SCAM. This is how to Unscubscribe. The ONLY way.

Problem:

Guy on cell phone is cust service dude.

First Lady on phone asks, how many days has it been that I ordered the service. I said 4 days. (They like you to keep calling back until the first billing period.

Lady on phone says, "Im sorry, your email is not in our system.

When asking why my email was not in (the system) so they could cancel it, I was given the response, All I can do is check the last four digits of your card number, your name on your credit card, and your email address. None of these three are coming up, the only way to validate your account is by you giving me your card number without the year and expiration date."

Hmmm... I don't feel comfortable doing that over the phone, I said.

Lady on phone responds saying, "I respect your decision". I said well how do I cancel, she said well.. "I gave you three choices, none of them are coming up in our system".

I bluffed her saying; "Well, I received an email confirmation saying that you have received my account information when I logged in. So, I know for a fact you have my account on record".

She thought about that for a second. She said "Well, I don't know what else to tell you, I have now verified your name and the last four digits on your credit card 3x now. If you want, you can just give me your card number so I can check your account".

I said, "Well, I would like to speak to a Mgr. She said, "There are no managers here, but you are welcome to call back later, we answer the phones 24/7".

So that phone convo was not okay with me. I came on here and read all of these SCAM reviews.

My next step: I cancelled my credit card. TAKE THAT YOU SPAM SCAMMERS!

Before the final step of giving them my credit card I call their number to cancel and was on hold for over 15 minutes, that is ridiculous and so I checked with reviewopedia.com and Wow, saved a lot of time and money. ALWAYS CHECK REVIEWS.

3 Criminal cases, 3 same charges in 1 year? When the charges would put a person in prison for 20 yrs., I call BS. This site is bogus & provides deliberate misrepresentation of people. I will never use it again. I researched cases in states where I found no information available on the identified cases by this system. When criminal cases are over 10 years old, they shouldn't be multiplied into more cases. One charge can have 30 court dates after conviction date due to probation. It cannot result in 3 different convictions. Be aware that this site sometimes provides 1 criminal charge conviction multiple times & you must go to that state's records to research.

These people are scammers. I did a background check on my husband who is in prison and nothing came up. He is in there for Aggravated Assault so something should have came up and I did a check for all states and it shows no records at all including a check on our marriage licenses. There were no records of us ever been married. This is just a scam to get your money. Don't bother signing up, they are a fraud!!!! His age was correct but not his date of birth. The only reason I knew it was his profile was because his family members were listed but I wasn't and his old previous addresses including ones we shared but everything else was incorrect or non-existing.

Not only is the information incorrect but when you try to cancel it, they send you an email back that you have to call in to cancel. It's a scam. Don't sign up for it.

Don't pay $1: the 'report' includes only general data available everywhere, no criminal records, no marriage records and so on.

But then interesting starts. Within couple days they charge your account for $1.97 and $45.30, even though you ask them to cancel account because the information is useless and available all over the internet for free.

Anyhow, tonight I resolved issue with PayPal (what a great company!) but what out for your linked credit cards, checking account to PayPal account.

The scammers think withdrawing small amounts from your account will go unnoticeable, so be careful and check all your charges.

They charged my debit card for services i did not request nor authorize and my bank called referencing the fraud!

They made three unauthorized transactions on my card.

I used check people .com to view my own back ground check they don't even have me in their system. So after I did this they charged me 1.00 from my debit card which I thought was fair I guess. But than 3 days later they took 47.00 from my account for no reason I haven't used the service at all and finally I get ahold of customer service and they say they automatically sign you up for a prescription it's ridiculous and illeagle to steal money from innocent hard working people for no reason after a long talk she says oh we will give u 20 dollars back are you kidding me you stole 47 dollars from a single mother of 3 kids and you say you only give me 20 back I was so hurt and upset it's a scam once you enter your credit or debit card you are as good as theirs only way to not get stolen from is to call customer service and get a confirmation code onto your account so that they cancel your info in their data base it's terrible this place needs shut down and they're info on people's history is wrong none of it is accurate it's a joke do not trust them do not use the free background check its not Fred they charge you a dollar that day but 3 days later will take 50 from your account its a sad day when you can't even get a a background check of yourself without being victimized by this company truth is people need to run a back ground check on check people.com

