Constant Contact Reviews
About Constant Contact
Constant Contact is an email marketing platform also integrating social networking into its services. It was developed to help small businesses, associations, and non-for-profits, communicate with their customers and members.
With Constant Contact the possibilities are limitless. There are over 400 pre-designed templates and a blank template to use for an even more unique email campaign. While experienced coders and programmers can use their HTML and CSS training to create emails, beginners are afforded with design capabilities that do not require such knowledge. Its easy-to-use interface enables anyone to arrange their email content in any manner.
The monthly base price of Constant Contact is determined by the number of contacts saved in your online account. For 1-500 contacts, the monthly price is $15.00. From there the price increases as the list grows. If you prepay for 6 months a 10% discount is applied to your total and if you sign up for a year it increases to a 15% discount. In addition, non-for-profit companies can save up to 30% prepaying for a year of service.
For an additional $5.00/month you can access a large gallery of images and will be given additional storage space for your own photo and image library. Conducting online surveys costs an additional $15.00 per month plus $.05 for each completed survey.
It is free to sign up for an account directly on the Constant Contact website; no payment is necessary until the 60-day Free Trial offer ends. To cancel your account, contact customer service by email, through live chat, or on the telephone. Should you change your mind and reactivate your account within 90 days, all of your previous content will still be accessible.
Constant contact has many routes for additional help and support. The online learning center has tutorials, FAQ’s, a user manual, demos and webinars. Customer support can also be reached by email, phone and live chat.
Spam complaints by Constant Contact members have been addressed in online reviews. Contacts in your database include those who subscribe to them on their own or manually entered by the account holder. Instead of selecting to opt-out of the emails, individuals in the contact list are reporting them as spam. This reflects poorly on the reputation for both Constant Contact and their members.
Overall, Constant Contact is a highly desirable email marketing platform; this is due to the affordability and the usability. The company has reported it now has over half a million users worldwide.
It is important to remember the effectiveness of your email campaigns and your ability to capture the interest of both current and new contacts is only possible if you are consistent.

Several months ago, I canceled my Constant Contact account. The "Customer Service" person said because I was such a long-time member, I would get 2 free months to wrap up my mailings. I guess I agreed - and guess what. After the 2 "free" months they started billing me again. Complete misrepresentation. They used the credit card I had on file without ever getting my consent (except to stay on board for the two free months). When I told the CS agent that today - he laughed and said yes - the account restarts after the free months.
