Chargify Reviews

About Chargify

Chargify, found online at, is a company that says their goal is to help your business maintain your customer relationships for years by smoothly managing all your subscriber activity and cash flow.

How Does It Work?

Chargify says that they have “seen and done it all” and their clients have the ability to make their subscription plans as simple or as complex as they would like. Clients will have full control over the amount and frequency of their plans, to set predetermined setup fees, to set custom trial periods, and to offer one time charges in any amount.

The benefits of using Chargify will begin when customers first sign up for your service. They promise to make sure that the sign up process is as easy as possible, and that your customers will be able to automatically receive statements, notices, invoices, receipts, and marketing emails.

Companies will also be able to offer add-ons to their subscriptions, including usage fees, optional fees, and metered billing. Companies can offer coupons and discounts whenever they wish in order to better retain or attract their customers, and Chargify can automate the whole process. They also offer a self-serve portal for your customers, which allows them to manage their subscriptions, including plan changes and cancellations.

Cost/Price Plans

The pricing of your Chargify services will vary based on the number of customers you are currently dealing with and the type of features you would like to offer them. Their most affordable plan is priced at $65 per month and is designed to manage up to 20 customers, with credit card billing, PayPal billing, API Access, and a customer self serve portal.

Their most expensive package at this time is their "Growing Business" package, which is priced at $459 per month and is designed for up to 2,000 customers. This package includes invoicing, analytics, Webhooks Replay, connection, Xero Accounting Integration, MailChimp Integration, and more. Each new customer signed up will be an additional $0.69 per month.

Companies that work with more than 10,000 subscription customers will need to use their Enterprise Plan, which will have variable billing depending on the features you would like to include.

The website states all plans include 1,000 non-paying users. Non-paying users are typically on a free plan, and become customers when they upgrade to a paid product. More non-paying users can be added for $0.01 each.

Refund Policy

Chargify provides all new prospective clients with the option to create a test account for completely free, so they can test drive all the features and customization options provided by the company and to determine whether or not their offerings will work for their company.

In addition, all services offered by this company are done on a month-to-month basis, with no option for long term contracting. Because of their comprehensive free trial and their customers’ ability to cancel their membership whenever they choose, it is unlikely that this company offers refunds of their service fees, though the website offers very limited information.

Customer Service Contact Info

Customers who would like to contact Customer Service with any questions, concerns, or complaints can do so by phone at 800-401-2414 or by submitting them through the Contact Us link located at the bottom of their webpage.

While there are not very many reviews of this company available from their customers and clients at this time, those that are available do appear to be generally very positive and complimentary about what this company has to offer and how it can help your business.

Really the only complaint that appeared more than once was regarding the pricing of Chargify, and the fact that it was higher than many other available services. However, since most customers were so happy with their service, this difference in price wasn’t enough to make them consider switching to an alternative service.

Competitors and Alternatives?

There are many other companies out there that promise to give people similar services and features, since billing platforms and cloud based services are important for many businesses operating and competing in today’s market. Competitors include Zuora, NetSuite, Braintree, Apttus, and many others.
