CarTection.com is a company that offers car owners a way to have coverage for vehicle repairs long after their manufacturer warranties are up, so they can avoid large scale expensive repair costs.
How Does It Work?
Similar to an insurance plan which covers damage related to accidents, CarTection offers monthly payment plans which will cover mechanical repair costs not covered by insurance or warranties.
Customers will start with one of three different types of plans. The first is New Car Coverage, which they describe as being similar to a manufacturer warranty. It is a full coverage policy, including even parts and components of the vehicle that are not covered under the manufacturer's warranty.
The second plan is for Comprehensive Coverage, which is best for vehicles that don't qualify for New Car Coverage, but still wish to have coverage for their vehicle's engine, transmission, AC, electrical system, starter, water pump, fuel pump, brake system and more.
The third and final type of plan is their Powertrain Plus Coverage, which is premium coverage for just the "major, high cost" repair components of the vehicle, including the engine, transmission, fuel system, and more.
The cost of CarTection.com coverage plans depends on your personal circumstances, your car, and the choices you make regarding coverage.
The website does post a logo which references a 30 day money back guarantee, but there are no details regarding this policy anywhere on their website. Concerned consumers should speak with a representative about this policy before they make a purchase.
Customer Service Contact Info
Customers who would like to speak to their Customer Service team about their questions, concerns, or complaints can do so by phone at 800-840-9202 or by submitting them directly to their website.
Though the website does state that they are a BBB approved company, this does not mean much to the actual customer experience with them and, unfortunately, there are not many user reviews available for this company at this time.
Competitors and Alternatives?
Coverage plans for car maintenance and repairs are actually not very common when sold by independent companies and not by a dealership, though there are some competitors available out there for people who are interested in looking at comparisons.

1 ‘CarTection.com’ Review
I was deceived by the agent that sold me the policy. I discussed repeatedly with the Cartection salesperson that I am an Uber driver and my car is used primarily for this purpose. Once I received the policy in the mail, I read it does not cover, “All Failures if the Vehicle is used for commercial purposes including but not limited to, rental, taxi, limousine, livery or shuttle.” I called the carrier and they confirmed that the policy does not cover Uber drivers. Additionally, I was told by the salesman that he would email the policy details immediately, prior to receiving it in the mail, but I never received the email.
