About SitterCity.com

Finding a babysitter or a nanny is what Sittercity.com was developed for. With their site you can view many experienced sitters and determine which ones fit your requirements and needs. Since its start, Sittercity has attained over two million caregivers throughout the nation. Other services available through their site include dog walking, tutoring, elderly care and housekeeping.

A four step screening process gives you control to decide which caregiver you want to hire. This process gives you the ability to interview the candidates, check references, follow up on reviews, and research their backgrounds. Each caregiver must take a Sittercity pledge and agree to their interims of the process and the professionalism they are to display in the community. Their profiles are verified through a third party and they go through a review process regarding their history.

To find a caregiver through Sittercity, you must sign up to become a member of their service. After filling out a form you have two membership options in which to pick from. The standard membership costs $35.00 month. It includes full unlimited access to their site and the capability to connect with local sitters. The premium membership is $70.00 year. Included in this membership you will have unlimited access for 1 year and three free background checks.

Automatic renewal of each member’s subscription continues until it has been cancelled. Once you decide to cancel and have notified them of this request, you have access to the database until that membership period is over. There are not any refunds for the remainder of the time left on your subscription.

Sittercity also has a corporate program and is a great benefit for companies to offer their employees; it costs just a few dollars per employee. Businesses using this service can increase productivity, increase performance, and increase their overall bottom line. The opportunity for businesses to offer employees a service of this sort takes the weight off of working parents who constantly worry about the needs and care of their children.

If a child is sick and has to stay home from school or has a vacation day, parents are often forced to stay home from work to be with them. Companies suffer when their employees are not there to complete their work. Employees always appreciate the assistance and concern of employers who acknowledge challenges they may face outside of work. This genuine display of concern allows companies to show employees the importance of what they contribute to the workplace.

Sittercity’s competitor Care.com is very similar in their capacity and their overall services. Both of these companies have caregivers in their database that are distributed throughout the nation.

Care.com has a feature called “Care on Call”; if a sitter cancels at the last moment they will quickly find a replacement. With Care.com you can also search for sitters by specific days and hours.

Sittercity has a functionality that enables caregiver seekers to search by spoken language and is afforded the option to hire caregivers that have experience caring for people with special needs.  Sittercity is also enhanced with a connection to Facebook and Twitter to locate caregivers for free.

If you don’t feel comfortable finding a caregiver online, always have a babysitter ready and always have a backup. Go to friends and family members to see if they can help, if they can’t they probably know of someone who can. Talk to other parents in the school who may be able to help you or get references from other parents.

It is also helpful to know that video technology enables the use of a VideoCam to remotely monitor the activity in your home while you are not there. This device will bring you peace of mind.

ugh! this is the no reply website

October16, 2015

They make their money on driving record only background checks and other useless services. Parents hardly EVER reply. The site allows parents to leave ads up for long periods of time and the nannies and providers needing a job have their time wasted by rude parents who never delete ads or reply either way. It is a waste of time and you will very rarely get a job reply

Scam Artists!!!

December29, 2014

I'd give less than one star if I could. These people get you signed up for 'one month' of membership and then continue to charge your account!!! I've had to cancel my card and order new ones because of them. They charged me for 9 months when I only needed one month subscription!!! Stay away, they are a bunch of thieves!!!

ANOTHER SCAM

July14, 2013

Bunch of crooks working for this company... especially Holly. "Customer service" just hangs up on you. Bunch scammers who will steal your money, terminate your account, and then move on to their next victim. Please save yourself the stress and money and don't trust this crap website to find a sitter.

Wow you hate them more than I do. My complaint is the no reply ads and their lack of rules about people leaving ads up long after they don't need the help anymore. I am done with them