I wanted to do a backround check on myself just to see what pulled up as I'm trying to rent a home. Checkpeople.com was the very first site on the list, i typed in my name and city and state. It pulled up one search result with the cities that i had lived in, when i paid the dollar and was able to access the report it gave me around 30 different crimi al cases and arrest that were not associated with me, i called the number and spoke to a supervisor who then ran a check and got something like 80 results they hit me with the terms and conditions speech, i do not recommend this site at all it is crap and the company will be getting a letter from my attorneys regarding the informatiin on their terms and conditions

The company is a scam, they will over you a paid "free" trail to get you cc info then start charging you 44.85 a month even though the paid trail is not an agreement for monthly service. Then you will have to call multiple times and file complaints with bbb to get your account cancled.

This site will just lie and take your money. they will tell you they have information to make you sing up and then they don't have it. they will also make it complicated to cancel so they will keep charging you for a service they do not provide.

Save your money. This site is a POS. DO NOT USE. The federal trade commission should stop them. What the hell is wrong with companies SCAMMING GOOD HARD EARED MONEY. Screw you checkpeople.com ... I already knew the address, I wanted information. If you are looking at this site, RUN LIKE HELL.

Got a $1.00 trial -- the information available wasn't even worth that amount. First of all the list of addresses don't have any dates or names of owners; the record of marriages/divorces never show anything even for people I know have been married & divorced multiple times; but worst of all the list of criminal/traffic offenses includes ANYBODY with the name you're searching anywhere in the US. How useful is that? The whole thing is a scam, stay away. You can find better info through a Google search.

I didn't even get to find out whether or not the information was correct, because every single search I did came up as "not available". I called Customer Service 3 times over the course of 3 days, and it was the same guy on the other end all 3 times telling me that they were having technical difficulties and it would be solved soon. The guy was very clearly on a cell phone, not in a professional call center. I asked for a refund, and he said okay, but I'm not holding my breath. The worst part? I signed up for the most expensive "plan" because I had intended to use the service for many months.

BE VERY CAREFUL USING THIS WEBSITE. Signed up for one time use , but took for one month, so went back to website to reprint. Would not take my password, could not access.

Next month got charged for another month. THEY AUTOMATICALLY RENEW AND CHARGE AGAIN NEXT MONTH UNLESS YOU CANCEL

Do not use. Background information was both incorrect and incomplete. They make it difficult to cancel and the fee is automatically reoccurring. If you seek to cancel they have no problem charging the entire fee while simultaneously restricting your access immediately. I would prefer to give this service a no star what so ever rating.

Tried to run a report it wouldn't let me. When I called because it didn't recognize my log in information they stated I was never charged. When I go my statement I was charged $29.95 and $1.00 but was not able to log in so I paid for nothing! When asked to refund they only allowed me half!!!! SCAM SCAM SCAM

Don't pay for information that's free

Sites like this only take information that is already freely available and sell it to you. So, essentially, if you use this site, you are paying for the information twice. Once via your taxes for LEA's to put the information online and a second time for this company to show the information they scraped off of LEA websites, and most likely didn't pay a dime for it.

If you want to look at someone's arrest record or find other information about them, go to your local LEA's website, and they will most likely have an option there. You can also check your County Clerk's website as they often have arrest records as well as any other information that is file with the county.

Don't pay twice for what you can get for free.

I got sucked in by this POS site. Ran the report and as stated by others you have to pay $25 to see the free report. The info in the report was a joke... an absolute joke. I am divorced 5 years now and it did not even pull up any divorce info. It has all the previous address and some of the phone numbers but if your looking for usuable info about criminal history or domestic type stuff you will laugh at what they give you for $25. I contacted CS and they gave a long winded story of pulling from all kinds of sites and once the info is pulled there are no refunds. Really? The program you have pulls this info from the sites you have it targeted to in secs and does not cost you a thing since you are pulling from public domains. Simply put... this site is a joke!!!
