TheKitchenSafe.com is the online home of the kSafe, a time lock home safe which says their mission is to help people commit to make positive changes and reaching their goals.
How Does It Work?
According to their website, the kSafe was developed based on research published by scientists at MIT, Harvard, Stanford, Princeton, and Yale. These scientists discovered that “pre-commitment” dramatically increases peoples’ chances of achieving their goals.
Pre-commitment is when you decide that you want to commit to a smart choice now because you know you will be tempted by a bad choice later. To help their customers commit to their pre-determined smart choice, they created their kitchen safe, a self-locking container which uses a time lock to help people meet their goals.
The idea is that someone who is trying overcome a bad habit, like smoking, or trying to make a change, like dieting, will be able to identify times when it will be difficult for them to stick to their decision and will lock their temptation away with no way to open the safe.
The time lock lid has the ability to be locked for as short as one minute or as long as ten days. So someone who frequently snacks before bed can take the cookies, candy, or chips, place them in the safe, and lock the lid by setting the time for the next morning. Then that night when they feel like snacking, their temptations will be locked away.
The Mini kSafe is priced at $49 and is their smallest and most portable safe which they describe as being perfect for a cell phone, cigarettes, keys, cash, or credit cards, while their Medium kSafe is priced at $49 and described as being the right size for those items as well as cookies, candy, and power cords.
Their Extra Large kSafe is priced at $54 and offers storage for all the previously mentioned items, as well as the iPad Mini, small liquor bottles, chips, or any other larger items.
The website says that they do stand behind their products and always want their customers to be satisfied, so anyone that is having product issues will need to email their Customer Service team and they will try to help. They do promise that customers having problems with defective products will always have priority for their assistance.

This product actually appears to have many different positive reviews and it seems as though customers really like this kitchen safe, its design, its function, and what it has been able to do for them.
The fact that this company does not provide a well-detailed, concrete Refund Policy may be a problem for many customers. If this is the case, then you may want to try to find the kSafe sold through a third party retailer which will offer a specific policy.
Competitors and Alternatives?
There are other kinds of safes available, but this product is different because of their use of a time lock. Customers will need to consider what they are hoping to accomplish before the find the right alternative for their needs.

Although this is a very well made fantastic product, which, if I were only rating the product alone, I would give it a 5 star. However, during the shipping process, before my product finally arrived, I never saw an email confirmation at all. When I called, the man answering was smug, rude and very difficult, and finally sent me, after 6 days, a shipping tracking number and argued with me on a variety of things, in spite of my best efforts to compliment the product posted on youtube based on the overwhelmingly positive videos. It is such a good product, people took the time to record and post very good reviews. The customer service, though, is close to the worst I ever encountered.
