About Ameriplan

Ameriplan was founded by Dennis and Daniel Bloom in 1992 and has successfully established itself in the health insurance sales industry.  When they first started out the brothers specialized solely in dental insurance.

The company, headquartered in Texas, now offers discount supplemental insurance for the following: vision, dental, and medical.  They target the uninsured or underinsured citizens of America.

The company claims to be the premier Discount Medical Plan Organization.  This kind of claim and the promise of not having to deal with products or inventory gets people to join as both customers and independent sales reps.

Products and Plans:

Their full range of services now covers:

  • Dental
  • Vision
  • Prescription
  • Chiropractic
  • Physician medical care

Keep in mind that these plans are NOT Insurance or Medicare Prescription Drug Plans.  Ameriplan plans offers you medical services at pre-negotiated discount rates, you are still responsible for paying all medical costs.

Prior to signing up you can search their network of partner providers to see if this will be a vialbe solution for you and your family.

Ameriplan Business Opportunity:

The company relies on a direct sales model to get their plans to the most vulnerable and underinsured members of society.  The peer to peer business model allows them to reach these people providing them with more options for health care coverage.

Moreover as an independent benefits consultant you have the opportunity to grow a business while simultaneously helping people.

Customer Support:

If you have any questions you can receive assistance by calling their phone number at 1-800-647-8421.

Online Reviews/Complaints:

Some people say it's difficult to make money in the Ameriplan Business Opportunity because their network coverage areas isn’t as large some of the more established companies.  This makes it difficult to recruit members since you can not guarantee they can receive health care with an Ameriplan discount plan.

In the past some benefit consultants have complainted that the company forced them into a monthly fee, however for that money you are also receiving your very own Ameriplan.  This helps you in the sales process as you can honestly explain how the plan works and share your personal experience.

Competitors and Alternatives:

If you are looking to get into insurance sales through a direct sales opportunity the main competitor to Ameriplan would be Primerica.

If you are currently enrolled in an Ameriplan or have previously used one please leave an honest review below.

I was a broker for 9 years. Just started making a six figure income and they took my check along with many others.

Dennis and Daniel Bloom are greedy and hurt many innocent people.

I've only been with Ameriplan a couple of months and after training and finding my "niche" I got really excited and reached the first level of RSD. I find the Company to be top notch and checks arrive almost every day. I show people a way to earn an income from home and get wealthier.

I help people afford health benefits they might not be able to get and they bless me for it. This is a newer, better Ameriplan and I know people who are making $25k, $50k and over a million a year helping people. And it's fun!

It's simple and easy to do and I sign up people almost every day and help them to success. There are so many factors that can affect success - but with the right ones, it's not difficult to reach the top.

If you're reading these comments you're probably trying to see whether or not Ameriplan is a good company. Google "Ameriplan terminates" and read a few thousand of the horror stories.

So sad. What was once a great company with a great product is now a total nightmare. I did my research, and after a few months, joined their competitor. I couldn't be happier with my decision.

The business opportunity is a scam. When you get started, they are making money from you because they charge you $50, $100 or $150 per month to be in the business. If you start making too much money, they fire you, unless you are making a lot of sales every month. Most of the company's top earners have gotten kicked out over the last few years. Dennis and Daniel Bloom, the owners, are greedy liars.

I worked for Ameriplan until: For once I was Blind, but now I See. I believed everything I was told until I had too many customers complaining about the lack of service providers giving discounts and about the discounts not being a savings after including the cost of the plan and the savings not being any more significant than a coupon or an advertised special. Remember this is not insurance, they have to say this at least once or in the bottom or fine print, to keep themselves out of trouble. I contacted the Main office to find out if the complaints had any validity to them and sure enough it was true. I felt guilty about selling something that didn't help people save money and about fooling new brokers in to believing that they would make enough money to sustain them. I'm Sorry I didn't know for so long, too many of you out there... please forgive me, but the people up front really know how to convince you to drink the kool-aid. Sorry. The Bible speaks of protecting those who cannot protect themselves, I hope I have saved someone from the anguish of losing closeness with some friends and family members. Remember This: If any company tells you to make a list of family and friends to take advantage of... ahem... I mean to approach with the supposed savings or the means to make money, they are having you use your closeness to them to influence their decision to become a part of a misleading pathway.

I am a broker with Ameriplan and have been since November of 2009. I have been in the health care industry for a few years now and seen many horror stories of what providers, hospitals, and insurance companies alike do to people who cannot afford standard coverage. And as both client and broker of Ameriplan I can assure you that this is no average company. If you are looking for a nice comfy side job that pays you for doing you as little as possible which is what you find of most people today then Ameriplan is not for you. It is not for freeloaders that think the world owes them something. However if you are a person that no matter what job you do you are doing the very best you can to achieve the top then this is for you. Most people by nature have to have someone watching over their every move to ensure they keep working, Hence a regular job. This is a Business and it must be treated as such. We are still dealing with peoples lives. The pay is awesome. I can tell you there is not another insurance agent that has the opportunities that we have as far as the pay structure. The key for us is we keep our clients happy with a product they can count on. I have seen many multi-level companies. But this one actually Helps People. If you just in it for the money well then you wont make it because they type of people you meet in this business are some of the nicest and helpful people you would ever want to meet. If they are not, well they don't make it very long. I encourage you. If you looking for a business then look at Ameriplan. If you looking for a Job then go to the want adds.
