About Crunchyroll.com

Crunchyroll.com is an American made streaming platform which describes themselves as the leading global video service for people hoping to stream Japanese Anime and Asian media.

How Does It Work?

According to the Crunchyroll website, they currently offer more than 25,000 episodes and 15,000 hours of content from leading Asian media, which are translated professionally in multiple languages within minutes of its television broadcast.

Users who are visiting this website must confirm that they are at least 13 years of age, because Crunchyroll.com needs to make sure that users younger than that are not exposed to any images of romance or violence that would be inappropriate.

Finally, the website emphasizes that all of their content has been officially licensed and that every video available through their site is legal to watch and share.

Mobile Options

Technically speaking, you can get access to Crunchyroll.com from any device that gets an internet connection, but the website specifically mentions a list of devices including iPhone, iPad, Android, Kindle, Windows Phone, Playstation®3, Playstation®4, Playstation®Vita, Xbox LIVE® on Xbox 360 and Xbox One, AppleTV, Roku, Nintendo WiiU, Internet-enabled TVs, set-top boxes, and more.

Their website does offer a full list of Crunchyroll.com compatible devices, and updates it regularly as new devices are added.

Cost/Price Plans

Many of the content available on Crunchyroll.com is completely free of charge, but they do offer an ungraded Premium membership which costs $6.95 per month, and offers advanced features like the ability to simulcast new episodes as soon as 1 hour after airing in Japan, watching shows both ad-free and in HD, and access to their entire library of anime, manga, and drama titles.

New users are offered a two week trial of the Premium membership, but a credit card number will be required. Users who try the service but don’t wish to continue will have to sign onto their Hulu account and cancel the service to avoid any future charges.

Refund Policy

Because Crunchyroll.com doesn’t offer any long term contracts and is instead a month-to-month service, you are welcome to cancel at any point without applicable refunds. However, if you encounter serious technical problems that are interrupting or preventing your viewing, you should contact their Customer Service right away to see what they can offer you in terms of service or pro-rated refunds.

Customer Service Contact Info

Customers who would like to speak to their Customer Service team about their questions, concerns, or complaints can do so by submitting them directly to their website through the Contact Us link.

Reputation

While there are complaints you can find online regarding this website, it is still true that this is probably the most popular and most used website for streaming legally licensed Asian media and content.

Many of the complaints about this service unfortunately has to do with the quality of the videos and problems with loading, buffering, and interruptions, so it certainly seems as though people would be best served by using their free services and taking advantage of the two week free trial before signing up for the paid service.

Competitors and Alternatives?

Actually, there are many other streaming services for television shows and movies, including Hulu Plus, Netflix, TelevisionFanatic.com, LoveFilm.com, MovieLush.com, Mubi.com, Vudu.com, and many others, though this site may be unique as American website specializing in Asian media.
