All Fake Leads for $80+ Each

January3, 2018

If they didn't have a waiver of legal rights clause this company wouldn't exist. They operate by scamming with bogus leads and nonexistent promises in their return policy. Most people start companies to help fill a need. Smith creates fake needs and then sells them to people, promising returns that never happen. After I complained they offered me free credits and a $50000 roofing job to use them on. When i called it was a person who had never heard of it, had not plans to do any work on their house, and didn't know how they got their number. Scam

So far, not much value to me

September8, 2017

I initially got two texts, both claiming that someone wanted to have locksmith work done. Purchased four credits. Since then, no more leads. I've also been using another app, which charges less for leads. In several years, I've had very few jobs from the other app. Most recently, I've been getting requests from well outside the 35 mile radius I defined. No point in quoting these, because I'd either lose money on travel costs or my quote would be far higher than customers would pay. Another issue with these apps is there is never sufficient detail to provide a good estimate. One job I had was to install a lock that the customer said she had. It was a used lock and missing the latch bolt. I happened to have one that was usable and completed the job. No profit on that job.

Do not use nightmare.

June13, 2017

I am a framing contractor in Kansas City. Missouri. Often I put ads on craigslist when looking for new employees. Every time I do I get bombarded with calls from smith. They send texts with job information. To receive the lead all I had to do is respond to the text which prompted me to set up payment. After payment was made,I got the lead. Just like that. No background check, no interview, no references. Just a payment and that's it. To me this is absolutely horrifying. For a scammer. This app is heaven. Never has a scammer had it so easy. The app provides all the contacts and provides a level of anonymity. Never in my life have I seen such disregard for the safety of customers. There are much better ways to find contractors. Much safer ways. Do not use this app.

Do not use

May23, 2017

They do not research contractors. They send fake responses of contractors names. I had a job received 6 contractors names. 4 cancelled the request as they did not respond smith sent their name without approval. One does not do work in my area and the other that I hired did not finish the job did shoddy work on what he did do and his partner promised to come back and fix it and never did. I have used other sites and NEVER had this problem. I tried to contact Smith and can't they don't respond. Stay far far away!

Stay Clear of GOSMITH.COM

March16, 2017

Not necessarily a SCAM, just a RIP OFF to Service Providers. They began texting me constantly with "Job Leads" and I could not figure out how they even got my Cell Number. I was STUPID enough to purchase some discounted "Credits" to apply toward any "Job Lead" I was interested in. The "average lead cost" was suppose to be 4-5 credits in my category and all of a sudden my "credits" were disappearing toward "Job Leads" I never requested, were out of town and even out of our Category of Business! The "Job Leads" were at 8 Credits each...NOT 4-5!! When I requested a Refund for those Credits, I got the refund and they turned around and used my credits AGAIN WITHOUT CONSENT! They even used my Credit Card WHICH WAS NOT SUPPOSE TO BE ON FILE to purchase more credits to apply to even more "Job Leads" I DID NOT AUTHORIZE!! DO NOT GET INVOLVED WITH THIS COMPANY!! I am working with my Bank now to get all money back. This Company operates with Deceptive Trade Practices!

Scam, purchased credits for some leads and all the names and numbers were bogus. No one answered the phone. Left message and no response. Stay away.

You know a Company is one big Scam when you can Never get a live person to speak with. Try to call with a question and see what you get!!! I am in the process of contacting the Attorney General to stop them from incessantly texting me. Horrible Company, don't even think about using them whether you are a contractor or homeowner, you have been warned.

August 26, 2017

Can you let me know how it went contacting the Attorney General? I never signed up for their services, just got a text out of the blue, mistakenly hit 1 because I assumed (NEVER ASSUME!) that it was from Yelp which I had just signed up for. I immediately realized it wasn't and then pressed 3 and blocked the number. Since then we are getting several texts per day from numbers ALL over the country and I continue to block them. I would love to know how to get rid of them!!!

August 27, 2017

I emailed Smith a few threatening emails and they responded back days later. I had purchased credits to apply toward jobs I wanted to quote and they were Stealing my credits back and applying them toward jobs in others cities as well as jobs my company does not perform. Money was involved in online transactions so it was FTC Rules that were being broken now! They were sending me texts I responded to as well... threatening them!!! Good luck!! They did return ALL my money by the way!

Amazing!!

I use this app for all my household contracting needs. Quick response time and eager contractors willing to earn your business. The app is easy to navigate and two way conversations with the contractor helps with all jobs because you get answers from the source, not the salesman. Recommend this app to anyone wanting to contract any job.

I was researching contractors to complete my basement and was interested in having optional financing to complete it with the contractor on my cell phone. It was a miracle because I ending up on Smiths website. I registered and requested a quote. My further research lead me to be at ease to select from the professionals they sent to me. I love your service and I am in the process of receiving the bids and interviewing now. I truly appreciate the user friendliness of the app and the dialog with customer service through the app.
