Oyster Books Reviews
About Oyster Books
Oyster Books has been described as "the Netflix for books," and is a monthly subscription service that gives you access to over 200,000 books available to read both on and offline.
How Does It Work?
All potential subscribers are able to get a free one month trial of the product to see for themselves whether or not they like it. Once your account is set up, all you have to do is search through their library of offerings and download whatever book you are interested in reading to your iPhone, iPad, or iTouch.
As long as you are an active member of Oyster Books, you'll be able to access any book you want at any point in time.
All new customers can use the full range of Oyster Books services completely for free for one month from the date they create their account. At the end of one month's time, you will need to enroll in their paid for subscription services, which costs $9.95 per month.
As of right now Oyster Books are only downloadable to Apple mobile devices, like the iPhone, iPad, and iTouch. But they are working on an Android format currently and may expand further than that in the future.
Since Oyster Books gives all members access to a 30 day free trial and they do not offer long term subscription contacts, they also do not offer any refunds. You can, however, cancel their services at any time without hassle or penalty.
Customer Service Contact Info
There is more than one email address for their Customer Service depending on the nature of your question or complaint. General service requests can be sent to [email protected], but they also offer [email protected] where they say customers can contact them for book recommendations based on their personal preferences.
When Oyster Books initially launched there was some criticism due to what some people felt was a lack of selection, but since their launch they have dramatically increased their offerings and continue to add new titles everyday.
Is It Safe?
There does not seem to be any complaints regarding safety at this time.
Competitors and Alternatives?
This company was one of the first of their kind but since they have been established, there are some other competitors also available, like Scribd.com.
