About Ship Sticks
ShipSticks.com is the online home of Ship Sticks, a company that says they have solved the problems that traditional complicate the golf club shipping process, so that customers can get their clubs wherever they need them.
How Does It Work?
According to their website, you simply sign up for a Ship Sticks account and provide them with all your trip information up to 60 days in advance of when you need your clubs shipped.
After arrangement your shipment, you will print your shipping label to affix to your clubs. To prepare them for shipment, you must put them in a travel bag, hard case, or box. A golf bag shipping box can be purchased at your local UPS or FedEx store.
You can then arrange for your bag to be picked up from your home, office, or golf course, or you can drop them off at the nearest UPS or FedEx store yourself. You don’t actually need to be present when the clubs are picked up; just make sure they are in an easily accessible location where the shipping driver can get them without difficulty.
Standard golf bags must be 42 pounds or less to receive discounts; if your package is going to exceed 42 pounds in weight, you must select the “Staff/XL” bag which covers packages up to 56 pounds. The Ship Sticks website also includes a list of items which are not allowed to be shipped – customers should ensure their package meets all requirements, otherwise it could be delayed in transit and disrupt your trip.
Signing up for a customer account on their website to arrange your shipments is absolutely free. The cost of shipping your golf clubs depends entirely on the distance you ship your clubs, the weight of your package, and any special instructions or circumstances, but this cost will be clearly displayed to you before accept and submit your order.
Customers are able to receive a full refund of their charges as long as they cancel their shipment within 48 hours prior to the scheduled pick up date. Customers who cancel less than 48 hours in advance will be able to receive an account credit for the amount of the shipment, less a $10.00 cancellation fee. This credit is described as fully transferable and will not expire.

There appears to be many reviews available of this company online, most of which are very positive about the experience they had. Unfortunately, it does seem as though this company isn’t immune to shipping problems, and there are customers who have complained of delayed shipments and lost clubs.
While this is to be expected and may be out of the company’s control, these same negative reviews complained about the company’s apathetic response and the lack of Customer Service assistance. Thankfully, these complaints seem few and far between.
Competitors and Alternatives?
There are many other companies that promise to ship or deliver all kinds of products, but not necessarily another company that specializes in shipping golf clubs specifically, so customers need to figure out what best works for them and their needs.

Was travelling on business to LA and had an opportunity to play Trump National. Shipped clubs via ship sticks well in advance (2-weeks prior to date of play). Friday late afternoon (after 4:00) January 5th I get a notice that they can't locate my clubs and can't track the package until the following Monday the day after I am scheduled to play. They said they were last scanned on Monday January 1st. They said they would reimburse me up to $200 for rental clubs, (rentals will cost me $80). So I paid them $150 to ship my custom clubs, which are now lost, and they are going to reimburse me $80 for rentals. If I wanted to play "off the rack rentals" for a once in a lifetime golf opportunity I would have done so. At a minimum I would have expected a full refund plus the cost of the rentals. Never again will I use ship sticks and will share this experience with anyone who ever mentions there service.
So, Ship Sticks lost my ski's, boots, and all associated gear!
Also, had I known they were just shipping through UPS--I would have never done it and not sure what the point of using Ship Sticks is?
Broke TaylorMade R11s driver on first, and likely only, use of service. Insult to injury - they are ducking the claim by making the process as onerous as possible.
Believe it or not, the airlines are more responsible than this outfit.
Terrible experience using ShipSticks. Myself and 5 friends decided to ship our clubs from Boston to Mesquite Nevada on our annual 7 day golf trip, big mistake. The driver in my bag had the head snapped off, one set of clubs in another bag had 3 bent steel shafts including his putter and his 5 iron was in two pieces, worst of all one set never made it there at all. We Exchanged daily phone calls and emails with a customer rep named Ryan but got nothing but a constant run around and no satisfaction at all. They told us my friend could spend $200 and he would be reimbursed, hardly adequate to pay for 6 days of rental clubs and buy a pair of shoes plus balls. They never took any responsibility and just passed the blame on to UPS who obviously did not treat our clubs kindly but Ship Sticks is the company we trusted to get our clubs to our vacation site on time and intact, epic fail. Would strongly suggest to never use this poorly run company.
