Drizly is a new mobile lifestyle application that helps customers arrange fast, responsible door-to-door delivery service for beer, wine, and liquor, provided that the user is of legal age.
How Does It Work?
Users download the app to their mobile device or smartphones and immediately have the ability to order their favorite wine, beer, or liquor delivered to their home in an average of just 20-40 minutes. Before the delivery can be completed, drivers must validate your legal IDs.
Currently this service is only available in four markets: Boston, New York City, Chicago, and Los Angeles, though they are planning on expanding throughout the United States during 2014.
Though Drizly promises that they will never mark up the price on any product, they do require minimum orders and sometimes have delivery fees. These order minimums are generally between $20-$30, with delivery fees being about $5.
Drizly is available for download and use on both iOS and Android platforms.
There is no general Refund Policy for their services, however if the driver arrives at the home and determines that the customer is too intoxicated to responsibly receive the order, the delivery will not be completed and a refund will be provided to the customer, though a $20 restocking fee will be charged.
Customer Service Contact Info
Unfortunately Drizly does not publish any direct contact information to their Customer Service team.
While this application generally is being well received both for its concept and its practice in reality, there have been some users who have complained that one drawback to this app is that they do not alert users to stores that are closed until they have already tried to finalize their orders and are disappointed.
Competitors and Alternatives?
There are many different services which specialize in groceries or other types of food delivery, but some services claim to go across a wide genre of items which may include alcohol, including Postmates.com.

Don’t use Drizly. They say you’ll get your order within an hour and a half but it’s more like 3 hours.
I’d give it no stars if I could. I had discovered gift options on their website so I chose one, created a note and selected for the bottle to be delivered at a certain time during dinner for a friend at 6pm. Well after 10pm a guy showed up with a bottle in a grocery bag. No note, not gifted. It was $100 for this, I was extremely embarrassed as it was late, and all The customer service said they could do is refund me the $4.99 delivery fee and credit me $20. If they offer a gift option it should be a standard they hold their retailers to. Perhaps every retailer should be sent a certain packaging that reps the company. I Could’ve ordered it through Postmates , gotten there on time, definitely packaged better than a used grocery bag. Don’t use this company, great idea terrible service and not what you ask for.
Most of my orders come in 15 minutes or less, which is crazy because it would take me 20 to walk to and from my closest liquor store. I love these guys
