About Bead for Life
Bead for Life, found online at BeadForLife.org, is an organization that says their goal is to create sustainable business opportunities for women to lift themselves and their families out of poverty.
How Does It Work?
According to their website, Bead for Life says their goal is partner with impoverished women around the world and help them get the skills they need to become entrepreneurs. This includes business training, self-generated earning opportunities, and the support they need to be successful.
This organization was established when the creators discovered that in Uganda, women could actually make a living supporting their families from the creation of jewelry made from paper beads, which have been sealed and then strung together in various designs. But most women could not afford the materials they would need to create this jewelry in a profitable volume.
Bead for Life provides them with these supplies, and asks that their supporters provide a Bead for Life Marketplace, meaning that you can sell this jewelry at your office, school, church, or online. Or customers can choose to simply go to their website and buy the jewelry directly.
The prices for these beaded products range between around $10 on the lower end for a simple pair of earrings and goes all the way up to nearly $500 for specialty items that are either limited in quantity or even may be a one-of-a-kind item that will not be replicated.
100% of the proceeds of all purchases made on this website goes directly back to expanding the business opportunities of the women supported by Bead for Life.
Surprisingly, Bead for Life does offer both an Exchange and a Refund Policy for customers who are unhappy with their products for any reason. They ask that customers who are dissatisfied please return their product within 30 days of the date of shipping, according to the instructions posted on their website, understanding that all the shipping costs will be your responsibility. Returns made after 30 days will be given store credit.
If your purchase breaks, Bead for Life asks that you ship it back to them and they will do their best to find a replacement that is as close as possible to your original piece. Unfortunately each item is hand made with recycled paper, so each item is unique and cannot be matched exactly.

I did this as a senior project in high school. Well when i gotten the letter from them they were like you didn't make enough money for us. And had some real tall talk they stated we needed more money and i looked at it. And it really ticked me off because it was towards the end of the school year and we only had a 3 days to finish the project
My only complaint is that sometimes the color I order isn't as vibrant as I hoped it would be. I could send it back but I choose not to. I do get many compliments when I wear them whether or not they are vibrant.
