About Ooma Internet Phone
Ooma Internet Phone service, found online at Ooma.com, says that their “revolutionary device” will free you from your expensive home phone bills without sacrificing any quality of service.
With Ooma Internet Phone, you can connect your existing home telephone to your high speed internet connection, and activate your account online in less than 15 minutes. They claim to provide you with PureVoice HD technology, so your calls will be high audio quality, and to give you the same features – and more – as a landline service.
These features include voicemail, caller ID, call waiting, emergency call ID – which automatically provides your address to the emergency service providers when you call 911 – as well as free calling anywhere in the world to other Ooma services, and more.
Customers with basic service will have free calls to anyone, anywhere in the US, with just paying applicable taxes and fees depending on where you live. You can determine what taxes and fees are applicable to your region simply by putting your zip code into their website. This cost per month is often less than $10.00.
With the basic service you can keep your current number if you pay a one time fee of $40, but if you opt for premier service which costs $9.99 a month plus taxes and fees, you either keep your phone number for free, or choose a free accessory when you sign up for a year’s subscription.
All new Ooma Internet Phone users will receive a 60 day free trial of the premier service. At the end of this trial you will either choose to revert back to basic service or keep the premier service for the subscription fee.
If you aren’t sure whether this service is worth it, or if you have a competitor service like MagicJack and are interested in comparing the two, you can try the Ooma service for 30 days. If you are unhappy or have complaints, you can take advantage of their no questions asked return policy.
