Site works fine to get a domain and a basic website, the problem is after you checkout you have to keep adding all these little add ons that seem like they should be included. Extra for privacy (most sites do it for free), over priced SSL certificates, 'free domain names' that renew at much higher prices, very cheap office 365 prices but problematic with them as a reseller and again high renewal fees, cheap website build, that again renews at much higher prices. The you get constant up-selling vial email and phone calls. Don't mind the emails so much because they can be deleted, but the calls I find difficult and annoying. This is because the sales people that call you actually sound quite nice at first, hey how you? how are our products going for you? .... and then come then comes the up-selling. Hey we noticed your site could be performing better, lets make it better.... it just doesn't stop. If they just left you alone without thee marketing it would be much better.
I had a very good experience with Go Daddy. I have bought multiple domains from them and am very satisfied. The domains were very cheap and so were the multiple extra additions like email and privacy settings. When I was having trouble their support team was very helpful and got my issue solved quickly. When first buying my domain, they explain to me what each extra service was for and who it may apply to, making it easy for me to understand what I needed. I highly recommend making your domain private so that you won't get bombarded with spam.
Go Daddy in my opinion is one of the best domain websites out there. I would definitely recommend them. When I got my domain I got an extra to help me build my website. It proved very helpful and easy, streamlining the process of publishing my domain. If you ask me, when buying a domain, go with Go Daddy.
