Seamless, found online at Seamless.com, is a new web based service and mobile app which promises to help customers find and order food from their favorite local restaurants.
How Does It Work?
Seamless partners with local restaurants that don’t offer their own in-house delivery service to provide customers with delivery services of their favorite foods from more than 12,000 restaurants and more than 80 different cuisine types. They are currently the nation’s largest online and mobile food ordering company and currently have more than one million members.
Seamless.com works hard to provide their customers with features that aren’t available on many other ordering websites, including the option to leave reviews and feedback for the restaurants they have ordered from in the past.
In addition they offer their customers the chance to search their website for not just a specific restaurant or specific cuisine, but for a specific food they are craving. So instead of searching for Mexican, you can specifically search for “Chicken Enchiladas” and be provided with a list of restaurants in your area that serve that specific item.
At this time, the website says that they do provide their customers with downloadable applications for iOS and Android platforms.
This service is technically free to use, free to set up an account, and says that they do not charge any fees for their service at this time. In addition, they say that the restaurants they partner with are “contractually required to offer the same prices as they provide on their printed delivery menus.”
If you believe that the prices posted on Seamless.com are different from the prices posted at your local restaurant – specifically for delivery – then they ask that you contact their Customer Service team and report the discrepancy, so they can speak to the restaurant directly.
Seamless does not offer a Refund Policy to their customers because the money paid by their customers is paid to the restaurants themselves. Therefore, if there is a problem with your service or your order, you must contact the restaurant from which you ordered directly and discuss with them the possibility of a refund or future credits.

While Seamless is a well-liked and well regarded service for the most part, there is an issue that appears to be mentioned frequently when customers discuss the use of this service to find new local restaurants that they haven’t yet tried: the fact that their reviews and ratings are not trustworthy.
As an article in Business Insider points out, restaurants that have five star ratings on Seamless often have two stars or less on review site Yelp.com, which is known for having a much more sophisticated rating system that works hard to manage the issue of fake reviews being posted. There is an easy fix for that however – simply double check the ratings of the restaurant in question on other review sites to get a better understanding of their actual quality.
