Allure Beauty Box, found online at Allure.com, is a new service from prominent fashion magazine Allure, which promises to bring you a selection of their reviewed, editor approved beauty product samples each month.
How Does It Work?
Unlike other, similar beauty sample boxes that are available for a monthly subscription, the Allure Beauty Box does not ask new customers to fill out any sort of a questionnaire or provide any information about your personal coloring or beauty concerns.
This is because this particular beauty box is not aimed at fulfilling customers’ preferences, but rather at giving their customers a chance to try out high quality beauty products that are recommended by Allure beauty editors.
These editors say they find the “most noteworthy” beauty products, from categories like hair, makeup, skincare, fragrance, and more. They try these products first and then they select the ones they love the most and send them to their customers to try for themselves.
Each month, Allure Beauty Box members will receive at least five deluxe sample sized products from major beauty brands and innovative newcomers, along with a “mini magazine” that discusses the products and gives detailed reviews.
The website only currently offers a single subscription option, and this option is priced at $15 per month, with a month-to-month payment schedule, or customers can choose to pay for a year-long subscription up front for $165, which is the equivalent of paying for eleven months’ worth of boxes and then receiving the twelfth bag for free.
The website is very clear that they do not provide any sort of refunds for the monthly fees that are paid, nor do they provide any sort of prorated refunds for customers who pay for the annual membership. If a customer does experience any problem with their monthly delivery, or receives a broken or damaged product in their bag, Allure Beauty Box does ask that you contact their Customer Service team as soon as possible so they can address your problem.

First, it is important to note that the Allure Beauty Box used to be called Sample Society, and was associated not only with Allure magazine but also with BeautyBar.com. They have recently ended this partnership, and the new Allure Beauty Box is only operated by Allure magazine.
That being said, the reviewers and bloggers who are reporting on this new monthly subscription service appear to be very happy with what they’ve received. Not only are the products extremely well liked, high quality products, reviewers also really appreciated the mini-magazine full of information that came with their box.
There were no complaints or reservations mentioned about this box being so general, with no questionnaire or preferences requested, likely because the products themselves are general in nature and the magazine is clear that their intention is just to give their customers a chance to try their most favorite products, as opposed to catering to customers’ specific wants.

I can't even give one star. They ripped me off and charged me 7 times and when I went after them refunded, but then took the money right back out. I am frustrated and now I'm broke.
Don't bother with this subscription unless you enjoy getting expired items, duplicate items from previous boxes, or being shorted items. Customer service is an absolute joke and will give you the run around hoping you will be so frustrated you just give up and go away. They constantly deceive customers saying certain products will be included in the box for that month when they are in fact NOT.
Good luck getting any promo or bonus for new subscribers. It takes months and that is for the lucky ones that actually get it.
At $15 it is waste of money and there are numerous other boxes that are far superior to this box and the customer service at allure.
I haven't received my boxes, just cancelled my membership. Not impressed.
I signed up only 2 months ago out of curiosity, but I encountered VERY BIG issues with their website that access directly to my account. In fact, they have two accounts: one for the Beauty Box service and the other for Allure Magazine Subscriptions. Each time you log into one website as soon as you click the Magazine Subscription tab, it takes you to another login site and you get bumped out of the original site where initially logged into. Well during the 2nd Box shipment, the items arrived damaged and it leaked all over the box. I recently attempted to log back into my account to cancel out my subscription. Well sure enough - guess what? All my personal information disappeared. I am reporting them to BBB. Their website is SO misleading. I bet this is how they ripoff a lot of their customers! Way to go Allure! Conde Nast SHOULD NOT EVEN BE INVOLVED! They F**K their customers' acounts.
I signed up for the annual beauty box and the charge was on my credit card just fine. Then, a week later, they charged me again, for a higher amount. I asked them to take the additional charge off. A few days later, they did. A few days after that, they took the original charge off as well. Then they put the second, higher charge on again. I asked them to take it off (again). They informed me that it was a temporary charge (it wasn't) and would disappear in a day or two (it didn't). When I contacted them again, they claimed again that it was a temporary charge and I hadn't actually been charged twice. When I told them to take the charge off and cancel my account, they claimed it would take two months. I had to turn them in to my bank for fraud.
