CoinStarter.com is the online home of CoinStarter, a company that says that their goal is to “power the future of token based fundraising” by letting people raise funds with cryptocurrency instead of traditional currency.
How Does It Work?
According to their website, CoinStarter was created by a team of entrepreneurs, economists, philanthropists, and software engineers who believed that cryptocurrency was the way of the future and they wanted to give people something better.
Their creators believed that combining AI with their talents throughout every stage of the process, they will be able to create the next generation of blockchain technology which will simplify the blockchain and make it viable for mass adoption by the public, finally.
Their technology is based on Bitcoin, but they do allow their supporters to use more than 50 different types of altcoins to donate to the projects that are sponsored on their website. Their user-friendly interface allows their fundraisers to set rules for their tokens, and at the end of your campaign you will be able to automatically receive all tokens into your crypto wallet.
Customers should know, however, that CoinStarter is actually currently in Beta mode and has not officially launched all of their website’s features. They want to make sure that their legal framework is completely in place before they launch, and they invite people to submit their email address in order to get regular updates about where they are in the development process.
Though this website is not officially up and running in its entirety yet, they do claim that they are going to offer their users simple pricing. First, there will never be any upfront fees to begin hosting your fundraiser on their website. Their website says that their pricing structure is designed so that CoinStarter only succeeds when you succeed. Because of this, their fee is 7% of BTC that is raised and 7% of issued tokens.
Unfortunately because this company is not yet officially launched, it does not appear that they have all of their policies worked out. Generally speaking when it comes to other crowdfunding services, the service itself is unable to process a refund for their customers who make donations unless they contact the fundraiser directly and arrange the refund through them or their fundraising page first.

Because this company is still in Beta mode and they haven’t officially launched, there are mostly just reviews about the potential of this company and what the hope is they will be able to do once they have launched. Hopefully more information will be available once this company is fully operational.
Competitors and Alternatives?
There are many, many different crowdfunding programs and websites available that will help people raise money for a variety of causes, but it doesn’t appear that many – if any – of these companies will allow people to donate money in the form of cryptocurrency at this time.
