I have been with oDesk as a freelance contractor since 2009. So far, so good! The system been working for me well and have significantly made my life comfortable. I am happy with where I am right now as a contractor. By simply working honestly, establishing good communication with my clients, and by exercising great care in choosing the job that best fits me, I can say that I really have a great oDesk experience. They do not charge me anything for the skills tests that I have taken and there is no membership fee. They only get a minimal share the moment you start receiving payment for your services. Although there are really some silly job posters, but it is up for the freelancer to exercise extra care in applying for jobs. Soar high oDesk!
only good for hourly work...fixed prices disgusting system..no escrow system
Today I have found another scam job with a Pakistani client named "Hafiz Muhammad Suleman" at Odesk . The job link was https://www.odesk.com/jobs/Expert-PHP-Programmer_~01415879164f085a81
A lot of fame buyer now available at odesk. Please be alert
There are many good people working on odesk. Honest, hard working, results driven. They come from all over the world. The problem is that there are 10 scammers for every one good guy. It is just too easy to manipulate the review system. You end up hiring someone you think is a pro at what you need and they really are just someone in another country that HOPES they can do what you paid for and burns your time trying to learn a new trade. This is not a solid place to ever find help, you will lose. Keep the money in America.
got different verified clients from odesk. unforunately they suspend my account permanently and told me that i wont be able to withdraw my balance anymore. i contacted my last client and he said there was no problem at their side and the payments to odesk goes well. its not true that an hour work is an hour paid. i asked them to check my work diary but nothing happens. im wondering whats happening with odesk. so many contractors are being suspended now a days. does anyone experienced this kind of situation?
