Fliptopia, found online at Fliptopia.com, is a new subsidiary of Apptopia which promises to be the best place for app creators and buyers to connect as well as the “easiest way to buy and sell apps securely.”
How Does It Work?
According to their website, Fliptopia realized that there were a variety of app publishers who could create an app and launch it, but what then? People needed a way to securely sell their apps, while at the same time other people who were interested in breaking into the mobile app market needed a place to find promising apps so they could quickly and efficiently build a portfolio. Fliptopia wanted to be the answer.
They claim to be the best and most secure place for secondary market app buying and selling. They also help their buyers and sellers throughout all the steps – suggesting apps for purchase, as well as helping sellers determine the price at which to value their app. They say that apps listed on their website have a 65% chance of an offer within the first 30 days.
When you sell your app on Fliptopia, you are selling the full and exclusive rights to the app. This includes source code, all artwork, all assets, icons, Android and iOS credentials, web presence, and all aspects of the app which maintains the functionality of the app or is used for the promotion of the app.
While this website does appear to charge their sellers to list their apps, they do not openly publish this listing fee, likely because there is a variety of factors included in the listing which will change what this fee is.
The way Fliptopia makes their real money, however, is through their Success Fee, which is 15% of the final sale price you have negotiated with your buyer or $150, whichever is more. Their website states that $150 is the minimum Success Fee they can accept from a sale in order to break even on their administration costs.
The Success Fee is subtracted from the total amount of money paid to the seller once the sale is complete. If your app is not purchased, you will not need to pay any fees other than your initial listing fee.
In addition, this company offers a variety of options for promoting your app once it is listed, like Tweeting about it, featuring it, keeping it at the top of certain lists on their site, etc, all of which carry an individual fee that you will pay for only if you choose to.
Because this website is not actually selling products but rather providing a convenient and secure online space in which buyers and sellers can meet to negotiate and transfer ownership, they don’t really offer a traditional Refund Policy.
Customer Service Contact Info
Customers who would like to speak to their Customer Service team about their questions, concerns, or complaints can do so by phone at 855-APP-TOPIA, by email at [email protected], or by submitting them to their website through the Support link at the bottom of their home page.
Unfortunately there are very few reviews available at this time for this company, their market, and their services. It seems as though their buying structure is very reasonable, and their website does offer a wide variety of tools to help the process of selling your app go as smoothly as possible.
Perhaps the biggest issue is the lack of the published list price. The cost of listing your app on this website will go a long way toward determining whether or not it is worth your time – and more importantly – your money in order to see what kind of buyers are interested in what you have to offer.
Competitors and Alternatives?
Mobile app markets are only going to multiply and expand as mobile apps become more necessary as a way of doing business in the domestic and international market, so if Fliptopia does not work for you, there is likely to be alternative for which your app is better suited.

1 ‘Fliptopia’ Review
I am in the process of purchasing an app and fliptopia has been the worst experience. everything seems to be automated but nothing seems to work. No response from the company on ANY emails. No contact number to call them. no communication. Thetransfer has been in the verification process for a few days and even though all seems good from both the seller and buyer standpoint fliptopia still sends out automated emails to go to the next step. Neither the seller or buyer can proceed with out fliptopia here. They were quick however to deduct the fist payments from the buyers account.
