Skyscanner is an online travel booking website found at Skyscanner.com that describes themselves as “a leading global travel search website” that has the ability to give their customers instant online comparisons for millions of flights.
How Does It Work?
According to their website, their service acts like an aggregate that collects information from thousands of different websites in order to find their customers the very best travel deals and prices that are available at any time.
In addition, they offer flexible search options, which means that customers can browse prices across a whole month, even a whole year, so they can always get the best understanding of how the prices will change depending on when they are hoping to travel and when they are buying their tickets.
To use their service, all you do is go to their website and choose the type of category you are interested in searching, including Flights, Hotels, and Car Rentals. For customers that are more interested in looking at what potential travel and vacation plans are available, you can also look for specific deals by flights or hotels of a specific continent or region that you are interested in traveling to, or by a specific airline that you know or feel comfortable with.
Using this site is completely free. Once you have found a flight or a hotel deal that you are interested in reserving, clicking on the link to make the purchase will actually take you to the original host website of that deal – you will never make any payments directly to Skyscanner.com.
Whenever a travel reservation is made that originates at Skyscanner, the airline, hotel, or travel agent that benefits from the reservation being made is then responsible for paying a fee to Skyscanner, meaning that no costs are paid by the actual traveler.
Since no fees are paid at any time to Skyscanner.com, there is no Refund Policy being offered by this website. Instead, customers will have to look at all Cancellation and Refund Policies that are offered by the website where they are actually making their purchase, in order to make sure they are protected in cases where they made need to cancel their trip plans.
Customer Service Contact Info
Customers who have questions, concerns, or complaints they would like to direct to their Customer Service team can contact them by submitting them directly to their website through their Terms & Conditions page, which offers a Contact Us link at the bottom of the page.
There are not very many customer or user reviews of this website at this time, though those that are available seem very positive, without very many complaints or criticism.
As far as third party independent reviewers are concerned, Skyscanner seems like a favorite travel website and mobile application, and is mentioned at a variety of publications as being one of the best ways to research or to make your travel reservations.
Competitors and Alternatives?
Travel booking websites have become an extremely competitive field in the last few years, with as many websites as there are places to travel. Other websites which offer similar claims or capabilities to Skyscanner.com include Cheapflights.com, Travelation.com, BookIt.com, and more.

1 ‘Skyscanner.com’ Review
I came across this site and put it to some use. I'm in Cleveland, and one thing I noticed is that there's not a of international flights out of CLE. However, this site covers all of the airports with international flights, DET, ORC, JFK and they prices were nice! Once I clicked on something I like, I booked it. It also gave me the exact airline company, so if I wanted to use flight points, I can go straight to the website and book. But thanks to skyscanner, I was able to find the flights I want.
