About Brilliant Earth
Brilliant Earth, found online at BrilliantEarth.com, is an online retailer which says they go beyond diamonds classified as "conflict free" to specialize in "ethical origin" diamonds, engagement rings, and fine jewelry.
The Kimberley Process Certification was established by the United Nations General Assembly in 2003 to address the issue of conflict diamonds, which they define as diamonds that finance rebel movements against recognized governments.
Brilliant Earth says that they believe this is definition is far too narrow and does not address all the concerns that conscientious diamond buyers have. Their "ethical origin" jewelry goes much farther than that basic definition.
In addition to the definition used by the Kimberley Process, this company also says that they qualify all diamonds that are "tainted by violence, human rights abuses, poverty, and environmental degradation" as conflict diamonds.
The diamonds that you purchase from Brilliant Earth not only do not finance civil wars, but also will be traceable to their origin, use environmentally responsible mining, fair labor practices, and do not come from areas that have issues with human rights abuses.
Because they are an online retailer, similar to Blue Nile, they do offer free shipping on all of their products, including free return shipping if your item needs to be resized - which is complimentary - or otherwise returned for any reason.
They do offer a 30 day money back guarantee if you receive your item and have complaints or realize that it simply is not for you. It is up to you whether you want to exchange your piece or just want to request a refund.
They also offer two beneficial Life Guarantees. First, that if there is ever an issue with your piece that is due to a manufacturing defect, they will repair or replace your piece at no cost to you.
Their other Lifetime Guarantee regards diamond upgrades. Any loose diamond purchased from Brilliant Earth, excluding lab created diamonds, can be exchanged for credit equivalent to the original purchase price for a new diamond that is at least 50% greater in value.

My beautiful 18 carat gold infinity ring with princess cut diamond exceeded my expectations! It is breathtaking and just so beautiful. Everything about my experience shopping with Beautiful Earth was excellent. The customer service staff were fantastic to deal with via email and kept me updated and answered all of my questions. They were enthusiastic and genuinely excited for me and my purchase. Everything right to down to the finest details including packaging of my ring was professional and beautiful. I am also very pleased to deal with a company that is environmentally and ethically minded. I will cherish my ring forever and can't wait to be able to wear it following my special day!
Your marketing machine makes me want to throw up! Really, please take down the pictures of poor starving kids and stop
exploiting them. I see you and it's disgusting. Please come down from your platform and get real. I'm sure you're getting rich, but is it really worth it. Full transparency please.
I have tried to leave reviews for Brilliant Earth (negative ones, mind you, because their rings fall apart and are a waste of money, you could get better out of a gumball machine). But for some reason, they keep disappearing.
So not only do they put forth a mediocre product, they also work hard on fabricating their online reputation. Someone should be these guys out of business.
Brilliant Earth is a scam. They have no independent documentation behind their diamonds. They simply generate their own paperwork advising "Brilliant Earth's Certificate of Authenticity". For the settings they have no paperwork advising materials are sourced from recycled metals. Again only their own guarantee.
If their diamonds are Canadian then they would have a canadamark card or one of the brands authorized by the Canadian diamond Code of Conduct as retailers of CDN diamonds.
Brilliant Earth simply slaps their own document on their products and expects the client to buy their claim. No independent third party documents are offered.
their line of settings shows they purchase from manufacturing facilities. None of the other online jewelers make the claim of recycled material. Even though they all use the same plants to buy their products.
Brilliant earth wants you to believe as a small online business they are in partnership with different mines and working with them. This isn't true at ALL! neither Diavik or Ekati deal with Brilliant Earth. As a small company Brilliant Earth does not have the process in place to track every single stone from a cutting plant to the mine of origin. THey do not have access to this kind of paper trail.
avoid this company at all costs
