DoorDash, found online at DoorDash.com, is a new service which promises to help customers find and order from their favorite local restaurants and have their food delivered within an hour.
How Does It Work?
DoorDash partners with local restaurants throughout select areas of the United States to provide delivery services to those that don’t offer their own delivery team for customers to take advantage of. They also promise that they in most cases they can provide delivery service in less than 45 minutes.
To use their services, all you have to do is go to their website and enter the address to which you are hoping to get food delivered and they will bring up a network of delivery restaurants which will all deliver to your address.
Customers will then see a list of restaurants, the first handful will be those that are featured and then you will see a list of all merchants. With each restaurant you will also be shown their current delivery time for your area as well as the current delivery fee, if available.
And while this company generally caters to people who want food within an hour or less, they also provide people with the opportunity to schedule deliveries up to four days in advance, at a time of their choosing.
Though this service is technically free to use, they do of course charge a delivery fee to their customers, and this fee will vary depending on the specific region in which you are ordering your food, but it will be clearly displayed on the checkout page before you place your order. First time customers will be given a promotional fee of just $1.00 for their delivery.
In addition, DoorDash points out that when restaurants partner with their delivery service, they do agree to pay a commission fee to DoorDash. Some restaurants have chosen to slightly increase the prices on their menu items in order to cover this commission, though the website does say that the majority of their partner restaurants charge the same prices they do in their stores.
And the website also states that unfortunately many restaurants don’t do an efficient job of keeping their websites updated with the most recent in-store pricing, so this often contributes to a difference you may see between the two sets of online pricing.
DoorDash does not offer a Refund Policy to their customers because the money paid by their customers is paid to the restaurants themselves. Therefore, if there is a problem with your service or your order, you must contact the restaurant from which you ordered directly and discuss with them the possibility of a refund or future credits.
Customer Service Contact Info
Customers who would like to speak to their Customer Service team about their questions, concerns, or complaints can do so by telephone at 844-285-0248 or by email at [email protected]
Unfortunately there seems to be many negative complaints from users regarding problems with delivery either taking extremely long periods of time - which is not necessarily in the control of this website - or being cancelled completely with what they felt was insufficient notice from DoorDash.
In addition when these problems occurred, people who contacted Customer Service felt that their problems weren’t appropriately handled and that DoorDash generally offered them a credit to be used at a later date, rather than a refund of the money they spent or any additional offers for their trouble.
Competitors and Alternatives?
There are other companies that offer access to delivered takeout food, not just restaurant websites themselves, but other network sites like GrubHub.com, Eat24, Foodler, Seamless, or delivery services like Postmates.com, and more.

I never recd 2 paid for orders totaling over $118. I received 2 ticket numbers without avail. I have been a religious customer and this is the thank you that I receive? DO NOT use this food. You will be left hungry, frustrated, and thieved of money!
Delivered the order okay but with missed items in the order.
Its not just one location or one time. One time it was near Houston,TX and other time it was Chicago.
Worst communication and lost money for undelivered items. I dint like it simply because there is no one to answer how that undelivered item money is going to return back. Messages to them are not going to get any answers.
Its simply looting customers money thru a bad business principle.
Never going to order from this site. Also, not going to recommend it anyone too.
