Foodler, found online at Foodler.com, is a new web based food ordering and delivery service which promises people a fast, convenient, and “rewarding” way to order their takeout meals.
How Does It Work?
In certain ways Foodler works just the same as many other online food ordering and delivery services. For example, to begin using their website you simply need to input your zip code and you will be provided with a list of restaurants you can order from, and this list can be filtered down by the type of cuisine or food they offer. However, Foodler does try to offer their customers some unique features that set them apart.
First, they offer their “restaurant satisfaction index,” which takes into account how often customers reorder from a restaurant, the popularity of their foods offered, and how close it is to other restaurants. Using these combined factors, you can get an unbiased understanding of how well that restaurant appears to compare to other similar restaurants.
They also offer their customers access to their proprietary algorithm which will analyze the foods and restaurants you’ve ordered from in the past to provide you with personalized menu recommendations, even from restaurants you haven’t tried yet.
Finally, Foodler also offers their customers a Rewards Program that automatically gives them points whenever they place an order through Foodler, and these points can eventually be transferred into credits that can be placed toward future food orders. Customers who earn 1250 points or more in a single calendar month will automatically be updated to the Gold Status, which allows them to earn more points, faster.
This service is technically free to use, free to set up an account, and says that they do not charge any fees for their service at this time. All pricing for food and delivery is set directly by the restaurant from which you are ordering, and not by Foodler.
In addition, Foodler says they do accept Bitcoin as a method of payment. All you have to do is deposit your Bitcoin into your Foodler account and it will automatically be listed as website credit is USD which you can apply toward any future food order.
Foodler does not offer a Refund Policy to their customers because the money paid by their customers is paid to the restaurants themselves. Therefore, if there is a problem with your service or your order, the best way to handle your problem is to contact the restaurant from which you ordered directly and discuss with them the possibility of a refund or future credits.
Customer Service Contact Info
Customers who would like to speak to their Customer Service team about their questions, concerns, or complaints can do so by submitting them directly to their website through their Contact link at the bottom of their page.
Unfortunately it appears that this company has a long list of unhappy customers because of their lack of quality Customer Service. The big issue is that it appears the company does not take responsibility for their delivery drivers.
Customers complained that their orders still hadn’t arrive an hour or even two hours after they ordered, and when they contacted the restaurant, they were told the food was picked up from the restaurant itself and was in transit. When customers emailed the company to complain about the issues – the length of the delivery time or the failure to deliver at all – the company apparently just apologizes for the inconvenience, but will not offer refunds because the money is paid to the restaurants, leaving customers hungry, unhappy, and with no recourse.
Competitors and Alternatives?
There are other companies that offer access to delivered takeout food, not just restaurant websites themselves, but other network sites like GrubHub.com, Eat24, Seamless, DoorDash.com, or delivery services like Postmates.com, and more.
