Paribus, found online at Paribus.co, is a new mobile application which promises to give people a way to find and collect any store refunds which may be owed to you.
How Does It Work?
Some shoppers may be familiar with store policies which offer price adjustment. Often these policies say that a customer who has purchased a certain product which has since gone on sale within a specific time period from that customer’s date of purchase, then that customer is eligible for a refund of the price difference.
This means that if you purchase a product for $20 which then goes on sale for $10 within the next week, you would be eligible for a refund of $10. The Paribus app says that they will get that money for you.
To do that, they ask that customers give them access to whichever email account they use where stores will email their receipts. Once you have connected your Paribus account with your email account, it will scan your receipts regularly and make requests for refunds on your behalf whenever a price adjustment policy is applicable.
Currently Paribus will only be able to provide this service for you when it comes to stores that they have already partnered with. These stores include Best Buy, J. Crew, Macy’s, Walmart, Amazon, and some others. Customers will want to refer to their website for a full list.
Unfortunately it appears as though this mobile application is only available for iOS smart phones and tablets at this time, and the website does not offer any information regarding whether or not they will be expanding to Android or Windows any time in the future.
Currently this application is completely free to download, free to register, and free to use. However, whenever this application is able to successfully scan your receipts and secure a refund for you, they will take 25% of the money that is refunded back to you.
Because this app is free to download and does not charge their members any fees unless they successfully retrieve refund money for their customers, there should not really be any reason for a customers to contact this mobile application regarding a refund. If you feel like a mistake was made regarding any of your payments, you will need to contact their Customer Service team.

This mobile application is still so new that there are hardly any reviews of this app at all, but the few which are available all point out legitimate concerns that many prospective customers may have.
First, there is the concern about giving this app access to your email account. This is a legitimate concern, but unfortunately one that customers will have to assess for themselves before they decide whether to use this service.
Another concern is that this company is only partnered with a small number of stores at this time, and if they are not stores that you use very often then this app is not likely to be very beneficial for you.
Finally the fact that this company takes 25% of the refund you are provided may not make everyone very happy, but the concept is that this mobile application is securing refunds for you that you are unlikely to secure for yourself. If you feel that you will be capable of taking the time and effort to get these refunds on your own on a regular basis, then probably it is not worth it to you to lose this 25%, but for many other people that don’t want to take that time on their own, this is likely a reasonable deal for them.
Competitors and Alternatives?
There are many other applications which promise to help people earn cashback on their shopping or which promise people access to special coupons and discounts to save them money before they shop, but this may be the first “refund” application.
