About Grasshopper Virtual Phone System
The Grasshopper Virtual Phone System, found online at Grasshopper.com, is a phone system available to entrepreneurs and business owners that allows you and your team to utilize their existing mobile phone system for your business.
How Does It Work?
Business owners can keep their existing contact number or choose a new number from available vanity and toll free phone numbers. Once you've chosen your new number, you record a greeting which gives your customers the ability to choose where they would like their call directed.
You then assign your team and various departments one digit or three digit extensions and can connect them to home, office, or cell phones. Grasshopper Virtual Phone System works with all existing mobile and home or office phones - you are promised that you'll never have to purchase, install, or maintain expensive hardware.
When customers call your business and choose their connection, your employees will receive the incoming call and can then choose 1 to accept, 2 to send them to voicemail, or 3 to hear the caller's number.
There are multiple available packages. Pay as You Grow is their smallest package which costs $12 per month and $0.06 a minute, while their most popular package is called the Grow Package and costs $49 a month and includes 2,000 minutes per month. The largest available package is $199 per month and includes 10,000 Minutes per month.
The website promises a 30 Day Money Back Guarantee, with no long term contracts. Customers who are dissatisfied with their service for any reason can cancel within the first 30 days of activation for a full refund of their costs.

This service seems to have mixed reviews, with many negative reviews focused on a situation that caused a lot of problems for their customers at one time, but which seems to have been fixed since then.

yeah I switched to Mighty Call too, but from phone.com. I had tried Grasshopper a few times, and I agree, they are just too expensive. Then they have the yearly special. I asked if they could stop billing when I'm not in working, but they said no. You gotta just pay and take your chances. They should lower their prices, and they have other dialer programs, that are also too expensive.
Most PBX systems for your small business are about the same. These guys grossly overcharge for their business and the customer support isn't amazing for the price.
Ended up switching to MightyCall. They do all of the same things but at a way more reasonable price.
