6 ‘OKCupid’ Reviews
Excellent matching system. If you want commonalities and actually want to meet someone for more than ass. Then Okcupid is hands down the best online for free. The women generally seem very interested in meeting a match. I met my current gf on there and we've been together for over a year now. Prior to that I met another girl on there and we were together for a couple of years. I cant say anything bad about the site because they have done their part, the rest lies on you.
I have been on this site for one year and I can say it's a total waste of time.
The girls never reply and when they do its basically just to mess with you. I've tried everything I could think of to get them to reply too.
It doesn't matter what your profile says, what kind of pics you post, what kind of message you sent or how high of a match you are: they simply will not reply to your messages!
too many female profiles that don't respond to messages, I felt it as a huge waste of time(used the site for about a week), probably the ratio of female to male profiles is too low
I've tried about 8 dating sites recently, and have previously used two others. This is one of only two that I've felt were worth my time. People respond, and I haven't ran across much garbage. I only didn't even try another 15 sites after an initial cursory glance and reading other user reviews.
OKCupid is free, and does not force you to look for a specific type of relationship. Whatever you are looking for, you can specify. Friends? Casual sex? Soul mate? Pen pals? All possible, and it's fairly well understood by most of the sites users that everyone is looking for different things. And, you can make your experience rather custom. I ended up giving them $60 just because I appreciated how much of the site was free by default, and that it's entertaining to use.
Other sites typically charge you do anything useful; they even charge you to read messages people sent to you. Others, focus just on "true love" or "sex". I don't know about you, but my life and interests aren't that compartmentalized.
Shop around, but I'd start at OKCupid. I used it many years ago, and it hasn't gone down hill at all. That's pretty amazing in and of itself.
Great site, a lot of profiles and totally free. No hoops to jump through, just post whatever you'd like on your profile - you can answer their suggested questions (what are you doing right now in your life? - what's a typical Friday night for you?) or simply write whatever you'd like in the space provided. There are personality quizes you can fill out and requirements you can set for who you want to meet, or you can ignore all that and just browse and contact who you'd like.
It's similar to PlentyofFish, but in my experience it seems to attract slightly more upscale people.
I had been trying all different types of online dating sites for a long time and I had no success with any of them, and I was about to give up, until my friend was pretty much pressuring me to try OKCupid before I stop. So I did, and I can say I really don't regret it. I met the love of my life on there and as cheesy as that sounds, it is possible and it did happen.
You don't have to pay for this site, it is free, but you do have to dedicate some time to it. You do have to check it often and you will receive emails from it if you choose to so that you can see who is interacting with you. The site really draws you in and you can meet some amazing people. I think my favorite part of interacting would be the quizes and the questions you answer and tell how important it is to you. It really does help find your match!
