AdapDesk is a new product being crowdfunded on Kickstarter.com that calls itself “the world’s first portable work station” for being able to use laptops effectively and comfortably anywhere in your home.
How Does It Work?
According to their website, most people in the United States today work in a situation where the work doesn’t end when you come from the office. Whether you work from home on a regular basis, are taking additional classes, are helping loved ones with their responsibilities, or have any other reason, people need a comfortable place to use their computer at home.
The AdapDesk has been designed to be used anywhere in your home, including the bed, couch, and floor. It has also been designed so that all peripheral equipment can be used as well, including a cup holder for drinks and a built in mouse pad.
And in order to be beneficially portable to their customers, their standard version measures 12.75” by 23.5” and the foldable version can fold down to 11.75” by 12.75”, making it able to fit inside most backpacks and laptop cases.
Unfortunately this product is not yet available for sale on the open market at this time, as they are still in process of crowdfunding on their Kickstarter page. Their crowdfunding page says that people are able to purchase a standard AdapDesk with Cup Holder, Mouse Pad Holder, AdapDesk branded Mouse Pad, two Side Baskets, and one Bumper Set for $125, which they say is a discount off the eventual retail price of $135.
According to their crowdfunding page, it seems as though this product will begin being shipped to crowdfunding donators during November of 2017, though these dates may change in the future.
Because this product is not yet actually being sold on the open market, they also do not appear to have any kind of published Refund Policy available for their customers at this time. Hopefully once their product actually begins being delivered to customers that participated in their crowdfunding campaign in Fall of 2017, they will begin publishing these important policies, but until then customers will need to contact their Customer Service team with any questions they have regarding refunds.

Because this product is brand new there are not any available customer reviews to help prospective customers decide whether or not this product is right for them. Because there are so many different kinds of portable desks available, however, it is not out of the question that this company will be able to provide their customers with a product that really works for their needs.

Portable desks and laptop desks are already available in both online and offline retailers, so customers who are looking for alternatives to this product will be able to find some other options that are ready for purchase right away, even if they may not offer all the features of the AdapDesk.

I wish I could review the AdapDesk, however, I never received mine nor did I receive a refund. In fact, most of the kickstarter supporters did not receive their adapdesk. The creator provided numerous photos of the products during production and apparently completed all orders but ran into financial difficulties and asked for additional funds from the supporters. I found out about the additional shipping fee too late to be one of the supporters who receive my AdapDesk. I would have paid the additional fee to get my adapdesk. Now the creator refuses to contact us for resolution.
Emailed several times for 3 months to w different email addresses. No one has received their desks according to Kickstarter comments so I’m not alone. These guys are thieves and scammers.

Questions and Concerns: Part III
We are beyond thankful for the comments supporting us in this difficult moment. Below are answers to questions and concerns we've selected from the comments we've been receiving. We have also included photos of the production which were taken today.
“If I pay the extra $55, and only a portion of other backer pay the extra portion, will you ship my AdapDesk?”
Yes, if only a few backer pay the $55 we will send them the AdapDesk. Every backer who pays the extra portion is guaranteed to receive their unit.
"When will the product arrive?"
We will open a window of 10 days for backers to refill their CrowdOx surveys with the new balance. The money we ask for covers between 70% and 90% of shipping by air which takes around 8 days. The shipment process starts on the second week of February.
"What happens if we don't pay the extra money?"
The units will be placed in the factory’s storage warehouse for as long as we are able to pay for it. In the meantime will we try to find financing to ship them.
"How much extra will it cost?"
55 USD for delivery to USA, 68 USD for International. These rates increase if you have a Double Up or a Quad.
"How much money is left to issue refunds?"
Unfortunately, there is no money left for refunds.
"What happens if you don't make up the $126k shortfall?"
In that case we will send the units to everyone who has paid the extra for shipment.
"Why did it take you so long to inform us of the shortfall?"
Firstly because the events took place gradually. In business is normal to face difficulties, and it is only appropriate to inform your backers or clients until you conclude that you can not solve the problem. Determining when it is appropriate to inform backers of this type of issue is not easy.
"How can I pay the additional money?"
We will be processing the extra through your CrowdOx surveys. If you go and check your survey you will note that the balance has increased, and hence is payable.
"If I pay you the extra $55, does this guarantee you will ship the AdapDesk to me?"
Yes. You will receive your AdapDesk.
"What stage is the product at? I.e. is it completed? This includes the desk, bag and add-ons. "We are just a few days from the packaging process. The units are nearly completed.
"Please send current pictures of the products, and video also."
