Shoptagr, found online at Shoptagr.com, is a new website and mobile application that describes themselves as “your smart shopping assistant” who makes sure that you will never miss an item you hope to buy.

How Does It Work?

According to their website, Shoptagr wanted to give people a way to shop online and buy the products they want on sale without having to go through the work of finding online coupons, promotional products, or managing multiple wish lists. 

Their website says that they are partnered with more than 1,100 online stores and their users can save products from all of their partner stores directly to their website and app, allowing them to access all their saved shopping lists in a single place, whenever you want. 

Whenever one of the items you have saved either goes onto sale or comes back into stock, their mobile application will send you a notification so that you know when to make your purchase. Customers can also use their app to send people their lists for Christmas or for birthdays. 

When you are ready to purchase an item, simply click the BUY button next to the item and you’ll be taken to the original store to make your purchase. Their website says that they have currently saved their customers more than $21 million dollars.

At this time it appears that Shoptagr is available for both iOS and Android devices and will be free to download on both platforms. 

Cost/Price Plans

This mobile application and website are free to download and use at this time. When it comes time for customers to actually purchase any products on their list, they will be redirected to the website of the actual retailer where they will complete their purchase, and prices will be dependent on that retailer, the specific item, and any sales or promotions which are taking place at the time of purchase. 

Refund Policy

Because customers don’t actually purchase products directly from this mobile application or website, Shoptagr won’t actually be responsible for providing their customers with any kind of a refund or return guidelines. Customers will need to speak directly to the retailer that they actually purchased their products from in order to see what kind of Refund Policy that retailer wants customers to adhere to.

Reputation

It’s not surprising that this company currently receives many different positive reviews, as they are a free service that notifies customers when items they already know they want to purchase become available for sale or are restocked. As a free service, customers should feel comfortable trying this for themselves to see whether or not it meets their needs. 

Competitors and Alternatives?

There are many different shopping applications which attempt to help people manage their online shopping from a single source, including Polyvore and ShopStyle, but these apps are not necessarily intended to keep long term shopping lists and monitor prices and stock the way Shoptagr claims to be.

Bad support

I wrote to Shoptagr because I had log in problems. All they did was ask me to update my App(which I had already done so and still couldn’t log in). After writing to them a 2nd, 3rd 4th Time, I still have not heard back from them about my log in solution.

Such lousy customer service in my opinion. If they would like to launch an App where customers are going to have inquries, they should improve their customer service or IT support before fully launching this service

Scammy, unethical practices

I have been going back and forth with customer service in order to fully delete my account. They try to trick you at first by telling you THEY have fully deactivated your account, but the notifications still come through. Of course, deactivating is not the same as deleting. They do not listen to the customer. Huge red flag that setting up my account was so easy, but I have no freedom to delete the account. What a scammy, frustrating practice.

Not working

It notified me 24 hours after there is a sale on an item, and I miss the sale.
